The Revival Reportedly Asked For WWE Releases

I mean…can you blame them? The Revival might want out of WWE and really, I can’t say I’d be upset. I’m a big fan of the team and have been for a long time but my goodness they’ve been wasted on the main roster. They debuted the night after Wrestlemania 33 and somehow haven’t won the Tag Team Titles once. We’re in the middle of Bobby Roode and Chad Gable, a makeshift team, holding the belts and the Revival can’t get them?
I know they’re not exactly suited for the main roster style, but that’s on WWE instead of them. If you want a team that wrestles like the other teams on the main roster, don’t set them up as the old school team who wrestles long, drawn out matches. That’s on developmental and the way WWE has set the thing up. Revival is a great team and knows how to work the old school style, but if WWE isn’t interested in utilizing that, it’s a waste of everyone’s time.
I knew they were going to flop on the main roster. Their wrestling style contradicts with the sports entertainment niche WWE has and even if they moved to SmackDown, which would’ve been a vastly better place for their gimmick, they might’ve been undermined by poor booking.
It doesn’t help that the team experienced two horribly timed injuries early onto their run. When a star goes down like that because of injuries, chances are they’re not getting pushed in WWE.
It’ll be a shame if The Revival do leave the WWE, but it felt like they weren’t a good fit.
As for Mike and Maria Kanellis: I expect to see them both gone after WrestleMania. Mike Kanellis never impressed me whenever I saw him and the only reason he made it this far was because of his wife Maria. The gimmick they had going for them was fun, but it was never going to last.
If nothing else, they should be fine. Mike Kanellis is still liked on the indy circuit and Maria Kanellis continues to take the breaths of men away with her look so I expect them to do well for themselves. Maybe they’ll make their way to AEW like The Revival, but we’ll see.
Mike and Maria Kanellis asked for their release as well.
Now that one doesn’t surprise me.
Yeah, can’t blame ’em at all. They’re a great tag team and it’s on Vince for not doing anything with them or not knowing how to do anything with them.
They were killing it in NXT as NXT is about professional wrestling whereas the main roster still has far too much of Vince’s sports entertainment nonsense all over the place. There’s also the fact that they have a main roster with around 90 wrestlers, many of whom are signed just so WWE can keep anyone else from signing them.
They may be the only thing that could get me interested in AEW. Hopefully they sign anywhere else though. Revival v Briscoes is a match I’d watch ROH for.
See you AEW boys.
