So John Oliver Doesn’t Like Some Stuff WWE Does
WWE was the focus of Last Week Tonight…and it didn’t go that well.
It’s mainly about the business practices in regards to how WWE treats its employees, which has never been the best. Oliver talks about the lack of healthcare or an offseason, which have been problems for years. While there are some context issues (some of the clips are 15-20 years old), he does a good job of not being ridiculous and does point out some of the good things that WWE has done. The main thing though is that Oliver wants the fans to chant/bring signs about this to Wrestlemania, which isn’t out of the question. There isn’t a lot that hardcore fans won’t know, but it’s worth seeing from an outsider perspective and Oliver is rather good at this kind of thing.
As much as we the fans, and they, the promotions, don’t want a union of some sorts, I feel like it would be best for the wrestlers.
