So I definitely don’t know contracts so maybe I’m way off, but I actually don’t really see how the Ali situation hurts Ali in the long run? He’s bored and unhappy at home of course, but they’re still paying him, right? So worst-case scenario, which is what sounds like is happening, is that he’ll run out his contract at home like Brodie did. I imagine every wrestling fan knows what’s going on between WWE and Ali, so it’s not like this will hurt his star power… he’ll go somewhere else and be beloved as the guy who fought the WWE.
Definitely not a good situation for a guy who wants to perform, but I don’t really see this as WWE having a ton of power, they’re just being petty.
The last part is where the problem comes in. People can forget about you in a hurry if you’re not around, and that is going to be the case if he doesn’t wrestle for a year plus.
