So they became an offshoot and WWWF disassociated itself from NWA? I always thought AWA disassociated itself with NWA.

  Both of them did. The WWWF was a member of the NWA back in the 60s and then again in the late 70s.

And people still think the NWA is viable?

I mean I’m so damn confused by that chart. It splits like 10 times and into more then 2 sects, and seemingly has not been one unified championship in 50 years.

Also, why is the AWA in there, weren’t they NOT part of the NWA?

  The AWA split off from the NWA back in 1960. It’s like a stepson of the NWA.
