Thought of the Day: The State of the Smackdown World Title
Given that Punk is out hurt, it’s clear that we need a new PPV main event.Apparently that’ll be either the six man or the ladder match. No mention of the other WORLD TITLE MATCH was mentioned at all for a main event. Instead it’ll be a non-title match or a #1 contender’s match for the same world title. That says a lot about where the title is on WWE’s level of interest.
While I agree with you as a whole, in this instance, I can’t blame them, and in fact I agree with them.
The World Title picture is pretty meh right now, with Big Show and Sheamus for yet another match after Sheamus lost clean twice.
The 6-Man is a Main Event feud that technically ended the last PPV (and later added Hell No).
The Ladder Match is John Cena, and is another storyline getting loads of air-time (granted it wasn’t popular, but it was all over the TV).
Big Show vs. Sheamus in a Chairs match is not a PPV Main Event. John Cena or even Ryback getting revenge on The Shield is.
