Oh man how much better are these shows without the Authority? Once again Sheamus and Reigns not only looked like big time main event guys but it actually felt like it too. I really hope the ratings don’t make Vince go back with Cena again. Cena and Lesnar can stay away. Let the newer guys have the spotlight and book the company around them.

The storyline here should be simple. Reigns loses Sunday, then Sheamus says you can’t have another shot til you go through the entire League of Nations. That sets up the next 2 PPVs. And I’m on board with Reigns winning the Rumble again. I mean why not?

And I swear the Uso’s better not break that Trombone on Sunday. That payoff needs to happen at Wrestlemania. #DidTheNewDaySaveUs?

Final segment aside which yes did go a little too long I thought it was a good Show overall. And we had multiple stories going on as well. ADR dumping Zeb,Rusev & Lana back together,Titus O’Neill trying to bring Stardust back to being himself, and the Faction warfare stuff.

I wonder if they felt they were short on time, maybe from the MizTV segment (just guessing at an example) so they rushed Swagger/Stardust.. then were like, “oops! false alarm”

A few more small thoughts. First, the last two weeks feel like we’re transitioning into a soft reboot. Realigning the women, splitting Alberto/Zeb, reuniting Lana/Rusev, moving away from – and barely even referencing – Orton, Cena, Taker, Kane… there were ZERO AUTHORITY SEGMENTS TONIGHT… these are all bonuses and transition to the new generation of stars. Unfortunately, those stars just don’t shine as bright, yet. But it at least feels like effort is being made at building them.

A small gripe I do have with the product overall – the “universal HD/LED set”. I get it, budget wise its super easy to take the same 2 sets to all your shows. But all the shows having the same set design as RAW/SD takes the shine off the PPVs. They could go a long ways in really knocking RAW and SD down alittle on the production/lighting/ect side of things and then the PPVs would feel bigger. Right now everything feels like they’ve got it ratcheted up to 10, and then that’s one less thing they have to go to in making the PPVs feel more important.

I thought this was the easiest RAW to watch in a long time. Longer matches help the 3 hours really breathe. When you start with a 16 man match, the thin-ness of the roster right now REALLY shows up when you have to reuse guys later in the show (Strowman/Tommy, Rusev, the closing segment). Down Orton, Cena, and Cesaro, no use of even Neville, Slater, Ascension as enhancement, and some that made things feel like it was stretched a little thin. They could have had the Luchas against Ascension and done the New Day schtick on the stage post-match.

My girlfriend who is usually in the room but never really paying too close attention did ask why Ziggler is always on there when all he does is lose, which makes me chuckle.

    *(O’Neil) means some Stardust time.

    likewise, sorry KB.

This is what I get for doing the treadmill before the show. Thank you again.

Loads of Kudos for actually watching the show.

I’ve been really disinterested since Survivor Series, tbh. Indeed, the time flew by tonight, but nothing of interest happened, nor has anyone been enhanced whatsover even though all the Top Guys are gone.

Have to ask, do you give WWE any chance of getting 100,000 fans at WrestleMania 32 given how dull things have been since Mania 31?

        • Thomas Hall says:

Well my wife and I are going so they’re doing something right.

WWE will buy the tickets themselves to get that record.

I’d be ok with Charlotte turning heel (which she seems more natural at), but the only outcome I see coming from that is Nikki returning as face to take the belt back, since Nikki is a hero to little girls everywhere. Where is that damn sarcasm font?!?!

The patriot lock makes Stardust tap*

    Sorry KB
