Thought of the Day: That Brock Lesnar Announcement
The one where his opponent will be announced this week. Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come.Smackdown is going live two weeks from today and for years it’s been a dead, nothing show with matches airing again the next week on Raw with no mention of them already happening on Thursday. By airing big news like this on Smackdown, WWE is starting to get some buzz going on Smackdown where it might be worth seeing again. Do that multiple times and people might actually start watching.
I’m thinking it’s gonna be Vampiro from the old WCW… Wouldn’t mind Scott Steiner either
This announcement is very unwrestling to me. Why announce his opponent without a feud or even a promo to establish it? It feels like they hedging the story entirely on the outcome of Lesnar’s UFC comeback fight which could work but doesn’t really work if that opponent is someone like Orton who IMO wouldn’t be a good fit against Brock. Now if it’s someone off the wall crazy like Goldberg or the Rock I guess you could build it as a showcase match.

I’m hearing from my sources and dirt sheets it’s going to be Scott Steiner. Steiner is still a huge draw within wrestling and with his in ring ability and crazy mic skills, fans will love these two huge behemoths go at it. I can’t wait to watch this match! The build up to the fight alone will be a masterpiece!
What do you think of Meltzer reporting how people within the company think its Orton?
And how do you feel about people looking at the WWE 2K17 Goldberg trailer and thinking its Goldberg? You can briefly see a Suplex City sign somewhere in the trailer.
I’m leaning towards Orton but Goldberg would be……well it would be something.
I think that was in reference to Brock being the cover guy.
Isn’t Smackdown becoming it’s own Show again with the split anyway.
Still not sure how they plan on filling 3 hours of Raw with a depleted roster every week, it’s already a drag to sit through.
This is why I thought the brand extension rumors were bullshit. I thought they know they can’t do a split with Raw being 3 hours. It really concerns me what Raw is going to be like.
Do you want Orton Owens or someone else as the opponent?
Owens would be cool but I’m not holding my breath.
