HOW DO YOU KNOW THE CROWD WAS HISPANIC HEAVY? WERE YOU THERE? MAYBE YOU JUST CANT EXCEPT THE FACT THAT HE IS JUST OVER

    • Thomas Hall says:

Well the first thing I would think of is it’s in California, which is a population center for Hispanics. Then a quick check of the census data from last year says that Los Angeles has 48.5% Hispanic population, which is higher than the national average, meaning it was a heavier Hispanic crowd than over half of the country at minimum.

      Just a thought.

LOLOL was this the same interesting individual who made a big deal about the “Mexican Americans” on TNA or am I thinking of someone else

Very good PPV, asked a lot more questions than it answered. I thought the WWE prematurely ejaculated bringing Punk back so fast, but there is several new layers to the storyline (seemed like it could have ended tonight, yet it can go through to Mania and beyond). Who Nash is working for, Cena? HHH? Steph? Del Rio? Laranitis? Vince? (they all HATE Punk don’t they?). Who is Punk going to blame? Raw will be interesting.

It appears we have the classic IWC reaction though, if it’s not what they want to happen, it sucks, if it is what they want to happen, it’s predictable.

I don’t know why but this ppv just did not do it for me. Maybe because not a single match ended the way i wanted it to (besides the WWE title but i don’t count that due to the aftermath).

There was nothing wrong with it yet truth be told I just did not enjoy it….

I know the feeling well. Some shows just don’t click for some people. Happens a lot when I review some shows.

Great review I slightly liked this more than mitb as well. Christian Orton was better than Cena Punk to me but it was still great. The divas match surprised me but I think Beths getting the title at Night of Champions. Overall great ppv all throughout. Side note I can’t believe x only gave summerslam a 5.5 out of 10.

My god this was awesome. The opener was a very fun match. I can really buy a Henry title run as he is doing much better than his 2006 (I think) monster push. This time he is actually interesting. I thought the ending to Sheamus/Henry was great. I never expected Beth to lose, never. First divas match since WM 26 that I guessed the wrong winner. Kelly really has improved a lot, she really impressed me. Faces do not have a good time when they win the MITB. If I remember correctly Punk lost to Kane and Umaga during one of his MITB reigns (or whatever you would call it). Edge was a good suprise and had a really good segment. I actually thought this Orton/Christian match was the best they had. I loved the ending, it was just sick. Orton winning will probably mean either Barrett or Henry going for the title after he is done with Christian. Punk/Cena was also great. They created so many questions with the ending, its just exciting to watch the WWE right now, as they are on a great roll right now. I’m so glad that I’m going to Raw tomorrow.

PS – Why did you spread out the paragraphs more than usual?

    Pretty Awesome Summerslam,

6-Man Tag was a good opener to the LA Crowd warmed up.

Sheamus/Mark Henry was pretty solid and Sheamus going through the barricade was one of the spots of the night.

Divas Title was not bad, glad Kelly kept the Title for a little while longer

Wade Barrett/Daniel Bryan I really liked this Match as well and id like to see them do it again soon.

Christian/Randy Orton was really damn good and maybe Match of the evening. Loved the RKO on the Steps while Christian was mid-air. I liked seeing Edge and his promo,he looked great too.

John Cena/CM Punk this started out slow but gradually picked up which was fine. Punk winning was cool despite the controversy and for some reason I thought Stephanie would involve herself in it toward the end. Kevin Nash coming out nowhere was a huge surprise and ADR Cashing in MITB makes sense with the Mexico tour coming up.

Really enjoyable Summerslam and looking forward to RAW tomorrow night.

WHY did they have to put the title on Del Rio? I never wanted to see him as a world champion and don’t want to now. Let’s let everybody be world champion without working years for it.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I’d give you two names: Ted DiBiase and Honkey Tonk Man.

Honky came in with no heat and won the IC Title from the far more established Ricky Steamboat. By the end of his reign, he was headlining MSG against Randy Savage and bringing in money by the truckloads to see him lose the title because “he has to lose it this time.”

DiBiase is more or less the American version of Alberto right? Came out of nowhere, had more money than anyone and swore he would get the title somehow. Albeto has a solid resume already and has cheated his way to the title. What a great way to get him over as champion: he hires someone who has always said “it’s all about the money” to help him get the title, in essence buying it while adding in skill. It’s DiBiase/Andre but 23 years later.

      • Jay says:

Good point KB,either Nash is in cahoots with Alberto or with HHH to make sure Punk would not leave Summerslam as WWE Champion. Kinda like Ted Dibiase having Virgil as his insurance policy,Del Rio may have Nash as his.

  8. FunKay says:

Holy curveball Batman! That was…WOW. ADR is champion. I was a little disgruntled at first, but it works. Punk and Cena have legit problems here with HHH and tomorrow with the title match already set, looks to be awesome. Props to DBD & Barrett too for a top notch match and Orton and Christian for beating the shit out of each other.
