Where do WWE (or any wrestling company) typically look when trying to find creative members outside the business ?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Unfortunately, Hollywood. They find sitcom and soap opera writers who don’t understand that wrestling is a different form of writing.

  2. Sagar says:

I don’t see a review of Fully Loaded 2000 on here in your ‘All Reviews’ page. It’s my understanding that you have reviewed every single WWE PPV. So did you miss putting it on or has it not been reviewed yet?

I’d like to see a review of it on here as Rock vs Benoit from it was one of my most fun matches to watch.

  3. noahconstrictor says:

IDK if you knew this, but your e-book is the #2 best seller in Wrestling e-books on Amazon, and the #3 best-seller in ALL wrestling books (e-books and hardcopy).

  4. Liam says:

Have you seen the stories about Hurricane Sandy?

  5. Liam says:

Do you think ROH might win worst promotion of the year for 2012? Cause you know the product has gotten so dull as of late.

  6. chad says:

hey great reviews man, was wondering if you could do the feb 18th 2002 ep or raw where the nWo beat up the rock and drive into him with the semi truck thanks man

  7. Liam says:

Can you do all 5 WWA (World Wrestling All-Stars) PPV please? Cause all 5 ppvs are now avaliable on youtube.

Can you review the January 11, 1997 edition of Shotgun?

  9. Liam says:

Can you please do a review for Raw July 8th 2002 Please? Cause I think everybody remember this show for two things.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Sure. It’ll take awhile to get to but I’ll put it on my list. I’ll be starting all of the 2002 Raws relatively soon.

  10. noahconstrictor says:

    October 21st, 2002.

  11. noahconstrictor says:

Have you ever given your thoughts on the Katie Vick angle, and have you reviewed that RAW?

  12. Liam says:

Have you seen wwe saturday morning show? Cause everybody keeps saying that the show was shit because of the skits etc.

Recently I brought a shit load of xpw tv episodes, sure the company was ridiculous, but strangely appealing because Rob Black tried his absolute hardest for his entertaining insanity like this vid for example

  13. AttitudeFan says:

Has there ever been a rookie wrestler (From any company at any time) that you just looked at and thought “He is gonna be big one day” and they ended up being big.

  14. David says:

KB I love the work and everything you do. What I think would be a great edition to your site is if you do a “what if” series. For example, what if Shawn Michaels never hurt his back, The Rock never left for Hollywood etc.

  15. Jay says:

KB I liked your analogy of Cena/Punk channeling Hogan/Savage from 1988/1989. I didn’t think about that but thats a cool way to look at it.

I know your not a Fan of 2003 but could you do the Go-Home RAW before Unforgiven that year? September 15th was the date of that one.

  16. AttitudeFan says:

When for you did the Attitude Era begin officially?

  17. AttitudeFan says:

At the end your Summerslam 2012 review you called this “A pretty good summer for the WWE” wouldn’t you say its one of the weaker summers though of the past few years? In 2011 we got the awesome Punk storyline, 2010 we got the awesome Nexus storyline and in 2009 we got the awesome Hardy/Punk storyline. I don’t think we had one storyline in the summer that comes close to those.

  18. Rocko says:

Can you also review the August 19 2002 and August 26 2002 editions of Raw?

  19. Rocko says:

Can you review the December 16 2005 edition of Smackdown?

  20. Jay says:

    No problem,no rush.

  21. Jay says:

Can you do a Review of the Post-Ground Zero RAW? September 8th 1997 Episode.

  22. I got to watching the Triple Threat Match from Vengeance 2003. Any chance at a review. It had to be one of the best I’ve seen.

  23. AttitudeFan says:

Could we possibly get a post on your thoughts about the Lesnar/HHH match like the build up and what you think should happen in the match?

  24. Jay says:

Are you back to the Old Format? If so I like this better.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Yeah it’s back for now. I’ll be redesigning it again soon but with a design that is actually, you know, good.

  25. AttitudeFan says:

AGREED! Austin/Mcmahon finally in a match at Mania would have been a big deal.

  26. AttitudeFan says:

I know it doesn’t matter now but why did they turn Rock heel in late 1998 when he was getting insane pops?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      1. Russo.

      2. There was no one else to face Austin at Mania other than Vince, who it probably should have been.

      • Rocko says:

Would Mankind have made a good opponent or do you think the story at the time had to involve McMahon or his corporation somehow?

        • Thomas Hall says:

It HAD to be a Corporation guy. It was built up for most of a year and it wouldn’t have made sense otherwise.

  27. Liam says:

would you ever consider to review of Super j cup 1994? the entire event is on youtube.

  28. shawnkempsmoobs says:

Yo KB, how do you feel about Right to Censor? I personally think it’s brilliant how they transformed the Godfather into the Goodfather, and Ivory was spectacular in her role, amirite?

  29. Jay says:

    OK I might try it,thanks.

  30. Jay says:

So just type in your password for Youtube and it gives it to you?

  31. Jay says:

Yeah ive seen the 99 cents deal which isn’t bad. How does that work on there?

  32. Jay says:

I read your Genesis & Turning Point 2005 Reviews, good job as always. Would you say minus a few things that was probably TNA’s Best Year with 2006 thrown in also?

Also where are you finding these Shows?

    • Thomas Hall says:

It’s up there yeah. 06 is probably a bit better.

Oh I have my places. You can get almost every TNA PPV from their Youtube channel for 99 cents.

  33. Jay says:

Can you also do the week before,June 3rd where HBK came back and joined the nWo?

  34. Liam says:

Are you going to review Raw June 10th 2002? you know the show where Austin didn’t turn up?

  35. Hamler says:

Nevermind, I found a few non detailed spoilers.

  36. Hamler says:

Didn’t they already do the first show? Any spoilers or anything?

  37. Hamler says:

Have you been able to get your hands on the first show taped at Full Sail University?

  38. AttitudeFan says:

Ever watched Rise And Fall Of ECW? If so thoughts?

  39. noahconstrictor says:

Have you done the King of the Ring PPV’s yet?

  40. AttitudeFan says:

Was there any year that you would have picked ECW to be the best of any of those things?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Not really. Maybe 1995 but only part of it.

      • AttitudeFan says:

I guess 1995 for the best roster could have been chosen had it been us looking back on it now due to so many of the roster becoming HUGE stars like Austin, Foley, Benoit, Mysterio and others.

  41. AttitudeFan says:

Its now 1997 and you can pick from WCW WWF or ECW

    Best shows
    Best roster
    Best matches
    Best promos
    Best storylines

  42. AttitudeFan says:

Ready for Show/Cena matches again? Looking at your reviews you hated them in 2009.

  43. liam says:

Are you going to review Nitro March 8th 1999? I’ve heard the first hour has got to be one of the worst first hours of everybodys lives!!

  44. Jay says:

KB are you not doing some of the other TNA PPVs from 2006? I think Lockdown,Sacrifice,Slammiversary, and Victory Road.

    • Thomas Hall says:

This is what I have left in 2006:

      Final Resolution 2006
      Against All Odds 2006
      Lockdown 2006
      Sacrifice 2006
      Slammiversary 2006

  45. Jay says:

I could see them mixing the 80’s/90’s guys for the 1,000th RAW in July. Instead of just one over the other.

  46. AttitudeFan says:

Just randomly thought of this. How awesome could the 1000th episode of RAW be this year?

I mean compared to previous years if everything goes to plan they could have on one show

    Rock
    Austin
    Foley
    Bret Hart
    Lesnar
    Cena
    Orton
    Undertaker
    HHH
    HBK
    Jericho

I mean just look at that! If everything did go to plan that could be so awesome. The other years sucked because some of the main names was either doing other things or others had problems with WWE.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I just have a feeling they’re going to screw it up. For whatever reason they keep trying to appeal to the fans of the 80s with guys like Dusty and DiBiase and Hillbilly Jim. Why not have people that were names in the 90s that you never see anymore pop up?

      • AttitudeFan says:

I agree so much. The only one out of the 80’s lot that can get a reaction from the crowd these days is Piper (Who I wouldn’t mind showing up at all) I wouldn’t mind some old midcarders from the attitude era pop up they are always fun.

Oh man imagine if Lesnar is doing this whole beating everyone up storyline still and then Austin and The Rock show up in the middle of the ring man that could be some awesome TV.

On a side note talking about when these 80’s guys show up there always seems to be some weird tradition when Dusty Rhodes pops up on the show he always turns either heel/face in Cody Rhodes segment. Don’t know if you ever caught that.

  47. AttitudeFan says:

Did you think CM Punk’s promo at the start of RAW was pretty corny?

  48. Jay says:

Yeah I dunno why the Smackdowns are so hard to find on the Internet.

Well another RAW Id like to request when you have time is the May 3rd 1999 one going into Over The Edge.

  49. Jay says:

Yeah I checked out 2007 for the 1st time and I agree with you that it was probably one of their Best PPVs. 2008 Ive seen a couple times but never got all the way through it and never came back to finish it. 2008 is not bad with the Tag Tournament and the World Title Match. Didn’t care for the Divas Battle Royal/Ladder Match though however. I may check out 2009 next week.

Any chance you will be doing some past Smackdown Reviews after you get done doing all the PPV Reviews?

  50. Jay says:

The Split still exists for the most part but not as much as it did in the beginning.

KB if your interested the TNA Website has been posting their past Sacrifice PPVs. They have 2005,2007,2008,and 2009 so far.

  51. AttitudeFan says:

should WWE get rid of the brand extension? its is so pointless at the moment with Daniel Bryan going after the WWE title and everyone just jumps around to each show without reason anyway

  52. AttitudeFan says:

Do you think Michael Cole was “On” in the main even last night his commentary for me was some of his best work.

  53. AttitudeFan says:

Ever seen the TNA unbreakble 3 way? If so thoughts?

  54. noahconstrictor says:

Could you do the Raw from February 15, 1999 with the Mankind vs. Rock ladder match?

  55. pussydestroyer356 says:

    after a long search, i found that it’s march 12th, 2003.

don’t make these 4 comments visible, please.

  56. pussydestroyer356 says:

this may sound perverted but i still want to ask.

a few years ago, i saw a dailymotion video which featured two nwa-tna knockouts wrestling in the ring. one of them was losing her top and jeremy borash was covering her with his jacket.

i tried to find that video but i saw that it’s deleted.

    original link was this:
    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5012q

this is the only frame of the video that i could find (to prove that this video actually existed): http://img4.woopie.jp/getdata.php?pid=1704e72q15be7

my question is, do you know when did this happen? if the answer is no, could you please ask your friends? i really want to see this video once again.

    thanks!

  57. AttitudeFan says:

Do you think you was very kind with Royal Rumble 2012? I just looked at it today and I think even a B- was much for just two good matches.

  58. Jay says:

Hey KB can you do a Review of the April 21st 2008 RAW which had the King Of The Ring Tournament? Thanks.

  59. Jay says:

Anytime the WWE is in Chicago for a RAW/Smackdown or a PPV its always going to be an Awesome Show.

  60. AttitudeFan says:

You looking forward to Extreme rules? Its shaping up to be an amazing PPV and add the awesome and loud Chicago crowd and you got a possible great PPV.

And a question on top of this question can a crowd make matches/PPV’s better? Like would MITB 2011 have gotten a lower grade if it wasn’t for the crowd?

  61. AttitudeFan says:

I know I am going to sound like a broken record asking this but do you think they might let some blood spill in the Lesnar/Cena match with all this legitimacy talk and zooming in on a bloody Cena’s face.

Then again if that huge end of an era didn’t even get blood I doubt this one will. What you think KB?

  62. Jay says:

Hey KB so after the debacle that was TNA’s Lockdown would you agree with Scott Steiner they are indeed a sinking ship?

Also since you did Monday Nitro 1996 Reviews any chance you will be doing some RAW 1996 Reviews in the future?

    • Thomas Hall says:

It’s not a sinking ship, no. It’s got problems for sure though.

In the distant future yeah I will be.

  63. Evan says:

Yo KB, I know you’re in the middle of the No Mercy series, but would you possibly be able to do a Backlash 03 review sometime before Extreme Rules ?

I’d like to know what you think of Lesnar-Cena I , before you watch Lesnar-Cena II. Plus, Rock vs Goldberg, I’d like to know your thoughts on THAT particular matchup.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I wouldn’t be able to get to it beforehand. I’ve got the rest of things planned out so that the PPV reviews are all balanced. I’m hoping to have them all done by the 4th of July.

  64. AttitudeFan says:

It defiantly made the Cena/Lesnar thing look better that shot of Cena all bloodied was pretty awesome to be honest.

  65. AttitudeFan says:

Would it be crazy of me to think Vince told Lesnar to “give Cena some color” seeing how they had MMA viewers and there was talk of legitimacy?

Also the blood really makes me miss that the WWE wont have blood again because whether it was a accident or not it really sold it for me that they hated each other.

I would love to see you do a post with your views on blood in wrestling.

    • Thomas Hall says:

There isn’t enough for a post. In short, there’s no need to have someone goring themselves to death. I don’t have a problem with it happening every once in awhile, but if there isn’t any I don’t really miss it.

  66. AttitudeFan says:

I could have seen Jeff Hardy as the #2 pretty close #1 face and man Cena and him could have had an epic “ultimate faces collide” match at a Wrestlemania.

  67. AttitudeFan says:

Just been watching some 2008/9 stuff and holy hell is Jeff Hardy over he actually manged to get the Undertaker booed in a match they had. How big do you think Jeff Hardy could have been had he not left/had drug problems?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Pretty up there, but one of the reasons he was so beloved was his drug problem and overcoming it.

  68. AttitudeFan says:

I just thought of something about Cena he seemed to have got really badly booed/mixed reactions during 2006/7 and then he came back in 2008 from injury up until around late 2010 he got mostly cheered and people would chant “Cena Cena Cena” instead of the lets go Cena (Yeah he got booed but it was rare/mostly at PPV’s) but now it seems the crowd reactions have gone back to 2006 mode where he is getting booed pretty much every week. Have you noticed this for the last year? Why do you think its happening again?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      The

      Rock.

That’s really all it is. The fans cheer for Rock and go against whoever he’s again. That’s about it

      • AttitudeFan says:

Cena feuding with a white hot CM Punk during the summer didn’t help as well would you say? And Brock Lesnar coming back will equal even more boo’s would you agree?

        • Thomas Hall says:

I would think so yeah. The thing abotu Cena though is that he can go through that and it’s not going to hurt him. Having someone solidly in the spot that he’s in is a great benefit because you can have him lose most of his matches and he’s still fine.

  69. liam says:

Now that No Way Out is back, are you going to do the No Way Out series? love your reviews btw

  70. Jay says:

OK sounds good. What Site are you getting all the Shows off of?

  71. Jay says:

Hey KB any chance you could review TNA’s Lockdown from 2006? I noticed thats the only one of those you haven’t done.

  72. AttitudeFan says:

Favourite Wrestlemania theme? Mine is WM23.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Probably I Made It. I can’t stand most hip hop but there were some videos with that song to it that were great.

  73. AttitudeFan says:

I don’t know if you heard of this excuse for dead Wrestlemania crowds but lots of people say its because the places it takes place at are so big. Is it a valid reason for dead sounding crowds?

  74. Thomas Hall says:

    Probably the first Cell, yeah.

    • Evan says:

Another quick question. Do you believe that the “spectacle” of Wrestlemania adds to the in-ring quality ? For example, let’s just say that Taker-HBK from WM 25 takes place at like…. Over the Limit or some B level show…. Is it just as good as if it takes place at WM, or does the “spectacle” that is Wrestlemania add to it?

Personally, I’m a fan of atmosphere, and the “entertainment” side of WWE. The idea of a match that takes place at Wrestlemania under the bright lights tends to give us more excitement and adds to the whole experience as a fan. So, it DEFINITELY makes it better IMO.

      • Thomas Hall says:

Yeah it certainly does. A match taking place in the main event of Wrestlemania automatically makes it bigger. The match means more and how many people are going to remember Over the Limit 2010 in 5 years?

  75. Evan says:

KB, your WM 25 count-up question got me thinking…. What is the greatest match in history to NOT take place at Wrestlemania?

    HIAC I ?
    NWO 01 3SOH?
    SS 02 HBK vs HHH?
Foley vs HHH RR 00 ?

SOOOO many possible choices here. I’d go with HIAC I though. Absolute PERFECTION when it comes to storytelling. The best WWE-style match I’ve ever seen, and my favorite match ever.

  76. WWYKI says:

Any chance at a review of New Year’s Revolution 2007? If you have one, I can’t find it. Amazing work on the fly by HBK to save the match with Rated RKO.

  77. AttitudeFan says:

There have been two events were I think fans would have legit rioted if Cena won

    Money In The Bank 2011

    ECW One Night Stand 2006

Do you personally think they would have?

  78. AttitudeFan says:

    Are you buying Wrestlemania 28?

  79. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

How would feel if The Miz interfered in the Once in a Lifetime match? Other than the fact that it ABSOLUTELY RUINS the point of the match, it’s probably the only way to give The Miz some leverage to stay a heel (or turn face).

It will also make a lot of smarks angry, which makes me feel better inside.

  80. pussydestroyer356 says:

    Hey KB,

RedneckSpiritHunter6 is down but he’s back. Here’s his channel:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/DixieGold01

  81. newc868 says:

Just read your Wrestlemania 21 post and the part with Hulk Hogan’s return got me thinking:

    What’s your favourite return ever?

I think mine is Punk’s from last year. Maybe it’s too recent but all others seem to be either ‘before my time’ or when I was on a break from wrestling.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Probably Undertaker in 2000. That blew me away live, and I was annoyed because it was 90 miles away from me and my mom wouldn’t let me tag along with a friend that went.

  82. AttitudeFan says:

Could you do a post about the CM Punk angle from last year? Your thoughts on it, how you reacted, where it went right and wrong? I think it would be a good read.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Probably not a full post but in short I loved it. The angle worked because they switched things up a bit. It wasn’t the same old stories that they always had and it had people guessing. Also it worked the smarks, who were actually believing that Vince would put Punk out there for a “shoot” without having him locked up in a contract. Yeah, wrestlers and a wrestling company lied to us and we bought it. Amazing how that works. I think it used to have a name: kayfabe or something. I loved it and everything up through MITB was great.

Where they went wrong was the night they had Punk return about two weeks after the fact. He got a HUGE pop, but imagine if that had been say two or three months later. Then at Summerslam they have Alberto cash in and the whole conspiracy thing starts up, resulting in HHH beating the tar out of Punk for awhile and taking Punk away from the title picture for a few months, totally cooling off his white hot streak.

In other words: a wrestler comes up with a great idea and the creative team of soap opera writers that have no idea how to write a wrestling storyline screw it up.

      • AttitudeFan says:

It was actually a good time to be a fan back then (Starting to sound nostalgic over something not even a year old lol) but yeah it was amazing and the hype for MITB was amazing.

I just hope WWE can pull another good summer angle this year like they have done for 2 years now (Nexus 2010 Punk 2011)

  83. AttitudeFan says:

Remember CM Punks commentary run from 2 years ago? Would you say he was a face/tweener commentator because he seemed to credit both heels and faces and also call them both too.

  84. Thomas Hall says:

Then you can see where he goes with the AJ story. He has a lot of ways he could go with that.

  85. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

DBD vs Sheamus @ Mania. Thoughts?

Though it’s pretty obvious that Sheamus will win, I wouldn’t be surprised if he tapped out. DBD does need a cementing heel victory.

    • Thomas Hall says:

There’s no reason at all to have Sheamus lose. He’s been built up well and having him tap would ruin the last six months of build for him.

      • TheSDQQKidJoe says:

They ruined ADR’s rumble push. Something’s telling its not Bryan’s time yet. Drag him out till Summerslam.

        • Thomas Hall says:

WAY too long to have him as champion. Too long to have anyone as champion.

        • TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Fine. Let Sheamus have his Mania moment. DBD doesn’t really have anywhere to go after losing. Sure he’ll have his 2 rematches at Extreme Rules and Over the Limit, but then what? Feed him to Orton?

      • Jay says:

I agree and I think Sheamus will win at Wrestlemania. KB who do you think will win Cena/Rock?

  86. AttitudeFan says:

Wow CM Punk is now on the list of people who can say “shit” Do you believe me now that a change of content is here/coming now? And if they let this slide don’t you think a little blood would be fine for the HIAC match?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Nah it’s just Wrestlemania season. A little blood would be nice for that match.

      • AttitudeFan says:

Yeah your probably right the week after Mania will probably back to squeeky clean image especially if Linda is running again this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if we DO get blood seeing as its Taker/HHH pretty much two untouchable guys and with the possibility of it being Taker’s last match what can they do fire him?

  87. Jay says:

April 4th 2005 was the Date for it.

  88. Jay says:

Hey KB which year or years would say was the Best of the Attitude Era? I think 1998 & 2000 were the top two of the Era.

Also any chance you could do a Review of RAW the night after Wrestlemania 21?

  89. AttitudeFan says:

What do you think of WWE letting John Cena say “shit” live on RAW? Remember this was the same show just last year that blocked the word ass out. Is change in content coming/here?

  90. liam says:

I would love your review on xpw freefall (not the one hour version) it features one of the worst matches I’ve ever seen

  91. Evan says:

You know KB, alot of people ask me all the time, when am I going to get out of wrestling ? They tell me it’s for “8 year olds” and they tell me that buying DVD after DVD (I have around 200 WWE DVDS) is a waste because they will eventually end up in a box in the basement somewhere, or sold for 2 dollars each.

It got me thinking, why do we love this so much ? I mean, I got into wrestling later in life, as the first show I ever watched was Summerslam 2004, and I’m 18 now, so I’ve only been watching for ALMOST 8 years, but it seems as if my interest is still at it’s peak and I don’t see it lowering any time soon.

I tell people that eventually I’m going to pass on all my wrestling things to my kids. Hell, last summer, I met and got an autographed picture with Hulk Hogan (a memory that will surely last forever). I will NEVER stop loving this, as I feel there are a selected few out there, that no matter what direction the business takes (PG, TV-14), we’ll still be there.

However, I believe interest to be cyclic. I lost interest in the WWE around late 2008 and didn’t watch it CONSISTENTLY until late 2010, just checking the results of PPV’s every now in then, but as always, something drew me back in, because it’s a part of who I am.

So my question to you is simple… Did you ever take any breaks from watching wrestling, if so, what brought you back, and do you ever see yourself repeating that cycle again ?

  92. Sully says:

Why do you say Norman Smiley should of been pushed more in WCW but not Santino?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Smiley was stuck in the horrible Hardcore Screamer gimmick for like a year and a half. He needed to get out of that and pushed a little higher. Santino’s gimmick and card placement is fine.

  93. AttitudeFan says:

One more thing i wanted to share a friend recently watched Smackdown with me it was his 1st WWE show for like 5 years he said the biggest reason for him quitting watching was he hated knowing what would happen next.

When Johnny Ace announced Kane Vs Aksana he said “What’s the damn point Kane attacked Orton so who the heck do you think will be the big hero next week?”

I think he has a point (On the casual fan side) he was calling everything out and how everything will probably go next week do you think this is a problem with WWE and casual fans?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      Predictable doesn’t mean bad.

      • AttitudeFan says:

Maybe for us internet fans who have more knowings of wrestling but its different for causal fans.

        • Sully says:

Or because we aren’t 5 anymore and can actually think. Wrestling is not rocket science or even middle school math, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what is going to happen.

  94. AttitudeFan says:

I see in your hell in a cell PPV reviews that the Cell matches don’t get good ratings is it because it lacks blood? If not blood must downgrade the rating somewhere.

  95. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Thoughts on Ring Ka King? Good for TNA? Bad for TNA?

    • Thomas Hall says:

The first episode was ok. The production values are incredible given what they have. It’s a huge untapped market so I see no issues with it.

  96. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

    The rock’s promo notes….A work…right?

Though it seemed legit to me.

  97. AttitudeFan says:

The twitter stuff is a bit urgh but i am leaning towards Vince saying “Hey rock get some stuff trending” the chanting though is great getting the crowd involved is a missing art in the WWE.

  98. AttitudeFan says:

I think you underrate Rock’s promo’s do you not think you do?

    • Thomas Hall says:

No, I just think you’re very biased and irrational in your support of Rock against Cena.

      • AttitudeFan says:

Can’t you admit to any bias for Cena? Does seem you are a “Cena guy” not that there is anything wrong with that.

I thought rocks promo responded to everything Cena said last week and fit some jokes into it because in all honesty Rock has never been a serious character so a fully serious rock promo does nothing and Rock had the crowd in the palm of his hands.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Because I’m not a Cena guy. I just have no interest in having someone starting chants of “Cena’s missing balls” and “Cena’s lady parts.” If that’s entertaining to you then whatever but it does nothing for me.

  99. Sully says:

Would 1999/2000 Rock kick Cena’s ass in promos?

People keep saying that he would but I feel it is just from people that cannot accept the fact that John Cena is actually really really good. I still feel like Cena would kick his ass and as much of a mark I am for The Rock, Cena is just plain better than Rock.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Yeah probably, but he’s a very different kind of guy. Also we wouldn’t hear half of what he said back then today.

  100. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Also, No Way Out 2009? You’ll probably cover that in your No Way Out series.

  101. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Can you do the first Night of Champions? I think it was 2008, with Cena vs HHH rematch.

  102. AttitudeFan says:

On TNA’s youtube page they added Angle/Joe from Lockdown 2008 don’t you think what they did for the main event was pretty badass? The highlight reel video package before each entrance, the backstage camera it just has that big match feel do you think they should do this for PPV main events?

    • Thomas Hall says:

I couldn’t stand that match for those reasons. They spent way too much time focusing on making it an MMA fight instead of a wrestling match.

  103. Jay says:

Plus I will be at the last RAW before Wrestlemania this year so I am pumped for that as well.

  104. Jay says:

Yeah im not really buying the so called Rock avoiding everyone Backstage News bits. I have just been glad he has come back and can’t wait for the Match at WM 28 with him & John Cena.

KB can you Review the March 14th 2005 RAW? I was at that Show going into WM 21. When you have time that is.

    • Evan says:

Agreed. I think this is a great request. The Rockers one night reunion, the return of Jake Roberts, HHH vs Benoit, Benjamin vs Edge. Requested by me as well.

  105. Thomas Hall says:

I don’t really care if he didn’t. Rock is going to make the company a fortune. It’s not like anyone else there draws even a portion of what he does, so I don’t care what he does.

    • AttitudeFan says:

True the people complaining should be happy that they will get a nicer pay because of The Rock.

      • dude_d_dude says:

I guess, but it wouldn’t kill him to be a little nicer to his fellow co-workers.

        • AttitudeFan says:

We don’t know whats going on for real though its backstage no cameras filming and no proof (A fan for all we know could be sending false info) Unlike the fact that people get paid more can proven because the facts are out there saying how much they made at each event.

Just saying lets not judge Dwayne until there is solid proof that he did this.

  106. AttitudeFan says:

    what does rocky do tomorrow?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Catchphrases, “jokes”, and run his mouth. He might be somewhat serious. at least I can hope he does.

      • dude_d_dude says:

KB are you behind Cena or Rock, and why?

Personally I’m firmly behind Cena. I’m not his biggest fan by any means, but Rock just isn’t doing it for me anymore. Some dirt-sheets have reported him just not bothering with folks backstage, you can’t trust these things 100% but after multiple reports it does beg the question. I’m not someone who wants to see him back every week, but I do believe that if he really wanted to be involved he’d take a “Legend” type role. He’d mentor guys/girls backstage, help train them a bit if he can, do some behind the scenes work if you know what I mean. I personally think he’s in it just for the pay/publicity, which is fine and all when you’re that famous (I guess) but don’t make it seem like you ONLY care about the wrestling when I doubt he really, truly does.

        Just my personal opinion.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Cena. For the exact same reason he said in his rap: “You tell these people that you love them. That’s your role you know it. I’m here every week to show it.”

      • AttitudeFan says:

KB sounds like you hate the rock man. You can’t say you don’t like a little Rock hey makes the show feel big time.

        • Thomas Hall says:

I don’t hate Rock. I just like Cena more at the moment. I haven’t heard a single promo from Rock that makes me want to cheer for him over Cena.

      • AttitudeFan says:

I do think he holds back this feud has been done to put Cena over why would Rock want to destroy Cena and make him look bad.

Trust me if Rock acted like legit 1999 Rock with the shirts and sunglasses he would tear Cena a new asshole some of that shit Rock said during this time was brutal so brutal some people didn’t come back from it.

        • Thomas Hall says:

That was 13 years ago. That’s a long time and a lot of things have changed.

        • AttitudeFan says:

Something that i have been wondering what is the legit feeling between the two? And do you think that rumor of Dwayne not talking to anyone backstage is false? I can’t imagine after WM27 that the rock just ran off and didn’t speak when he is booked for the next day its not like he had movie commitments to rush to.

  107. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

If Both of HBK’s feet had touched the floor in the ’95 Rumble, what would have been altered?

That must of have been a hard spot to plan.

    • Thomas Hall says:

My guess, either Shawn wins the title shot later or they just do Davey vs. Diesel. It’s not like it mattered much anyway.

  108. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

If Both of HBK’s feet had touched the floor in the ’95 Rumble, what would have been altered.

That must of have been a hard spot to plan.

  109. noahconstrictor says:

    2 questions.

    1. Do you have any WWE DVD recommendations? I’ve got some money to blow, and I have NO idea what I want to get.

    2. Do you live on the West Coast? Asking because it seems like everything gets posted really late. I live by Chicago, BTW, so it might just be the time zone difference.

    • Thomas Hall says:

      1. Best of Starrcade, Best of SNME, Foley’s Greatest Hits and Misses (3 disc version), Rise and Fall of ECW.

      2. No. I just don’t sleep at normal times.

  110. AttitudeFan says:

Did you know if that rumor was true that bischoff paid some fans to run in the ring during Nitro to get that “Anything can happen” feel? Or were they some legit drunk idiots? And another WCW fans rumor was that they told fans to throw stuff in the ring which is why it hardly ever happened on WWF TV but always on Nitro.

    • Jay says:

I always hated when Trash would be thrown in the Ring on Nitro during the nWo Segments. At first it was fine because of these douchebag heels kicking everyone’s ass but by 1998 it got kinda overdone. It wouldn’t have surprised me that Bischoff told Fans to do it or try to run in the Ring since all he cared about was the Ratings.

    • Thomas Hall says:

      Drunk idiots.

  111. AttitudeFan says:

Just watched an episode of RAW in 1998 Austin was so damn over imagine what would have happened if someone was being smarky and took an “Austin sucks” sign i don’t think they would have made it out alive. Would you agree?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      Probably true yeah.

    • Jay says:

Which RAW were you watching? I didn’t see many if any Austin Sucks Signs during the Attitude Era. Your probably right though that if anyone had any they wouldn’t have made it out alive.

      • AttitudeFan says:

August 1998 when he was feuding with Undertaker and i actually remember a dirt sheet report from a long time ago where someone brought a “Rocky Sucks” sign during his 2000 run and caused near riots i will reseach it and see if i can find anything about it.

  112. AttitudeFan says:

Do you agree that the rock has to blow his promo out of the water next week? And what can he say that is any good?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Be serious. Instead of just running off catchphrases and funny lines, act like this matters. Show some heart and some fire.

  113. Jay says:

Any chance you could do TNA Destination X 2005? Since you did the other two,Against All Odds & Hard Justice from that year.

Also what Site are you getting all these Shows off of?

  114. Evan says:

KB, I’ve always wondered. Who are your top 10 favourite wrestlers of all time ?

    Let me guess your list..

    #1. Ronnie Garvin
    #2. Ronnie Garvin
    #3…..

  115. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Two things in light of the Chamber.
    1. The rules of the Chamber are very sketchy. I thought pins could happen on the steel, right?
    2. When’s the last time SD main-evented a PPV, Taker vs Kane 2010?

  116. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

    Recent ones.

  117. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

The last time you gave a TV match an A or higher?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Uh…………nothing really jumps to mind. They’re pretty rare. Do you mean recent ones or reviews I’ve done recently?

  118. Jay says:

Can you still do a Review of the Go-Home Smackdown before No Way Out in 2000? February 24th.

  119. Sully says:

    Can you review Backlash 2006?

Also I’m curious as to why you haven’t put up any Backlash reviews.

  120. SuperSteve16 says:

Hey KB, I was wondering if you could review the 800th episode of raw celebration episode. The date is the the 3rd of November 2008. Thanks

  121. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Can you review No Mercy 2007, so u can rant on HHH vs Orton.

  122. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Who are rooting for in the SuperBowl? And Why?

    -The RealSDQQKidJoe-

  123. Thomas Hall says:

IPs and e-mails are different too.

  124. Thomas Hall says:

    Alcohol?

  125. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Can you review the wife swap with Mick Foley?

  126. Jay says:

Hey KB can I request again? If so Id like to request the Go-Home Smackdown before No Way Out 2000.

  127. TheSDQQKidJoe says:

Are there any other Rock/Austin matches than the 3 Manias, Rebellion 2001, and Ss 2001. Those are the only ones i recall. Just wondering if there were any more?

  128. Jay says:

    Ok fine,my bad.

  129. Thriller says:

Not a question, but I think you skipped the ’08 Rumble

  130. Jay says:

Any chance you could do a Review of the RAW after No Way Out 2002 where The Rock challenged Hulk Hogan to their Match at Wrestlemania?

  131. Jay says:

Sorry KB but it was me who Requested the RAW after the Royal Rumble in 2003. I wasn’t trying to make you upset or anything. Just wanted to see your Review of it. My bad.

  132. vishal says:

hey kb, why dont you put some top 10 lists such as your top matches , top 10 wrestlers , top 10 cards etc. with some explaination…

  133. WWTNA says:

Can you do the Raw August 21, 2006 where Cena threw Edge in the Long Island sea and Jeff Hardy returned?

  134. noahconstrictor says:

Could you do the RAW from Nov. 23, 2009 where Sheamus won the Breakout Battle Royal?

  135. Thomas Hall says:

    The 27th?

  136. Jay says:

Hey KB can you possibly Review the January 20th & 27th RAWs from 2003 after the Royal Rumble? If you have them. Thanks.

  137. Thomas Hall says:

Actually I don’t because there was no No Mercy in 98.

  138. awesome_miz says:

KB could you possibly review WCW episode 23 of Nitro please.

P.S. Just wondering do you have a Twitter account.

  139. Jay says:

Hey KB I have a special request. Can you do a Review of the December 17th RAW from 2001? With the Y2J/RVD Title Match,Thanks,

  140. Taha E. says:

Hey KB, where can i find WWE Classics on Demand rips? YouTube perhaps?

  141. KB can you give me some tips for reviewing shows.Since you are the best at of course. No BS.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Use a consistent format. What drives me crazy is when its hard to tell what’s going on when I’m reading a review. Don’t put down every detail, because people aren’t looking for a 40 page essay on what happened. At least I’m not. If I wanted to know every single thing that happened during a show, I’d watch the show. Above all else: BREAK UP PARAGRAPHS. Nothing drives me crazier than seeing a 20 line wall of text. Most people, myself included, will skim over it and look for buzz words and that’s it. 3-4 lines is an easy amount to read.

  142. dude_d_dude says:

    Victory Road 2011.
KB will know what I’m talking about.

  143. KB can you answer me what WWE and TNA show is the best of all time.

  144. Jay says:

Can you do anymore Pre-Hogan TNA PPVs? Was wondering if you could do Genesis & Turning Point from 2006?

  145. noahconstrictor says:

    I have a request.

Could you do the RAW where Lita and Trish main evented? I’m curious to see your thoughts on it.

  146. Supersteve16 says:

Where would you place Chris Jericho is your greatest wrestlers of all time list?

  147. Taker says:

Is it true, that undertaker plans his return for vengeance in october? If he returns who shall he be facing this time? Will it be versus kane again to take his revenge of bragging rights buried alive match last year or against the nexus for their interference (personally i think that storyline is dead and the old nexus is no more there but then vengeance is taker’s style and if he wants his revenge against kane/old nexus then this is the perfect time?

  148. Rocko says:

    Did sportscenter cover the XFL?
Did wCw ever release things on DVD?

    • Rocko says:

Also meant to ask what your thoughts on the XFL were and if it could have worked?

      • Thomas Hall says:

I think it could have but it would have had to have been a lot different. First of all, when the first thing you see is Rock who has nothing to do with the league, you could tell it was going to be full of troubles. Also with a wrestling owner running things, the idea of it being fixed was always in the back of people’s minds. Finally the football just wasn’t all that good. In summation it could have worked but it needed some major tweaking.

    • Thomas Hall says:

They did but they treated it like a joke. I remember they had all of the scores for the first week and then it tapered off very fast. I remember it distinctly because the opening night was on my 13th birthday.

As for WCW, I really don’t think so. They were still in the VHS days at that point. There are some fan made stuff on DVD but as far as official ones, I’m pretty sure they didn’t.

  149. dude_d_dude says:

You’re right, he does have his good days and his bad.
I disagree though, personally I don’t find him good OR bad, I think his great stuff truly was great (like you said) but the bad stuff really just ruins it for me.
I mean wasn’t this a guy who at one point had the IC belt removed from RAW for a bit or am I thinking of someone else? And the DX stuff was really hit or miss (do they really need to beat 5 Spirit Squad guys?)

  150. dude_d_dude says:

Yo KB, after reading a few of your reviews (Royal Rumble 03 for example) and how you trashed HHH (not that I blame you, it really was a horrid match with Steiner), after reading your review of RAW tonight and hearing what Punk had to say about HHH I have to ask, what’s YOUR personal opinion of HHH.

    • Thomas Hall says:

The guy is definitely good and bad at various times. He had some classics and dragged a good match out of Khali in 2008 which more or less classifies him as one of the best ever right off the bat. In 02-04 though, the guy was awful and really slowed things down a lot due to his desire to stay on top for longer than he needed to be. Overall I think there’s more good than bad though, if nothing else due to his Foley and Rock matches and most of his Shawn stuff.

  151. Harry says:

Could you do a review of raw on april 4 2005 please

  152. Mando>Eddie says:

Saw your Nitro reviews over on Keith’s site.. – thought you’d be interested in a project I’m in the midst in.. – the guys and I that run Never Hand Over (wrestling blog with 1200+ reviews) are doing a countdown of the Top 200 Matches in WCW Monday Nitro History.. – every Mon. ending on June 1st we’re posting a five-video series with roundtable discussions along w/ chunks of the list itself.. – let me know if you get to check it out sometime..

  153. noahconstrictor says:

Hey, thought I would ask you what you think of CM Punk crashing the WWE booth at Comic-con, and confronting HHH.

    http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/239345-big-update-cm-punk-crashes-wwe-comicon-details

    • Thomas Hall says:

I think it could be cool if they actually reference it. This comes off as something “real” and that has been badly missing from WWE in the past few years. This could be cool but they have to do it right. Also, it means nothing if only the fans there see it. Even a mention on the website would help.

  154. Anonymous says:

    FYI,

Kia Stevens a/k/a “Kharma” is legit pregnant. I’ve worked with her numerous times on the indy scene. The baby’s father is Matt “Prince Albert/A-Train” Bloom. The two have been dating for awhile.

  155. dude_d_dude says:

What’s up KB, big fan of your reviews.

Personally I thought WM27 was absolutely terrible, and the main problem to me was that a lot of the buildup for matches was either rushed, poorly executed, or somewhat forced upon us, do you agree with any of that?
And if you could’ve built up certain matches, would you have done it differently so that WM actually felt like things would’ve come full circle? Or do you think it’s cool to just let feuds continue indefinitely

    • Thomas Hall says:

I thought the build was pretty good actually. The problem I saw with it was that everything felt rushed as you said. It felt like they thought they had to get all of this done in 3 hours instead of the four they had. A match was cut completely and two others lasted a total of under five minutes. You had Rock eat up 20 minutes to open the show when he said absolutely nothing. You really couldn’t hack off 10-12 of that to have the US Title match get 7-8 minutes? Evertyhing felt like it was rushed and it really hurt the show.

      • dude_d_dude says:

Yeah for real, I was also really annoyed to just see the US title match completely sacked, that was unfair.
Speaking of that, what’s your opinion on how WWE have been kinda “de-pushing” guys like Sheamus/Swagger/Barrett, these are former World Champions/Main Event material and now they’ve just been shoved hastily onto the mid-card.

        • Thomas Hall says:

There’s a big difference between world champion and main event material. With the decline of the midcard titles, the only thing that can really be done is throw the world title on someone to built them. This doesn’t make them more credible as it makes the title less credible. Swagger wasn’t ready to be champion yet but they threw it on him anyway. It’s the flaw of having two titles.

  156. Stormtrooper says:

    1. Do you see The Miz ultimately replacing Cena as the #1 guy in the company? Not immediately or anything, but a year or so down the line. I’m not basing this off of his reactions at Mania (which were as much Anti-Cena as they were Pro-Miz), rather his media savvy-ness, Non-WWE personality, willingness to seemingly do every media appearance known to man, etc.

    2. Similarly, could he eventually make an Austin-like face turn? Not a turn in that he changes how he acts, but more like the fans start loving what he does.

    3. And IF (IF) he did both 1 and 2 (which I personally think he can/will), COULD they then say “OK, now that Cena isn’t the #1 guy for the fans anymore, we can turn him” and then they turn him (again, IF IF IF IF IF, and could they, not should they).

I’m not asking if they should turn Cena, rather if Miz usurped the #1 spot, could they then be able to get away with turning him?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      1. I doube it. Cena does media stuff too which is often forgotten about. He’s perfect for marketing as he’s handsome, built well, well spoken and well rounded. hard to trump that.

      2. Maybe but it would have to be built very well.

      3. The Cena heel turn is something that is hard to pull off. Hogan back in 96 was really skeptical because it could have bombed HUGE. Now it could work very well for Cena, but at the same time I think a lot of people would want Cena to be a face again as soon as he turned.

      • Stormtrooper says:

        1. I’m not saying Cena doesn’t do that. What I’m saying is that Miz surpasses even Cena in that regard. I love Cena, I just think that Miz can ultimately attain Cena-levels of popularity.
I don’t want to say Rock-levels, but honestly I wouldn’t be totally surprised if he did. Miz is just as perfect for marketing as Cena is.

        2. Was the Austin thing built all that well? I mean all it really was was the fans starting to love what Austin was doing. I think Miz could start to garner the respect of the fans and the massive cheers that come with it. You know what, he might even be starting to get there (again, I do think some of the Mania cheers were pro-Miz).

        3. I know it’s hard to pull off, but from a company standpoint, if Miz actually did become that #1 guy and a financial backbone of the company, they might be able to afford to risk it, if it didn’t totally work. Also, didn’t people want Hogan to be a huge face again in 96? If not, then who’s to say Cena doesn’t reach that point in a couple years, especially if he’s “replaced” by Miz.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Austin had a lot going for him when it happened. The timing was perfect and he was in front of the right audience. Another thing Cena has over Miz: he’s more entertaining in the ring. Miz’s in ring work isn’t bad but it’s not great. That hurts him.

  157. Jay says:

OK well I have no idea whats going on with my end then.

  158. Jay says:

Hey KB whats going on with the Site? All Im getting is your Review from RAW last night and thats it. Whats going on?

  159. noahconstrictor says:

All right. They didn’t say, “Welcome from “place”! “Annoucername” here with “otherannouncers””. The match itself is pretty good, but the announcing kills a bit of it for me.

It’s from a house show. Back then there were a lot of shows that were like best of house shows instead of something like Raw or Smackdown. It was normal to have 3-4 different commentators and come from 3-4 different cities.

All right I have another question. A friend let me borrow the Allied Powers DVD, and in one of the matches from October 87, there is an announcer who sounds like the Aflac Duck and Krusty the Clown had a love child. Do you have any idea who he is?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      What match/company?

      • noahconstrictor says:

It was Killer Bees vs. Demolition in a 2 out of 3 falls match in WWF.

        • Thomas Hall says:

That’s in Houston it seems and has an incredibly odd/stupid trio of Mike McGuirk (woman), Bruce Pritchard (Brother Love) and Duke Doherty, who is a confusing guy. There was a guy named Duke Doherty who was a jobber but NEVER left Boston. That’s an odd name to have two of but that doesn’t sound like him. The guy’s name is Duke Doherty though, assuming it’s not Pritchard. So it’s one of them, likely Doherty.

    Here’s my question for you.

If John Cena just disappeared, who do you think would replace him? I was racking my brains trying to figure this one out, and the only person that came to mind was Orton, but I don’t think he would replace the Cena character that never acted heel-like.

Hey KB I love your reviews, I’ve been reading them since the beginning. I have a couple of questions for you.

With the recent retirements of Jericho, Batista, and HBK, and the upcoming retirements of HHH, Undertaker (as much as I used to love him he needs to go all, he has left is Wrestlemania and his returns) Rey, and Edge do you see the next few years in the WWE becoming the next New Generation Era?

Am I high or is TNA seriously trying to go head to head with the UFC this Thursday. They’ve been building up this show for weeks, better than most of their PPV’s, and Its on the same night as a free live UFC card, Have Hogan Dixie and crew lost their minds even more?

    • Thomas Hall says:

I think we’re already in the New Generation. I think I said in my year in review thing that the vast majority of the main event guys are in their early 30s or late 20s. That’s a great sign as the older guys are still around and it’s a very integrated system which is the best thing they can do.

I’m not sure on TNA. A lot of the time I question what they’re thinking. They say they’re not wanting to focus on PPV but rather on TV and then the TV is nothing special. If they think they can go head to head with UFC then more power to them but I can’t wait to see their reaction when their big idea might not work.

  163. Jordan says:

I love your reviews. They give great insight to the show and I like how they’re not play-by-play. I was wondering: did you review the Raw where Nexus debuted? I think it’d be a really interesting read if it was written at the time.

Also, thoughts on Mistico/Sin Cara? Will he be a major player?

    • Thomas Hall says:

I did do one for it but I’m not sure if it had grades or not. I do a weekly recap in the same format for the forums I’m an admin at and I just cut the ratings. I’ll post that Wednesday for the content for that day.

As far as Mistico/Sin Cara, he’s another attempt to reach the international audience and that’s a great move. Back in the 60s/70s there were tons of guys that were there for the fans of various ethnicities to have a hero to cheer for like Sammartino and Morales. They worked very well and WWE is recreating that now. With American ratings lowering, there are a ton of fans internationally that can be tapped into. WWE is doing that.

I think he’ll be a pretty big player as he’s Rey with good knees. That’s very valuable and he’ll draw in a lot of fans from Mexico. That’s a big perk and a lot of merchandise that comes with him. Good move indeed and likely a solid push.
