Monsters can have a fairly solid shelf life–
Unbeatable monster/giant–takes a loss
Midcard jobber to the stars–can put over some new talent (“THAT’S 300 POUNDS CESARO JUST LIFTED!!!!!”)
Switch to a comedy act and a face turn which can usually result in some minor title push (tag team champions)
Switch back to heel act, either as jobber to the stars or heel tag team (“because he’s sick of making you laugh”)
That’s at least 5 years worth of material assuming you’re not completely godawful (and even Khali was around for a while and worked all right in a number of those low midcard, comedy roles).
Good article. Diversity and proper role playing is a very important factor and it’s overlooked way too often.
