A C+ for Wrestlemania 3? What a piece of shit. You’re not good at this.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Indeed. Along with talking about its importance in history and how it is worth seeing. It’s not a show where the quality matters compared to how important it was in wrestling history.

      • Peters says:

I don’t think you understand your own ratings or what they are supposed to mean.

        > its importance in history and how it is worth seeing.

        C+!

        > It wasn’t bad or anything but I could have gone for Davis taking a loss here. This really should have been the Harts defending against the Bulldogs again but at least we got a great beating.

Well, no, since Davis had just turned heel and it wasn’t time for a comeuppance.

And Dynamite was beyond wrecked and wouldn’t have been able to work a tag match. They took a month off after Wrestlemania III.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Dynamite wrestled a regular tag match 11 days before this. He certainly could have done it here.

          • Peters says:

They worked very short matches against the Hart Foundation because his body was destroyed.

          • Thomas Hall says:

The Wrestlemania match wasn’t even nine minutes. Smith doing 6-7 by himself and Kid going in for a few was completely doable, as evidenced by Kid going in for a few minutes here. It absolutely would have worked.

          • Peters says:

But Danny Davis getting the shit kicked out of him worked a lot better.

The crowd was rabid for it, it protected Dynamite, and instantly made Davis the heel you absolutely wanted to see get his. The booking also allowed for more rematches between the Bulldogs and Harts down the road if Dynamite healed up.

          • Thomas Hall says:

Oh Davis’ beating is an all timer. They could have managed to make both happen: the beating and the title match. Then again that might just be my old school brain finding it weird to not have a title match on a major show.

          • Peters says:

Wait until you find out what the main event of the first Wrestlemania was.

  2. Zach says:

35 years later and the Steamboat-Savage match is still the cream of the crop. Every wrestler should strive to be that good.

  3. Dragon says:

Still the best Mania of all time in my book. Even better than X7 IMO. Biggest main event ever, best match ever, good storylines and best characters ever. Bell to bell the technical wrestling may not have been as good, but it was more entertaining overall.

  4. Prophet says:

You’re becoming more like Meltzer as Hogan/Andre continues to fall in the ratings.

    • Thomas Hall says:

It held steady in the 5000th review.

And I’ll do star ratings when Sonnen wins a title.

      • Prophet says:

He’s 2 wins from the Heavyweight Title in Bellator. Get ready to eat your words! He’ll win the tournament and finally win a title for his dad. I still believe.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Well I still believe in the TBS site’s statement that WCW programming will be back and to keep checking in for updates.
