Long time reader, first time poster here. I just want to say I’ve been reading your reviews for awhile now and I’ve noticed over the past few years your reviews have become almost lifeless.
Seems like you just recap what happens almost half heartily and don’t really react at all to big moments and spots. I like to hear more of your opinion on big moments then just moving on. Both Sasha vs Bianca and Seth vs cesaro had some awesome moves and counters that I’ve never seen before and you just ignored them like nothing. Not to mention bad bunny absolutely killing it and the miz and Morrison putting in a performance of a lifetime to help get him over and you again just underselling it. Seems like you’ve become numb to wrestling from how much you’ve watched.

He’s also been reviewing shows non-stop since Wednesday, so there might be some burnout. I’ve only watched Takeover, Prelude and Smackdown up until the big show. He’s done every show from every company he has access to.

I do agree, though. I thought Lashley/Drew, Cesaro/Rollins, Bunny and Priest/Miz and Morrison and Banks/Belair were awesome. AJ and Kofi are in my top 5 midcarders on Raw, so they get an upvote along with Omos commiting legal murder. I was bored though with the women’s Tag and Shane/Strowman so those drop it a bit.

Yeah been reading him for over ten years. Definitely not as good as back then. Miss the all capital letter mark outs and snarky remarks throughout. Just follow out of habit now

      • Thomas Hall says:

The smarky remarks are harder to do in real time as I’m trying to keep up with the show live and can’t exactly pause to think them out. As for the lack of marking out, I have indeed changed as a reviewer to someone more analytical. It happens to everyone over time.

I feel you have improved vastly over the years. Older reviews were more “raw” but could be distracting. I feel you definitely get your feelings across (love the Tamnia hate) along with play-by-play. It’s not an easy balance but I haven’t found other reviewers close to your quality.

          • Thomas Hall says:

Much appreciated. And yeah I did play them up a bit more back in the day when this was a hobby. When you’re doing a good bit more, it can be a little harder to be as creative/amusing every time.

They did have some awesome moments and I said the matches were good. I’m not sure how much more I can do than that.

Cesaro/Rollins and the main event were both very good. Bad Bunny was impressive. Everything else felt flat. The crowd did seem dead and based on the weather and subsequent delay I’m not shocked. Hopefully the weather today is more cooperative and the show has some more energy. Oh, the set looked great too.

I really liked the Drew/Lashley match. I’d give it a B+. Second best match of the night behind Bianca Belair and Sasha in my humble opinion

  4. Patrick says:

I think cesaro/rollins was at least an A. That match was amazing. And bad bunny was awesome out there. I also feel that deserved a higher rating. Same with sasha and bianca. At least an A. I dont usually praise wwe like this but that first half of mania was awesome. Only one bad match.

  5. CrazySole says:

I think the Cesaro /Rollins match was way better than a C+, I would’ve gone with B+, it was that good imo.

  6. Gregory says:

You undersold the hell out of that Canadian destroyer by bad bunny. Unacceptable idiot boy

  7. Ryan says:

I’ve never heard of a Tag Team Turmoil where there was only one actual tag team in the whole match. Yet somehow they managed to make it so much worse by having the most boring 2 people in all of wrestling win it. I have a feeling Natalya and Tamina are gonna win the belts as well, not that the women’s tag titles actually mean anything at this point.

I was there live and the crowd was basically dead for everything but bad bunny. Most depressed crowd I’ve ever seen as they got rained on at least twice. You had to sign a waiver and do some stupid health survey before getting in. The weather was so bad there was a huge line for ponchos.

An excellent first half of WM 37. It was so good seeing Fans back, Vince welcoming us in, the Set is amazing, etc. I definitely got a little emotional throughout the night at times. Night 2 should be just as good and if you disliked this maybe you shouldn’t be watching anymore.

  10. Caleb John Undahl says:

Well I loved the bookend title matches, I popped big time for Cesaro, Giants killing people is fun, a Puerto Rican Bunny did a CANADIAN FREAKING DESTROYER!!! (unbotched to boot) and Liv Morgan is hot. I really can’t complain.

As long as all but 1 match don’t suck tomorrow, I’d call this Mania a return to form. I enjoyed the show, and I was watching with a lapsed fan and someone who never really watched before, and they thought it was really good. I’ll say B for tonight!!

  11. Dragon says:

This felt like a Wrestlemania? I think you better go back and watch some past WMs again. This felt like Raw with a big production. No emotion in this show. All matches felt like tv matches. Go back and watch 5, 6, 20, 30…….now those are wrestlemanias
