Well the Smackdown title matches were good, the tournament was solid, but uninspired and turned worthless when Shane got involved (what a shocker), Strowman lost almost any credibility he had built thanks to that and you had 4 old guys hijacking the main event. Star power is the only thing that keeps this above KOTR 95 as worst show ever

This company is just a mess. Direction is baffling. They are very lucky true competition doesn’t exist. Show sucked, unfortunately I can’t get away from the network because I do enjoy the old content so much

    • Sebastian Howard says:

Same, as much as I’d like to make a statement or whatever by cancelling the Network there’s too much old shit on there that I want to watch.

      • Liam Fenech says:

Think of it this way I cancelled the network because as cool as the old stuff is I know if I keep ir I won’t be able to stop myself watching the Current PPVs as they are splashed all over the network so that’s why I decided to go cold turkey with the network still be here to read the reviews though and I’ll bring it back once Lesners no longer champion besides it will all be there when I come back with new content added!

I feel that the WWE should rehab Finn Balor to possibly take the title away, that’s who they should’ve been building their brand around all along or maybe even call up an Alister Black or someone from NXT.

This Event showcased everything that is wrong with WWE in 2018:
    – MORE than questionable venue
    – The whole JBL thing taking place beforehand
    – bringing someone like Hogan back, who was thrown out in a scandalous way not too long ago
    – promoting a stupid “Best in the World-“Tournament for the sake of nostalgia with People like Angle, Mysterio, Hardy and Orton
    – giving Shane the win in that Tournament even when he wasn’t in there in the first place
    – book the same old Matches since MONTHS (New Day/Bar, Styles/Joe, Rollins/Ziggler)
    – the whole Brock Lesnar thing that doesn’t need any words except of “WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN”
    – throw away Shawn’s In-Ring-Comeback
    – 30-minute-old-timer-main-event that means absolutely nothing and is a chore to sit through
    – nearly 4 hour runtime

    – and last not least: refuse to push new Talent

It’s just depressing that WWE is somehow the “END GOAL” for 99% of every american Wrestler. There is no other company that treats young talented Wrestlers as poor as WWE does. I wouldn’t compare the modern WWE with the WCW-Russo-Era (it’s not THAT bad) but I would compare it to 97/98/99-Era WCW where the old guys got all the Spotlight and the “work horses” were just there to deliver watchable matches.

I’ve been looking forward to this review ever since I read the results.

  6. Undying says:

I was laughing through that entire main event. My gosh I can live with the old guys coming back and doing a squash or a segment like Taker did with Cena at Mania but these nearly half an hour matches need to stop.

  7. Aeon Mathix says:

Drew Mac wins the rumble and claymores Brock’s head off at Mania for the title. A man can dream.

  8. Bryan K says:

I don’t understand why they would squash lesnar…. possibly for free publicity when Lesnar shows up in the UFC? Also Squashing Stroman? it just doesn’t make any sense booking wise.

  9. Sebastian Howard says:

The Lesnar title reign is so depressing I’m really considering just not watching Raw anymore, why should I when NOTHING is going to happen?

  10. Sebastian Howard says:

I was much more mad than you about the Shane thing because well first off it was just STUPID, like why is Corbin getting kicked out of the match but Shane’s allowed to get into the tournament anyway? And now Shane’s the best in the world!? But what really bothered me was that there were so many possibilities with Miz winning it and doing an obnoxious heel routine where he called himself the best in the world, he could’ve used the heel heat to lead to a championship match with AJ, win the title and go on to wrestle Bryan at Mania. Even Ziggler winning would’ve been seen as a push but no Shane won a tournament he wasn’t even in against Ziggler who had already wrestled two matches.

“We had about two and a half months of Lesnar not being champion, with almost two weeks of that being spent with the title vacated. Now we’re RIGHT BACK WHERE WE WERE LAST YEAR but with no Roman Reigns to come and save us. Who in the world is supposed to take the title from Lesnar now? Strowman just got squashed, Rollins and Ambrose are going to be fighting each other for a LONG time, and…..dang who else is left? McIntyre? I can’t imagine they’d pull the trigger on him, even though it would be a good move at this point. Let’s just get it out of the way: Lesnar is probably holding it until Reigns gets back isn’t he?”

My guess is that they blow off Rollins/Ambrose by December, have Lesnar beat Strowman at the Rumble and then have Seth win the rumble or ec and have him beat Lesnar. That way you have someone who the crowd actually LIKES as champion and can end this depressing Lesnar title run. Just terrible that they gave it to him again, back to Raw having NO momentum or excitement until Rumble season.

Just awful that they gave it back to him but I think that’s the best long term plan they have at this point. idiots a

Agreed Evertone who’s tuly mad about this should cancel there network subscriptions like me it’s porbably the only way to make Vince see sense also how must you feel if you’re a main eventer on Monday nights there is no motive to wark hard making RAW pontless

  13. Heyo says:

A reliance on old men, shock value, horrible booking decisions involving the world title(s), and shooting the future of the company in the foot?

It’s like WCW never closed its doors and/or Russo got rehired.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I was expecting that comparison and it’s really not that bad. If nothing else, the old guys aren’t staying around permanently and some of the younger and more talented people are getting the spotlight.
