I was pretty surprised Daniel Bryan lost but the more i think about it i think they don’t want to risk him in a Ladder Match right now or if ever again. Plus im glad he’s changed his style a little since he was cleared to return.

I also got a kick out of out Nakamura’s backstage promo. Kinda think he and AJ will be Last Man Standing at Money In The Bank.

Personally I’ll be happy if Bryan is never in another Ladder Match again. It risky given his history of concussions and unnecessary as that’s not the kind of thing that connects him with people. Bryan shines as a technically gifted underdog who has the people behind him. He doesn’t need the spotfests to be over so why place him in them?

So that being said what better way to use him now then to let someone else ride the momentum of beating him into MitB? And Rusev handing Bryan his first real loss since being back, and completely clean at that, could be huge for him.

My only issue with it is that it seems to completely invalidate the whole Lana saying English is holding Rusev back thing. But my money says that ends with English and Lana eventually both turning on Rusev and finally turning him face.

Weird scenario, but perhaps Bryan lost because they aren’t comfortable with him in a ladder match so why not have him lose to give Rusev some steam.

    • Greg says:

Why not just have him not try to qualify for it? Have him in a personal thing that distracts him from wanting to.

Pancakes are hilarious. Always have been. But I’m not surprised in 2018 people need a joke explained to them. If anyone needs an explanation as to why Nakamura’s promos are hilarious just let me know.
So on your accord all midcard champions should be in the ladder match right? Then which one of them gets to win it since a champion losing is clearly prohibited.
Then Rusev wins and God forbid we can just enjoy the month-long tease that maybe one of our favorites is going to go somewhere. But no. We have to give it the old ‘hmm this doesn’t make sense.’
Oh and no, there is not a tag team ladder match. When the teams cut promos it’s because they want to be in the main match. Because tag teams are allowed to compete as singles. Ya know, like Cesaro and Xavier did.
Good show this week. Still holding out hope that with New Day’s win next week it’ll mean the start of something special for Kofi or E.
    My pancakes are ready.

    • Thomas Hall says:

      Egads you’re rather salty.

      1. Pancakes are delicious, not funny.

      2. Of course not, as you would be able to tell if you read what I said.

      3. Yes Heaven forbid we question something that doesn’t make sense. How dare I do so?

      4. And we’ll see. I’d hope there isn’t a tag team version but it’s far from outside the question.

    • ted says:

Yesh you’ve gotten very bitter since you left the funky bunch.

  5. Ted says:

So raw and smack down had teams talking about winning money in he bank. So is the tag team one happening or not?

    • Thomas Hall says:

It’s not clear at the moment, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it added. Not confirmed or announced yet though.

      • ted says:

Thank you sir. I sometimes can’t tell if this company sets things up to mean something or sets up things because reasons.

  6. ABMorales787 says:

As far as I can tell, NO ONE gets the pancakes deal.

My guess it’s like the cereal and the ice cream. They want to make merch off it.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I still can’t believe that they didn’t have ice cream for sale at Wrestlemania last year. I was even looking around for it.

  7. Undying says:

Bryan is pretty much bulletproof at this point. Any loss will only fuel the fire that much more.

  8. Yaz says:

The main event was likely just Vince being mad that Rusev is over on his own accord and his chants have been drowning out big matches lately so Vince is all “You want Rusev? Well you got him!” and purposely making him go over the biggest non corporate backed superstar in years.
