I’ve read rumors that Brock is retiring at Mania 36. I know you aren’t that fond of him (or maybe its just him being around the belt), but he is sadly one of the last larger than life guys we have left and brings that must see fight feel that everyone else on the main roster seems to lack. It’s why i’m not surprised they keep bringing in legends and making matches such as Taker vs Goldberg. They may not be good quality but they generate interest and revenue because of who they are. I can’t say the same about any of the modern stars which can be attributed to people like Reigns and Rollins not being very interesting outside of the bell ringing to WWE’s awful booking.

”This is finally the end of the parade of summer shows and” Is it G1 Climax 29 Time??

    Overall, a solid PPV.

-RAW women’s championship match was good. I really liked the Sharpshooter on the turnbuckles. Not sure who’s next for Becky.
-Ricochet is a walking Jackie Chan movie and that’s meant as a compliment.
-Bayley/Ember Moon sucked the life out of the place. It was just a very clunky match.
-Charlotte/Trish was great. Attention other legends, that’s how you do it.
-The Fiend was cool, but I worry about the crowds cheering him.
-Would ya look at that, Brock brought his work boots last night. Great match and I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

My only real gripe is how much talent was left off the card. I know you can’t fit everyone on there, but this company has an embarrassment of riches right now as far as talent goes.

Not every show can be WrestleMania. I think it makes the wrestlers who make the PPV feel special. You want a spot, earn it.

      • Mike M. says:

Which is why I said that everyone can’t be on the card. I also then point to Dolph Ziggler, Goldberg, Ember Moon, Natalya, Apollo Crews, and The IIconics as those who I don’t feel earned the right to be on the card last night.

        • NightShiftLoser says:

I’ll agree that Apollo was a weird choice, but the IIconics had a title rematch (weren’t those abolished?), and who better than Moon and Natalya for title matches? No one else was close to earning one. Maybe do Becky v Nattie and leave the other off. Usos v OC would have been better than Bayley/Ember. Ziggler/Goldberg I had no issues with, as it was a fun segment, and the big four should have a special attraction.

          • Mike M. says:

I thought they were abolished too. I agree with leaving Bayley/Ember off. If not for the one Uso not being allowed into Canada, The OC/Usos would have been a fine replacement. I feel like Trish was the special attraction and Goldberg just felt like a tack-on to make up for his last appearance. Oh well, hopefully we’ll see some fresh faces and feuds tonight.

I wasn’t going to watch this with Brock being champion but my son really wanted to see the show. Pretty predictable outcomes except for Seth winning the Universal Championship and getting me hooked back into wrestling. To me, Brock is very boring and him as Universal Champion just sucks the life out of the whole thing. Seth didn’t have a very good run last time around so I hope they give him better opponents. I’m pretty sure Brock will get his rematch but I hope to God he doesn’t win it back. I’d much rather see Seth take on AJ again, Zayne, Drew, Finn, Wyatt or Strowman. Anybody who busts their ass and works to be a champion. Although, I wouldn’t be against Brock taking the WWE title from Kofi and taking a fresher course with Brock.

Question is who’s left to feud with Rollins? Are they really going to go back to Baron Corbin? Joe? Zayn? McIntyre?

As things stand right now, there really isn’t anyone ready.

I’m thinking that’s what makes the next week or two interesting. With Summerslam out of the way, we should be able to see more of Heyman’s vision and more of his stars. That could make for some interesting changes.

      Or Lesnar in a rematch.

  6. Jay H says:

I would give Summerslam a B as well. Brock’s best Singles Match in a long while, Bray Wyatt’s re-debut, I enjoyed the RAW Womens & US Title Matches alot, Trish & Charlotte lived up the billing,Kofi/Orton too. I also liked Goldberg running through Ziggler and making up for his last outing.

  7. Dmxfury says:

Great moment(s) from Bray. Very cool. Seth 😂. Whatever. Get away from the boyfriend crap and do better on twitter

  8. Hamler says:

I’d also give it a B. Pretty good show top to bottom.

  9. BestSportsEntertainer says:

    I’d give this show a B.

Rollins/Lesnar, Charlotte/Trish, and Kofi/Orton (minus the ending) were all really good.

I can’t say enough good things about Wyatt. Simply incredible stuff.
