I’ve always been a fan of this show, mostly for nostalgia, and with the exception of two matches and the Piper’s Pit segment, I can watch this show all the way through with no problem. Also, I’ve often heard that the crowd was brutal at this show, and after watching this again a few weeks ago, I disagree. The crowd here was much better than Wrestlemania IV in my opinion. To be fair, they came alive for the better matches on the card (especially the main event) and they were silent for the not so good matches if you ask me. Overall, good show.

This is one of my least favorite Manias although I like the main event better than some of the real stinkers. The sheer endurance fest quality of it makes it very hard to watch and the stupid filler segments with the rap/Brother Love stuff.

One of my favorite bits is when Rockin Robin sings a really bad version of the National Anthem and Jesse just lays into her. Jesse had a good knack on shitting on bad segments while making it seem like a natural part of his heel persona. He is by far my favorite heel commentator, although Heenan and early Jerry Lawler weren’t bad either.

Seeing as how they used WM 27 to build WM28 wouldn’t that make this years mania the 3rd in the trilogy?
