It’s John Cena’s World

And they’re just wrestling in it.According to Meltzer, Cena is not only #1 in merchandise sales over the last month (not sure if that’s March or dating back to like March 20/21), but he’s moving five times the merchandise as #2 (not listed, but I’d assume Bryan).  Yeah Cena has a lot of merchandise, but not that much more than everyone else.

Cena is still the king and that’s not changing anytime soon.

Hogan, Rock, Cena and Austin are household names. Not just the top guy. That is where the difference is.

Bruno was a top guy. Not a household name.

Andre I would say is one of the closest to the top four as he is sort of well known but not anywhere near the top four.

There was a time were Andre was more over than hulk hogan. Many people forget just how big a star he was.

Bruno was nuclear hot in the Northeast and the Northeast alone. Nothing like Hogan, Austin, Rock or Cena.

John Cena is to the WWE today what Bruno Sammartino was to the WWWF in the 60s and 70s… it can be summed in two words that were misued on the likes of Bill Goldberg: The Man

    • frank says:

John Cena is nowhere near Bruno’s Level. Not a knock against Cena it’s just almost no one is it was a totally different era. Bruno Built the Company Cena works in.

That comparison isn’t apt. Bruno was carrying the WWWF on his back without him they never would of reached the heights they have. Cena isn’t in the same position. If he died The company would simply move on and make another star. This isn’t a insult of Cena, it’s just a different time now. WWE doesn’t need Cena or anyone else to survive now.

Cena=Austin=Hogan like it has been forever.

John Cena is a machine on to his own. I don’t feel like I’m exaggerating when I say that man is destined to be wrestling’s greatest career ever. He’s already outlasted Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan’s runs on top of WWE and looks to be nowhere near ready to slow down. He’s reached a point where curtain jerking a PPV against a broom and losing would still bring in the money. Not to mention his own natural talent and charisma.

Cena like every other main eventer is living in Vince’s world.

  7. Heyo says:

He seems to be moving away from the main event scene to the upper midcard against Bray Wyatt, which I’m totally OK with. He’s still a big star that draws an audience, and keeping him high on the card can only benefit WWE, but Bryan deserves a better chance on top than what he got in 2013.

    • M.R. says:

He’s been brought down to the upper mid-card for feuds before, he’ll be in the main event scene again soon. As he should be.

    Not surprising.
