Daniel Bryan Needs A New Dealer

He’s kind of lost in the shuffle.Watching the Daniel Bryan documentary on the Network (worth checking out if you have an hour to kill) and it becomes obvious that he’s kind of lost right now.  The problem at the end of the day is we got the big moment at Wrestlemania and now everything has changed.  Yeah he’s still a big deal and incredibly over, but we hit the big point that everyone was waiting for.  The match with Kane will be good and the story is rather good, but it’s not the top story.  He’s proven that he’s worthy of being a top guy and will be for a long time, but it’s kind of hard to go anywhere after that huge story we just finished up.

Reminds me exactly of Chris Benoit in 2004 – won the title, gets pushed with the title down to the upper midcard to fight with Kane while HHH and his boys hog the main event scene. Then in a few months when he has to drop the strap to Batista, people backstage will say his title reign was a failure.

I think the fact that he’s been off TV a lot recently and not having matches when he is on the show makes him seem more lost than he is. This is a good filler feud to get a defence under his belt and keep him linked to the Authority. They can slot him back in to face someone like Orton or Batista at the next PPV and it’ll be more high -profile.

He really needs CM Punk to come back so they can have the killer ‘who’s the best in the world’ feud they hinted at just over a year ago.

I’d say that has more to do with with his limited TV time lately.

The truth is when it comes to big PPV matches he consistently delivers, but on a week to week basis as a television character he’s a bit dull.
