Forgot to bring this up: TNA did have one very cool addition to its shows at the time: The catwalk ramp. They never, ever should have dropped that.
They brought it back only one time since 2010 (Bound For Glory 2012) but now that they’re permanently away from Theme Park Freeloader Hell, they should totally bring that ramp back for good.

Boy, does this show look stupid and contradictory in hindsight given what would happen at Bound For Glory that year.

One thing I don’t get about that finish: If Hogan was the all-powerful authority figure and thus had the power to change things, why didn’t he just restart the match so that Abyss could
win the title? It’s not like he would have been fired for doing so.

And if I’m not mistaken, didn’t this show officially start the trend of guys who were the main focus of Impact not making the PPV yet PPV slots would be given to guys who only appeared on TV once or twice a month? Several guys who were heavily on Impact (Pope, Sting, Hardy, RVD, Team 3D, even Orlando Jordan) were nowhere to be found on this PPV while guys who were barely even on Xplosion, let alone Impact (Magnus, Shannon Moore, Generation Me) got matches on the PPV.

With booking like that, is it any wonder why TNA’s PPV buyrates started going on a downhill descent at this point?
