If AJ Styles has turned face, then it’s par for the course. After all, spontaneous character changes are a fairly common happening in WWE as Vince doesn’t really care much anymore whether you label someone as a face or a heel.

I enjoyed Charlotte vs. Bayley and I dug the fact that we actually got a finish. I figured that Sasha would certainly interfere in order to keep Bayley from taking the fall but, to my surprise, that didn’t happen and Bayley actually won. To be honest, I think Bayley needed this as this was really the first time she didn’t seem outclassed by Charlotte and I thought it was easily their best match together.

I’m not crazy about Strowman vs. Miz & Morrison. Again, this is a match that has Vince’s fingerprints all over it as he’s done these sort of throwaway matches title matches in which the outcome is known the second it’s made. Miz and Morrison are a good team and this is ultimately just another chance for Vince to show what an alpha male Strowman is at the expense of a top team as Strowman will never come across as being in any danger.

I think it’s time they moved on from the Sonya and Mandy deal. Last night made twice that Sonya had cleanly beaten Mandy and Sonya has really stepped up her game the past month so. She’s obviously much better in the ring than Mandy and she’s delivered some really good promos. Unfortunately, Mandy will probably be the one to have focus because she’s with Otis, and Vince is said to LOVE Otis, and because….well…just look at her; she’s basically the physical embodiment of what Vince believes the ideal woman should look like.

Both IC title tourney matches were strong this week, good stuff all around from all four men. I see Sheamus possibly costing Jeff Hardy in his match with Daniel Bryan while I could see Corbin doing the same to Elias in his match against Styles. The IC title has been so poorly used for so long that, frankly, it needs someone like Hardy, Bryan or Styles at this point. Sure, Elias would have a somewhat fresher feel and this would be his first WWE title win but the title needs stability and credibility brought back to it and Elias still has a ways to go.

Why do I have this feeling that the main piece traded to Raw for AJ will be Corbin? Because that will fix Raw’s ratings

I like moving AJ back over to Smackdown. He was doing fine on RAW but he seems to more of a Smackdown guy. I think it’s anybody’s ballgame for the IC Title but it’s been a good Tournament. Interesting move to have Braun defend against both Miz & John Morrison at Backlash but they can also stretch out the Bray Wyatt feud.
