I absolutely loved this time in WWE. They actually had a midcard pumping and had guys like Cody Rhodes, Miz, R-Truth, and Mark Henry really trying to be different and get over in their own feuds and for the most part it worked.

Henry and Truth in particular were on the run of their lives at this point and it shows throughout this show.

You also had guys like Del Rio, Sheamus, and Barrett who were still interesting and hadn’t been decimated by the bookers yet and were turning out excellent work. You also had Morrison who was one the razor’s edge of finally getting over as a main event player until Punk just grasped the brass ring and refused to let go.

Plus Mysterio was doing some of his best work as he was just feuding with everyone( literally had faced Truth, Punk at the two previous PPVs, lost MiTB to Del Rio because Del Rio removed his mask, and Miz situation regarding the new Raw World Title).

You see WWE starting to dip their toes in the water of Daniel Bryan as they aren’t sure what they have their yet but they know he can go in the ring and just has something special that they are trying to explore.

Also those two main events were perfect stories and blow offs. I wish Punk had gotten to just Nash and HHH on the way to beating Del Rio at Survivor Series and starting his mega run as a champ but it’s not a perfect world.

Didn’t this all culminate in a sledgehammer on a pole match or something stupid at one of the pay per views?
