Smackdown Main Event Scene
This occurred to me earlier today when I was talking about Ziggler in the Rumble. think about the Smackdown title picture right now. It’s STACKED.We’ve got the suddenly awesome Del Rio as champion and the following people to challenge him:
Big Show
Ziggler
Orton
Sheamus
Also you could throw in Ryback, Punk and Jericho as potential challengers. That is a DEEP main event scene. On Raw we have Rock, Cena and Punk and that’s it. I’m way more fired up about the WHC right now than the WWE Title.
Boy, did things change with time.
I think they should do away with the WHC and the IC. Have ONE WWE Eorld Champ, and then have a Raw and a Smackdown Title. Just sayin
If they can transform the Del Rio character into something entertaining, then surely they can do the same with Sheamus.
All I can say is that there is a lot of legitimate contenders there for the likely World Heavyweight Championship chamber match and the World championship match at Wrestlemania.
First of all Punk isn’t a challenger. He hasn’t been involved in the WHC scene since before his WWE title run. That would be like saying Cena was in the 2012 WHC title scene because he wasn’t WWE Champ. Except for when he challenged for the WHC Money In The Bank at TLC he wasn’t anywhere NEAR that.
4 guys as legit challengers, 2 as potential challengers
So 6 potential challengers, and they can’t hit the WWE Title scene guys with a ten thousand foot pole.
Give me WWE Title any day of the week and twice on Sunday. And I like Big Show and love this ADR Face character. But they ain’t close to them.
Oh yeah, and it’s yet another match (or 2) to add to an awesome Mania XXIX card.

2. Given that he’s already lost the title and has feuded with everyone on Raw, moving to Smackdown might be necessary. I would think that’s close enough.
Eventually he could move. But he’s not there yet so you can’t put him there as it’s just speculation, not even potential.
Hell, lets throw The Rock there. And Cena for that matter. Rock could go for the WHC after he loses at Mania. And Cena could unify the 2 belts. And Brock Lesnar too. He needs something to do after Mania. Hell, everyone wants to be shocked with the Mania booking, so why not Lesnar vs. Del Rio at Mania? Sure it would kill the drawing power of the show, but why not?
And I don’t think he should move to SD. I would actually move Cena. Punk has been on Smackdown so many times, Put Cena there. Especially since I think there were reports that the SyFy contract for Smackdown is gonna come to a close at some point. If Smackdown moves to a new network, they NEED to put Cena there as a marketing ploy.
Of course, with the brand extension all but done, it’s irrelevant. Punk could win the WHC without moving to Smackdown.
