I Was Wrong About Punk vs. Lesnar

That was AMAZING.  I said they couldn’t pull off a convincing fight but they certainy did and it was incredible.

I was wrong.

After catching the encore late last night, it really was a great, great match. Punk’s probably the smartest wrestler around when it comes to putting these matches together

So Brock has no more matches left for this year? I heard he only had to wrestle three a year but I forgot that he actually had two with HHH already – which says a lot about that feud.

I was hoping that they could do the rematch in the Cell. That would be the one instance in the history of that PPV where the rivalry actually warrants the stipulation.

Damn, did Lesnar need that win bad. I was hoping to see him and Orton hook it up but I doubt we’ll see that for a good while with Orton’s apparent heel turn.

That’s part of the problem. From what I understand Brock only has to wrestle three times a year, and since we got to see HHH vs. Brock in back to back months, we might not see Brock in the ring for another four and a half months.

That’s pretty much how I was thinking. He’s never gonna be the biggest draw but he will typically always give you the best match on the card ala how HBK was percieved.

I’m a huge Punk fan so ill ask you as I consider you unbias. Is Punk easily becoming “the best big match performer”? Over the past 2+ years every match is MONEY. Agree or Disagree?

    • Thomas Hall says:

He’s WAY up there and is essentially becoming the modern day Shawn Michaels: fantastic in the ring but not the same kind of draw as the top guys. The thing to remember is since his hot start in 2011 he’s had Cena, Rock and Lesnar to carry the buys of the shows he’s been featured on. WE’re still not sure what kind of money Punk can bring in and that’s his biggest downfall.

In the ring he’s excellent though. I can’t put him ahead of Cena but I can put him on the same level.

Finally, somebody who agrees Cena is the best big match performer the WWE has.

I would actually say from an in ring perspective Cm Punk is slightly ahead of Cena. That’s not a knock against Cena who’s a fantastic in ring performer. Punk has just been on one hell of a roll. Though Cena is the bigger draw.

        • M.R. says:

You’d be wrong, but to each his own.
