WWE And Glenn Beck

So if you listen to Glenn Beck, may God have mercy on your soul.

Now that we have that out of the way, we’ll get on to stuff that is actually news.Anyway, apparently Beck said that wrestling fans are stupid or something like that.  This may or may not have been due to the Colter/Swagger story but every time I tried to look it up my head started hurting because I was reading too much Beck nonsense.  Either way, this video popped up on WWE’s Youtube channel.  Watch the whole thing.

While I usually hate seeing kayfabe’s corpse beaten up even further and while I always loathe Glenn Beck’s nonsense, I couldn’t help but smile at hearing people far smarter than him explain why wrestling is far better entertainment than his latest conspiracy theory about how everyone is out to get your freedom and the only way to save yourself is to buy both his latest book and whatever product is sponsoring him this week.

Anyway, any thoughts on this?

Man there is a huge wrestling angle in there somewhere. Get JBL involved and return Shane-O-Mac as a militarized revolutionary nutjob.

Glenn Beck is many things. One thing he probably isn’t is someone I’d want to get on the wrong side of. I don’t know if he’s naive or just doesn’t give a damm, but this is going to provoke some sort of Conservative backlash. Maybe this is not even naivety or indifference, maybe it’s a genuine attempt to attack the FAAAAAR Right. Maybe it’s indicative of an ongoing struggle between moderate Republicans and the more extreme.I found it very odd that a staunch Republican and Conservative like Vince would choose the Far Right as their superheels.

I was actually genuinely surprised they got booed as much they did. But did I notice some boos for ADR’s ‘American is built on immigrants’ comment…..this could get tricky…I’m sure Vince would love it, he just pokes the hornet’s nest and stands back. I would have LOVED to see him cut an in-ring promo on Glenn Beck, right in his face, about how he’s an embarrasment to America and Conservatism. He’s mention Glenn Beck’s parents and it would be freakin hilarious. Who wants any part of that? Beck was wise to cry off.

So who is more powerful, Vince or Glenn?

However lets not forget the Nation of Domination – Vince will stick it to anyone he feels like. This all just adds extra heat to the charachters so I’m actually pretty disappointed that Swagger has apparently blown it.

I’m really not sure about this.

Beck’s power and influence has fallen WAY down since he left FOX News. The GOP is splintering as it is already and those on Beck’s side are starting to be seen for what they are: crazy bigoted people who only want people like themselves to have anything while making sure they answer to no one yet still get every benefit they’ve been given ever. If you disagree with them, you’re un-American and that’s all there is to it.

Did I mention I’m also a political scientist?

      • Redsox4life says:

Yeah, if Beck was so powerful he wouldn’t be reduced to being on an obscure internet radio outlet. CNN clearly would have picked him up by now seeing as how they’re trying to copy Fox News again as evidenced by them demoting the only credible reporter they have (Soledad O’Brien) and replacing her with somebody who’s bought and paid for by the GOP (Erin Burnett).

It’s always interesting to see someone categorize an entire fanbase, especially one the size of the WWE. I’m not sure how somebody that holds the responsibility of having an opinion that attracts a following can get away with saying something so silly without his fans losing interest or realizing his point of views are invalid. But then again, I’ve never really understood the person that follows or even agrees with these Beck, O’Reilly, Limbaugh types.

Being right aside, they literally just took a piss on their own angle. They couldn’t get anyone else to do this?

  5. Redsox4life says:

Very well said Dutch. Dutch showed more intelligence and rationality in those 5 minutes than Glenn Beck has shown in his entire lifetime.

Glenn Beck and the racist stance of lunatics like the Tea Party and Fox News are systematic of everything that’s wrong with America today.

And does anybody find it ironic that Fox News is so racist and so pro-American even though they’re owned by an Australian and their biggest financial shareholder is a Saudi? Hypocritical, no?

    • Chrisman says:

Ah the Saudis. Has anyone actually pointed out the insanity of the fact that despite providing the manpower, brains and finances of the 9/11 attacks, they’re America’s biggest ally in the region? Friggin nuts. You guys crack me up sometimes.

      Too political?

Not sure if you saw this version either KB

But yeah I have to agree with what they said and I think yeah they were the perfect people to do this because they were partially the reason that the idiot Glenn Beck was firing off on WWE. I don’t know why republicans think that everything they say is for the better of the country but most of them just make themselves look like idiots.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Quick point of correction: Glenn Beck isn’t a Republican. he may claim to be or claim to be whatever he claims to be, but actual Republicans are sane, rational people. People like Glenn Beck are circus clowns.

      • M.R. says:

I must say I’ve come across my fair share of radical republicans, and would hesitate to refer to them as sane or reasonable. But I suppose that’s neither here nor there.

        • Thomas Hall says:

As have I and I rarely pay attention to them. Unfortunately they get most of the media attention. I get to put up with Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell as my Senators so I get to hear it even worse than most people. It’s rather annoying.
