Why did the two title matches go on AFTER the Rumble, which is supposed to be the main focus?

And why did Edge have to drop the title to Cena so soon after winning it? That’s a feud that easily could have been stretched out to Wrestlemania.

And say what you will about Bradshaw but nobody deserved to be squashed by Boogeyman like that.

Fair enough. I’m trying to think where I would have Eddie for WWE guys, and I dunno, Orton seems below, but at the same time Orton did have a great 2011–and unheralded one. Good review regardless man, keep it up.

FWIW, guys I could see someone putting above Eddie from 1980 onward (not that I agree with all) in the WWE (some of this matters on how you measure draw vs. in ring), note also going with just what they did in WWE/WWF:

Savage, Backlund, Piper, Hogan, HBK, Hart (Bret not Owen), Austin, Foley, Taker, Rock, Cena, Y2J… also one could make a case for Flair’s WWE career, or perhaps Benoit. If we include WCW, Flair is a definite, Vader. Throw in NWA/70s work, Funk is in too. Someone could make a case for Benoit. Ooo… Steamboat too.

Also if we are rating Japanese and Lucha dudes, gotta throw some names above him too…

Legit question though, have you seen his match as Black Tiger Mask vs. Benoit in Japan? It rocks and shows that both guys knew how to WORK.

“Eddie was indeed a very good if not great wrestler, but based on the things you hear about him now, you would think he was Ric Flair. He’s more about the level of Randy Orton or so.”

I like your reviews, but this is such a baffling comment. If a guy has tons of 4*+ matches and gets over as a heel and a face in CMLL, AAA, ECW, WCW, NJPW, WWE and has arguably the best juniors match in NJPW 90s, has the best cruisers match in WCW 90s, is the biggest draw in the WWE (which by 2004-2005 he was), they are doing something right.

Even in WWE, Guerrero was legit amazing once he came back. His run with RVD, matches with Rock, the Smackdown Six, feud with Edge, Eddie and TAJIRI was a great team and they actually made the WGTT look more legit than they have before or since, feud with Cena, the early matches with Angle, feud with JBL, feud with Rey, work with Batista around his death. Guy was money and had a connection with the crowd that can’t be overlooked.

I just don’t get how anyone could dispute Eddie? He’s beloved by your Scott Keiths, Dave Meltzers, DVDVR crew. One of the best in the ring, on the mic/character (for example, him and Benoit were comparable in the ring, but in terms of character and worth as a wrestler, Eddie > Benoit), a huge draw.

Really for 2000-2010 WWE who would you put above him despite Eddie only geting half the years? Shawn, Jericho?

Just curious as to why Eddie gets the short stick bro.
