What is the Austin/Hart match you think is arguably better than the one here?

It was sort of like Cena Syndrome. Instead of letting people like him. You were told you must like Rocky or there is something wrong with you. It always seems to happen when the wwe tells you who to like, as opposed to letting fans choose themselves.

On top of that he wasn’t very good at that stage. No argument he got miles better with time, he was just in over his head at the start.

Why did Rocky become so hated? I can see the fans disliking the character, but with such enthusiasm?

Funny how this short period was supposed to be WWE at it’s lowest ebb From where I’m sitting, nearly 2 decades later, that era of Hart/HBK/Austin/Taker/Mankind is the greatest in Professional Wrestling. Buyrate Schmyrate, this is the apex.

This WrestleMania always interested me since it took place during the WWF’s ultimate low point. Good review of one of the more interesting shows in company history.

You got away with saying this?

This was when he had a “knee injury”, which had a bad case of Idon’twanttoreturnthejobtoBretsoI’llsayI’mhurtandnotlosetohimlikeamanwould-itis.

    Has Becca read this? lol

I still agree with the statement that Austin vs. Bret SAVED this show in spades, no question. I also want to comment on two things you mentioned in your review KB:

    1) You said it was first mentioned at this show, for the first time, that Undertaker has never lost at Wrestlemania. Although I’m sure you have watched this recently, go back and view Taker’s match against King Kong Bundy at Wrestlemania 11, and it was during that match were Vince mentions Taker being undefeated at Wrestlemania for the first time.

    2) I respectively disagree with Taker being a terrible champion in 1997. He may not have been the “focus” like the champion should be, but in my opinion he had a very good run as champion that year and it’s by far his best reign ever.
