Great review as always, KB. You had mentioned you werent sure why Flair and Jericho were fighting, and there was a small backstory. Jericho had been sent to Raw as part of the Brand Split, and he was pissed about it. So he targeted the “biggest name” on the roster and jumped Flair after a match on his(Jericho’s) first night on Raw. Breaking kayfabe, Flair was at a point in his career when he was down on himself, and didnt think he had it anymore. SO Jericho insisted he lose clean to Flair, and to the figure four.

Did you forgot that Rob Van Dam has victories over Stone Cold, The Rock or The Undertaker during the Invasion era ?

This was certainly a great show, possibly the best PPV in 2002, however, comparisons to Wrestlemania 17, the greatest PPV of all time to this day, I’m not seeing it. I agree, it’s not better than or equal to Mania 17 in any form. As for HBK vs. HHH going on last, with hindsight being 20/20, maybe that should’ve happened, but if they kept that same closing angle with HHH’s sledgehammer attack, that would’ve been the worst way to close a great show.
