On Raw, WWE hyped up an airing of Summerslam 1998 this Sunday night. That’s fine and a good idea as it’s an awesome show, but at the same time, why would I want to tune in at a specific time for one show when I could pull it up and watch it at any given time? With the full PPV library on demand, it makes these sort of specials kind of a waste of time. The same is true for people watching the live http://onhealthy.net/product-category/pain-relief/ stream. I missed Wrestlemania Rewind tonight, but I know I can watch it any time I want. It defeats the intended purpose. Either have the library available on demand (far better option) or stop hyping these airings up as a huge deal.

Thought of the Day: They Are The Nation
Of Domination?
As you might have seen on Raw, it seems that we’re getting a new Black Power stable with Xavier Woods as the Malcolm X character, leading Big E. and Kofi with possibly Titus O’Neil and Mark Henry joining. THis is an idea I’ve heard batted around forever and in this case, why not do it? It’s not like any of these guys are lighting the world on fire otherwise, so why not give them something to do? The last team was around like 15 years ago so it’s not like it’s a fresh idea.

I really like this set as there’s a lot of rare stuff instead of all the usual stuff you would expect on a set like this.
Thoughts/omissions?
Thought of the Day: The Legend of Brock Lesnar
As you may have heard, Paul Heyman’s client Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker’s Streak at Wrestlemania, becoming the 1 in 21-1. Since then, Brock has been seen once on WWE TV and…..That is the most brilliant thing WWE could have done with him. For the last three months, Paul Heyman has reminded us of Brock Lesnar. We’ve heard of him doing the impossible and being the monster that even the Undertaker couldn’t stop. As time has gone on, that’s the image that people have gotten in their heads: Brock Lesnar as an unstoppable beast that destroyed the Undertaker without breaking a sweat, instead of Brock Lesnar having a war with Undertaker and barely beating him. The longer you know that he’s lurking, the bigger an impact his return makes. They’re building up his mystique and that’s the best thing they could have done.

WWE Second Quarter Financials Coming July 31
Including updated Network subscribers. This should be very interesting.
Thought of the Day: Oh Yeah That Happened
Regarding Brock Lesnar. So I’m watching Countdown (really fun way to kill an hour and a Tuesday tradition for me) and the topic is Returns. One of them is Brock Lesnar and someone said it was in 2012. It hadn’t occurred to me that Brock’s second tenure is actually longer than his first (he debuted the night after Wrestlemania XVIII and left after Wrestlemania XX).
One of the people talking about Brock coming back was Punk, and the first thought in my head was that Punk would know how awesome Brock is as Punk fought him at Summerslam. The same is true of Cena. Then I heard the year 2012 and I wondered how it could have been that long. Then I thought “oh yeah. He had that year long feud with HHH.”
The trilogy between HHH and Brock Lesnar might have been the least interesting big match trilogy of all time. It’s just totally forgettable and left no impact at all. It’s sandwiched between the match of the year in 2012 and the match of the year in 2013 and means nothing, all things considered. The match headlined Summerslam, was the second main event at Wrestlemania XXIX and headlined Extreme Rules. That REALLY should be something memorable but there’s just nothing there. I remember Brock vs. Big Show better than I remember the HHH feud, and I literally couldn’t remember Brock vs. Big Show two days after it happened.

Santino Marella Announces The End Of His In Ring Career
Due to another neck injury. I’m sure he’ll still be around to do, ahem, comedy.
Emma Reinstated
According to WWE.com. This makes me feel better as it seemed like she really did just make a mistake. I mean, I have an issue believing she can’t afford $21 or whatever it was. I’m sure she’d rather have a stupid comedy bit about her instead of being unemployed.
Emma Released
This really shouldn’t surprise anyone, even though I found her explanation for what happened to make sense. If nothing else, it’s a way to cut another salary without looking heartless. She’ll get a job somewhere I’m sure.
