I kind of got back into wrestling here-ish after losing interest around the time Bret Hart lost the Ironman match. I think it may actually have been the return of the Bulldog that got me back in – you were way harsh on him here but it’s true, he was pitiful. His match and the Val Venis v Mankind match were the next biggest matches after the main even which immediately told me that this was a transitional-ish time.

The Attitude Era was in but pretty soon it would be spoken of as a thing of the past. DX were annoying and the HHH superheel was starting to form (yeah his original music was cool – heavy and menacing). Austin was on his way out-ish but people still didn’t seem to quite believe in the Rock. Go 6 months forward and the Rock and HHH are carrying the company like vets and boom it’s the New Era – Angle, Jericho, Radicalz, E&C etc. There is a few late ’99 PPVs not yet done KB, it’s an important time for Wrestling and me personally so please, make it so.

Which ones are you talking about? I’ve reviewed every PPV in wrestling history (well, almost. I’m working on the TNA two hour series). I haven’t posted them all yet.

I’m not sure if you remember it offhand, but they ran the whole “snakebite” angle the week before. Triple H came to smackdown with his face all messed up and even did a stretcher bit with him convulsing. He came back to give the belt to Austin but it was revealed as a ruse to get a shot in on Austin.

I feel like PPVs feel different when you watch the stuff leading up. Everything makes way more sense

Good review but man we’re you harsh back then, specifically X-Pac

Oh yeah they absolutely are different. It makes all the difference in the world.

And absolutely I was. I’ve mellowed quite a bit now that I’m not trying to imitate Scott Keith.
