Ryback should be able to maintain his character despite losing. He has the same problem that all characters in the Goldberg vain have, Once they lose they can’t draw anymore. In today’s environment with so many ppv and tv to fill each month. He’s going to have to learn to get over despite losing.

Is no one looking forward to the Rock Punk match at the rumble?

Somehow I find this Report a little far fetched. I think WWE knows what they are going to do between Royal Rumble & WM 29. This just seems to be the IWC Sites reporting on something because the News has been slow since before Christmas.

  3. Haiku says:

Well, if we’re talking about that making up for Rock’s massive payday is a concern, then yes, that may be an issue (See; Survivor Series 2011). But, it’s not like WWE didn’t have nine freaking months to think about this

  4. chris says:

so what your saying kb is that you don’t like long term booking?

    • Thriller says:

There is a big difference between long term booking and putting the entire title picture on hold for months. Ryback should have been WWE Champion by now, but instead, he will never be as hot as he was because Dwayne wanted to face Punk.

      • Thomas Hall says:

        This.

Once Ryback lost the first time in the Cell, his star power fell through the floor. Look at the buyrates for the Cell and then Survivor Series. They fall WAY down once Ryback lost the first time, and he would have won (likely) if Rock hadn’t had to face Punk in Jarnuary.

There’s a distinct difference between someone thinking that Hornswoggle stuff was funny and using it to fill up a taped throwaway show that wasn’t going to be watched by anyone and not having an endgame for a programme that’s been booked 6 months ahead of time.

    • Thomas Hall says:

You’re missing what I’m saying. It’s not them not having an ending to a program booked six months ago. It’s that the program was booked six months ago in the first place.

      • Joe says:

I have to agree with you there KB. I mean I hate the fact that The Rock was allowed to get a title shot at the Royal Rumble without earning it kayfabe wise. I do not have a problem with the match happening, but my problem is having a part time star getting a title shot six months in advance. It makes the rest of the full time roster look really bad.

You’re taking a WZ news report seriously? Thought you were smarter than that Klunder

    • Thomas Hall says:

Seriously? Hardly. This is more common sense than reporting.

      • Remix says:

No, KB it really isn’t. A report alleging that WWE doesn’t know where it’s going this close to ‘Mania with Rock is making shit up that the eejits reading it will buy into. I mean come on, am I supposed to buy that WWE are more worried about the reputation of the Royal Rumble match than they are about using Rock to draw more money, or that WWE, the company that booked a main event a year in advance doesn’t have a plan for three months time?

        • Thomas Hall says:

It’s also the company that put new shows on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, one of which had a show long bit involving a 90 year old woman giving birth to a leprechaun with a hat, cigar and beard. The same company being surprised that booking Rock vs. Punk six months in advance or booking Rock vs. Punk in general might be a bad idea wouldn’t surprise me at all. Keep in mind: I question WWE’s ability to open a can of soup, let alone be competent more than once a year.
