Love the reviews, and enjoy reading your opinions and thoughts on Wrestlezone. I was just curious if you did a review for No Mercy 2008, as I can’t seem to see it on any sites, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Hardy/HHH match and the ladder match. Once again, love the reviews man, keep it up!

Yeah I’ve done it. I’ll put it up sometime this weekend.

Just wanted to say how much I love your reviews. This site is a great companion to the WWE Network. Infinitely better than that other site who seem to think that a review is a tedious play by play followed by a star rating

It would be great if you could signify that a review you posted is new, like you did with your Westlemania Redos, but not just for the Redos. I almost didn’t read your new Heroes Of Wrestling review because I though I already had.

Was reading through some old reviews and came across Backlash in Rupp Arena, and you mentioned living close. I also live in Lexington, and just wanted to say I’m a fan of the site, and it’s good to know a KY boy has such a popular website. Keep on doin your thing, brother.

    Thank you sir.

Small world. I used to work at the UPS over there near you. I visit the site nearly everyday to compare thoughts from old PPVs I’ve watch on the network (the greatest thing of all time), and I like a lot of your analysis. It’s good to talk to ya, I look forward to reading more of your reviews.

I agree with you on undertaker never being the top guy the company and I think that was cause he was never consistent on the mic and the fact the gimmick he had he never made it required to be the world champion, I was wondering who do you think we’re top guys in the wwe since the rock n wrestling era,

    [Reply]

    klunderbunker Reply:

    Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena, Hart.

Hi, I literally just discovered this site after reading your book about NXT: Full Sail Years. I am going to listen to the podcast advertised and become a devote reader.

I write what I am planning to be a full series of fictional books about wrestling, complete with side stories and all interconnected.

If you would want to talk wrestling and business sometime, I would love to learn more and also get some constructive criticism. I’m very new in this industry (if you can even call it that) and would love whatever I can get.

    [Reply]

    klunderbunker Reply:

Much appreciated good sir (I’m assuming).

Those would be cool to read. I’ve considered trying my hand at one some day.

If you’d like to talk more, feel free to email me. I’m not much of a critic but I’d take a look.

About how many videos do you have?

    klunderbunker Reply:

Not very many anymore. Once the Network came around there wasn’t much of a point. And my VCR broke and I’m too cheap to get a new one.

  15. travis woolum says:

    Looking to sell any?

I don’t have any left. If I did yeah I’d sell them.

Have you ever thought about grouping or looting your PPV reviews by grade? It would be cool if I wanted to watch a random PPV on the Network and could look for an ‘A’ grade one I may have forgotten about or never saw

Yep. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a LONG time now but I haven’t had the time to start it.

  20. Inappropriate Ad says:

So an ad showed up basically insinuating that a deer was about to have intercourse with a human (pic showing a deer on a human, circle drawn near crotch of deer while said crotch is near the women’s crotch and said “OMG deer attacked women and wanted her…”).

Any chance of getting rid of that ad? I took a pic and can send it if that helps. Really inappropriate (I know it is not your fault, stupid ad networks).

    [Reply]

    klunderbunker Reply:

First off, I’m sorry you to see that and to clarify, no I certainly didn’t put that in there.

I’m really not sure how to deal with something like that but in that case I would have no issue with you turning on an ad-blocker for it.

  24. Adam says:

I’m speaking as a fan of NXT who has no knowledge of any of the Undisputed era members’ careers before NXT.
And for the life of me, I do not understand the appeal of any of them.
Bobby fish and the other guy do not seem to have any character to speak of, nor distinct style that makes them distinguishable from each other, and they wear the same gear. I understand that it’s a faction, but having something to tell them apart just seems innate when trying to create a character.
They really come off as template create a wrestlers.
And then there’s Adam Cole. I find him to be slightly less generic in the other two, but not by much. His catchphrase sounds like something an amateur would come up with. Coupled with his half raised pointer finger that seems like it supposed to be an iconic pose also comes off as insanely lazy.
He talks a lot about how they’re going to take over, but they really have no intimidating presence, except when they were trying to recruit Roderick strong, the only interesting thing I saw them do since they debuted.
I’m not disputing there in ring skill. Far from it. They are quite good, and I understand why they were signed.

But it’s there complete lack of interesting character that makes me extremely opposed to them already becoming tag team champions. They really have not done anything to earn those titles, whether they be heels or no.
I don’t necessarily blame them for this. But usually the NXT riding team are quite good at crafting characters to care about. They just don’t seem to be doing it with these three. I saw they believe if you shave them all hairless, you really would have a blank template to work with, since that’s the only way I can visually tell them apart. Because there mannerisms and other aspects all seem identical to me.

If I am way off base here, I am fully prepared to hear a counter argument. But I just can’t see why they’re so popular and why they have been given such a push.

    klunderbunker Reply:

It really is designed to appeal to fans of Ring of Honor.

Cole and O’Reilly broke in as a team called Future Shock. They did well enough but Cole eventually turned on him and struck out on his own. He wound up becoming a three time (most ever) ROH World Champion and joined a faction called the Kingdom.

O’Reilly formed a new team with Fish called ReDRagon, who became probably the second best team in company history.

Eventually Cole asked O’Reilly to reform the team. O’Reilly agreed while Fish turned heel and went on a singles run. Future Shock didn’t last long as Cole turned on O’Reilly, leading to a World Title feud with O’Reilly FINALLY winning the title, only to lose it less than a month later.

Then they all left ROH within about four months and wound up in WWE.

So yeah, they really don’t have anything special in NXT, but it’s designed to be “you know who we are and you know where we came from”. That’s not the best for the WWE only fans but it’s one of those things which pretty much speaks for itself in a lot of ways.

    Does that help?
