One thing got me here.. When Hogan slammed Andre– Completely unplanned spot? The whole premise of the match was that he went for the slam at the beginning and failed but the power of all the little hulkamaniacs running wild all around the world BROTHER willed him to pull it off and topple the crooked beast in the end. To say that it was completely unplanned is horseradish. Andre the Giant was coming off of a back operation and well overweight. He hardly respected Hogan as a colleague before this program and would not have been a happy camper if he got slammed and didn’t agree to it. HH also slammed him at least once back in AWA in 1980, second to countless men who slammed the giant throughout the 70’s in his prime. Trust me. You’re off here. Not to mention Hulk was on the juice at this point in his career (look it up if you don’t believe me) and he was benching and squatting much more than Andre’s legit weight (around 450 lbs)

I’m going off what I heard in interviews from Hogan (ok I’m off to a bad start here) and Heenan. Unplanned wasn’t the best word either. From what I understand Andre said do it and so it wasn’t quite unplanned but quickly planned might work better.

Good review KB but I have to disagree with you on one thing. Hogan can move in the ring hence his match with Muta in Japan, its just that WWF/E limited him in his matches. Most people forget that Hogan knows how to wrestle then most people think. I still agree that even Hogan could’t carry Andre The Giant but it was still a good match. Sent chills down my spine watching it as a kid.

Only seen the Main 2 Matches from Wrestlemania 3 with Hogan/Andre and Savage/Steamboat but I enjoy both of them. Never have seen anything else from WM 3 other than a few highlights from the other Matches. 93,000 for that Mania was insane and may never be topped.

Not anyone who could beat up Andre? Akira Maeda disagrees 🙂

Like the site and your review style. If you get a chance check out the link on my name, it’s my review site, Never Hand Over, a couple friends and I have been reviewing for years and have over 1000 pieces up. Be well.
