cheers aprechiate that I beleave it was his 1st match in the company right?

  2. Sebastian Howard says:

Holy shit, do you really think that Shane is going to wrestle Lesnar? I thought it was just something to bump up Lesnar’s cred as a badass but if they’re going that way…. yeah that’s awful.

Has anybody thought about how Summer Slam 2017 will look like? Smackdown will have their own Women and Tag Team belts, there will also be the Cruiserweight title. Thats 9 straps! Hopefully WWE brings back the Hardcore Championship so we can witness a card full of title matches, yeah!!!

  4. Bloodbuzz Bunk says:

This is a good show that would be great if had a better ending and wasn’t so overstuffed. Just cut out the Smackdown women’s match, IC title match and the preshow and this show breathes better.

WHY OH WHY DID BROCK LESNER COME BACK? if he severes a perrpose I have no idea what it is you know all the moves he’s going to do before the bell rings corner change’ german suplex’ german suplex’ german suplex’ german suplex’ F5′ ellbow strikes’ punches’ F5′ ellbow strikes’ F5 F5 ‘F5’ ellbow strikes. and what a surpise LESNER beats an enstablished top guy without breaking a sweat it’s why I didn’t watch Live form Madison Square Garden 2 years ago as the headline match was the most pointless in WWE history. How much will it cost to make LESNER go away and never come back? and who was the the person who won a world title in thair PPV Debut #sorry for the rant.

  6. Greg says:

Did not like Finn winning. Exact same to me as Roman Reigns. Zero character. Zero anything.

    • Ted says:

Interesting take though I don’t agree.

      • Greg says:

I say this because we haven’t had time to get introduced to him. I can’t see a difference between him & Reigns (well except now Roman is apparently a giant dick and likes to crash wedding celebrations).

Too much, too soon. I can see why people don’t agree with me though. I thought more introductory time was needed. AJ had that Jericho feud to help establish him (a few promos were solely Jericho building Styles up). Balor didn’t get that. I think that was going to be a problem but then he got injured so it’s a moot point now.

  7. Awesome_Miz says:

I actually think Cena’s post match antic actually has some sort of meaning. I believe even if the Shane return was already planned or not doesn’t matter cause I believe the real Mania match was meant to be Cena vs Taker. I think John was just hinting at him and Taker having the match at next year’s Mania.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I’m not sure about next year’s Mania but it was pretty strongly confirmed that it was going to be Cena vs. Undertaker in Dallas.

  8. Jay H (the real one) says:

Yeah not overreacting at all to the ending with Brock & Shane are we. I don’t see that leading to a Match with the two of them.

Overall I thought Summerslam was a solid Show with John Cena/AJ Styles being Match of the night. Also was I the only one annoyed at the New York fans for booing the New Title?

  9. M.R. says:

While I like Brock I think the problem with him is there isn’t a clear direction to go right now. He beats the streak and then destroys Cena at Summerslam to become champ and is the biggest monster the company’s seen in years. The idea would be to build someone up to slay the monster and get the rub of a lifetime, which they tried to do but the fans just shit all over Reigns so they (I’m assuming) audibled and had Rollins cash-in in the main event. Now Brock’s still just the unstoppable monster and I’m not really sure who you put over him, but it’s gotta be somone they plan on going all the way with the way they were all in with Reigns.

    • Bloodbuzz Bunk says:

That is sound logic. If Finn can survive the ratings drought during football or Dean/AJ get the Smackdown ratings to rise in the fall on top of all the merch and gate sales than those are the three guys I could see to be the one to beat him at mania.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Indeed. None of this stuff builds to anything and it’s just one match after another with nothing really connecting them.

  10. Bill Lesnar says:

Bill Lesnar wonders what the reasoning was for Reigns going on after the championship matches?

Bill Lesnar also thought Reigns wanted the title? why disqualify himself…

Bill Lesnar doesn’t like the smackdown title match in such a filler spot. The ziggler thing has been a waste. Should have been Wyatt who had Ambroses number last year..

Maybe Brock can chase the title with Balor as mega face? Bill Lesnar remembers Heyman saying many times that Brock wanted the title. After Undertaker crashes the rollins match, that whole idea/desire has been dropped. Having finished the Taker program, one would assume that he would go straight for the title.

  11. M.R. says:

OH MAN HOW BAD WAS THAT?

Setting up Shane vs Lesnar for Mania. Oh man. That is just awful for everyone not named Jay (#itsalwayssunnyinjay). Ending on a blood draw oh my. Fire Vince. Save us pg14. That stephanie acting. Oh man. #firesteph. I forgot everything else that happened because this show was 19 hours long #Ohmanhowbadismydemntia?

  12. Thomas Hall says:

Goldberg is probably the second strongest option and that makes my head hurt.

  13. Ted says:

Ok that is pure heel behaviour and I don’t get it? Reigns has come off as a jerk and it was cemented attacking an injuried man. Was this a heel turn?

    • Thomas Hall says:

Alas no, even though that’s certainly how it came off.

      • Ted says:

I do have to love the crowd chanting don’t come back after reigns left the first time. Yep he’s totally getting over with with USA storyline.

        • Thomas Hall says:

I know you’re not going to buy this but I wouldn’t put any stock into a New York City crowd chanting anything.

    • That guy from Germany says:

      Of course not!
He could rape Lana. As long as he’s doing it for america, he’s the good guy.

  14. Mau says:

Sasha had to get hurt when Charlotte dropped her on the ropes in hwatever shit she botched

  15. M.R. says:

I figured the F5 was planned, but I’m not sure it necessarily means a match between the two. What was supposedly botched according to Meltzer? It looked like Lesnar was clearly trying to bust him open the hard way.

  16. Aeon Mathix says:

I remember every single week and moment leading up to that match that shane was going to have a replacement or something. I literally refused to believe it was happening until the bell rung. This very well may play out in the same scenario

  17. M.R. says:

Yeah I think Shane just got the F5 because he came out to check on his Smackdown guy. Not convinced they’re going in a Brock vs. Shane direction.

I hope the Smackdown Women’s title is the same as Raw’s women’s title but with blue rather than red. The more titles that look the exact same the better. Forget creativity.

    • Thomas Hall says:

According to Meltzer, the ending was a combination of planned and botched. The Shane stuff was full on planned (fairly obvious).

Like I said: I REALLY hope I’m wrong on Shane vs. Brock, but honestly who else do they have? Cena again? Ambrose again? Heaven help us, Goldberg again?

      • Aeon Mathix says:

Joe and shinsuke would be rather awesome. Balor is a stretch

        • Andrew says:

          KB,
Based on the the crowd chants, the video game ads and teases, and other teases and hints in interviews, does it seem likely to you that this is the way for Shane to bring Goldberg in as his surrogate? Just a thought after watching the show. Really enjoyed your review, as always.

      • That guy from Germany says:

The Shane stuff could actually lead to Lesnar vs Goldberg.
As revenge for the beating, Shane brings the one guy that Lesnar wasn’t able to destroy. Sounds stupid? Yes, but it’s WWE you know.

  18. Aeon Mathix says:

Wow waayyyyy overreacted at the shane lesnar thing. Shane is smackdown, lesnar was destroying a smackdown guy so shane came to help. The only thing it it will lead to is brand surpremacy bs over the fall and foley/steph are forced to suspend lesnar bscause shane will threaten them. I bet you 100 dollars a shane lesnar match will not come from this. Chill out. If anything a triple h/shane match still seems to haunt us.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I’m very tempted to take that bet. I really hope I’m wrong but if I’m not, and this is in the same year where (allegedly) the only thing keeping Undertaker from losing to Shane was Undertaker saying how stupid it was, I really wouldn’t be shocked.

  19. Your Eternal Reward says:

    This brand split ehhhhhh……..

Instead of duplicating the titles why aren’t Foley and DB cutting deals with each to get title matches. Foley wants a shot as the WWE Championship so he lets the womens and tag titles be defended against Smackdown guys and has to trade say Cesaro to Smackdown to get someone of Raw a shot.

Bam there is an actual rivalry going on as everyone would need to ‘compete’ to get title shots and the brand rivalry would make sense. Instead they are just going to duplicate the titles and the big SD vs Raw match will be Lesnar killing Shane’o at Survivor Series or Wrestlemania or whatever.

and the main shows are just going to get worse once NFL starts. At least AJ Styles got a clean win over Cena, he really needed that.
