Someone brought this up on the forums last night and it’s an interesting question.Who do you think is the funniest promo guy of all time? For me, it’s Flair. When he would get rolling and ranting about making Nikita Koloff his gardener and that his shoes were more expensive than Dusty’s house he would have me in stitches.
Foley and Rock were great, but for me it’s Austin. His stuff with McMahon was priceless and the What? stuff is awful now but at first it was hilarious.
I know he’s getting a bad rap now because of his comeback stuff, but Rock from about 1999-2001 was about as brilliantly funny as any comedian, let alone wrestler. He was legitimately the reason I watched week to week as I felt like I needed to be there to hear what he’d come up with next. No one else is even close in my opinion to Rock of that time period.
personally Austin when he went the funny route could be hilarious, E&C were just gold every week, Angle had it down brilliantly as did Mick Foley
generally I find these guys funnier than the Cena / Rock type who just sound like they’re trying to make every sentence a punchline and it can come across as really forced when it falls a little flat
Edge is certainly up there for me. The raw after he beat Cena at summerslam had me rolling. “people in the cheap seats you were wrong! hey kid guess what? when you grow up you’ll still be wrong!!”
Punk is great too and his comedy is often underrated.

Paul Heyman
Foley’s always had great timing
Savage and Piper where my favourites for comedy unintentional or not. Close second to Angle before he want crazy.
