I enjoyed the Smackdown vs RAW stuff and this was a good payoff to it. The announcers bickering is pretty funny stuff especially Tazz picking on Joey Styles.

The roster from 07-10 was also pretty loaded.

This show was good, but you could see in 2005, that ’08-11 were going to be getting lean in terms of star power, especially at the mid-card level.

JBL, HBK, HHH, and Flair all starting to wind down. Angle, Christian, and Booker going to TNA, the Benoit situation, and Lashley, Carlito, and Masters not working out for various reason. Not everything there is WWE’s fault, clearly, but they didn’t have a cache of new guys that had been built over a decade ready to replace that attrition beyond Edge, Orton, Cena, and Batista. The mid-card suffered hugely and nobody got an real traction after those 4 became the only 4 real main eventers.

05-06 was peak Angle, always loved the wrestling machine gimmick. His match against Taker at No Way Out is a classic and might be Taker’s best match that didn’t include Shawn.
