To Heyo, Hogan’s contract never said WCW had to use him. Hell, it didn’t even say he had to be in the main event, just that he had creative control in the matches he was booked in. The reason WCW kept using him in main events was they were convinced he was still a huge draw, plus the fact they were paying him so much.

And it looked like they were getting desperate around this time, with Russo and the Radicals gone.

Hence why Russo AND Bischoff came back at the same time. I can’t wait for KB to get to that part. I think it was around the summer.

Hogan was so hated by the IWC at this time Wade Keller of all people suggested someone like Tank legit assault him just to drive him out of WCW.

  3. Heyo says:

Ah, nothing like a truly desperate WCW thinking Hogan will save them again. Hey, at least when WWE turns to Cena as their savior, he can put on a good match with almost anyone, and he’s willing to put someone over occasionally(when he doesn’t, I blame the booking more than him given what we know about his real life attitude). Hogan…yeah, I don’t have to say anything else.

Well, to be fair. Hogan was at a low point in his career.
