    Alright here’s my take:

Darby vs Punk needs to close the show. It just does. Darby is a superstar. Punk is a legend, and a GOD in Chicago. This should be awesome, especially with Punk seeming very motivated. Give Darby a few false finishes (I can wait to see how close the fall is for the coffin drop). This is going to be special and about 60% of the reason I bought the show.

I want to be completely clear here:
I am a Chris Jericho superfan. I own both of his books. I listen to Fozzy a lot. I’ve seen and studied every mainstream match he has been in. He is is in my top 5 showman and in my top 5 pure wrestlers ever. He is the Greatest of All Time in my book.

    HOWEVER…

Chris is 50. He is a 7 time world champion. He has NOTHING left to prove. MJF is truthfully the youngest and fastest rising star in pro wrestling.

My point is, MJF 1000% needs to win this. It should be a great match, but MJF needs to win to end this definitely.

It’s not often that I consider the World title the third most important thing on a card, but it’s happening due to the circumstances of the show. Omega/Cage II should be a really good match, although not terribly important in the grand scheme of things and is probably gonna be watered down by interference.

Young Bucks/Lucha Bros 32: Electric Bugaloo on steroids should be a great spotfest. I, like you KB, am terrified of what theyre gonna come up with for the ending considering the Bucks are the Fast and Furious of pro wrestling. Still, there should be a nice moment when the Bros win the titles (at least I hope

Baker and Statlander are both awesome and should have a great match, albeit with no drama on the winner. It’s an easy story with Statlander as the otherworldly monster face who has beaten Britt before, but Britt being better and more conniving than last time

I get what they mean with the Forbidden Door idea with companies working relationships not being this open before and company invasions and all that, but I could do without them beating us across the heads with it. That all being said, Moxley and Kojima should be a good fight that Moxley should win. He’s a good upper midcard dragon for someone to come slay and this should build his credibility up even more.

The battle Royal should be fun at least. Conti has gone from raw prospect to crowd favorite talent in a hurry and while far from a lock, would be my top choice. Rosa makes sense too, but I think a winning streak to set up the showdown suits her better than a flash battle Royal win. Jay is just coming back so I expect her to last but not win. Rose and Shida are your token “favorites but not favorites” in this match (commentary plays them up as huge threats but nobody expects them to win), Cargill would be dumb with her lack of experience but could be the final monster for Conti, Hayter wouldn’t be great considering her allegiance with Baker is new but again a dragon for Conti works. Bunny and Ford are a solid heel alliance that will fall through because hot blondes never work well together and Conti can gain revenge. The joker is also a dark horse pick always but nobody outside of Tessa would be a big enough get to win over this crop of talent and star power. I like the addition of S1kye Blue and she could be the Hobbs from last year (earns a full time contract after a good performance) although that may be more Midwest bias than anything. The rest are good names to fill things out (Riho is a former champion, Velvet, Swole, Sakura and Abadon have had title shots, Rebel is affiliated with the champ and one of the matches monsters) I expect to have fun here.

Speaking of fun, two power brawlers hitting each other harder than should be humanely possibly for 10-12 minutes sounds like a blast right? Miro should win after dominating the last couple minutes. I have a feeling somebody might be coming for redemption. It may be bad. It may even be… SUUUUUUPERBAAAAD!!! (Yes I’m a Kip Sabina fan! Sue me!!!)

If there was ever proof that not every match needs 10 minutes, a giant 50 year old commentator with a bad hip vs a glorified producer/trainer with very basic technical ability should be a pretty solid example. Can’t the producer appreciation party happen at the bar after the show? I guess I won’t be mad if it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes

Matt Hardy has been worthless to me for about 15 years now, but I like Private Party and Angelico so majority rules. I’m pretty indifferent to Jack Evans as he’s just all flash to me. I like Orange Cassidy and I’ve loved Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus for a long time. I’m not terribly familiar with Yuta, but I’ll take it over Stunt and Chuck wrestling in the same match. Nothing more than a fun way to get the crowd warmed up

I haven’t been this excited about a show in a good while. Probably even before the pandemic even. It’s hard to get super excited for me since I’ve literally been watching since I popped out of the womb and watched shows as early as 1975. I’ve studied many different styles, so to be truly excited is rare for me. However, between the the combination of the return/debut/possible swan song of three of my top 5 wrestlers currently, a renewed hope for women’s wrestling, and three of my top 5 future legends on the card, I really am excited for this show. It has something for everyone (Dream match, title matches, international, spot fests, power brawl, etc)

If it lives up to expectations, I may tour this a my show of the year (Money in the Bank is currently in the spot)

If Danielson is arriving at this show how do you do it, KB?
