And that’s about all we know.The announcement was almost completely lacking details. We have no information on how much WWE made, how long the contract is for, how long before WWE can air shows on the Network, if Smackdown will stay on Fridays or be live or pretty much anything else. More will be announced later I’m sure though and I’ll keep you up to date.

Concerning Rock, Lesnar, Undertaker, RVD etc.One of the most common criticisms about wrestlers such as these is that they’re part timers and shouldn’t be given top spots. My reaction to this: why in the world shouldn’t they be?
Here’s the thing about guys like this: yeah they’re part timers, but they sell tickets. WWE is supposed to stick with their people that don’t do as well instead of someone like Brock who is a guaranteed draw because of some loyalty? That’s great. They can be loyal the whole time business goes down because they don’t want to offend the feelings of some of their employees.
Look at Punk for example. Yeah he worked hard for a year as champion and had a very entertaining run. That’s all well and good, but Rock sells more tickets and merchandise than him with relative ease. WWE would be foolish to stick with Punk because he had been there all this time instead of going with Rock who can make them a lot more money in a hurry.
This part timers shouldn’t get pushed theory comes off like some of the markiest stuff in the world. It’s a business people, and if the part timers do the most business then that’s what we’re going to get. That’s WWE’s thinking and it’s very logical and successful.
I’m sure you’ve heard of at least two of them.
Oliver Grey – He came back from a long time off due to a knee injury and got squashed by Camacho. The writing was on the wall here.
Mason Ryan – The guy just never got better. Somehow he was considered to replace Reigns in the Shield.
Shaul Guerrero – She was gone earlier and didn’t do anything once she came back.
Danny Burch – Not a bad jobber but little more.
No word on if there are more coming but I’ll keep you posted of course.
Unlike Daniel Bryan of course.A real B+ player is someone like Sheamus. He’s capable of having a very good match under the right circumstances, stays over, has a good look, has a solid resume and can easily slide into the main event scene if need be. That’s a very valuable hand to have in the company and he’s still young enough to be turned into something with a bigger impact. Nothing wrong with that at all.

He’s kind of lost in the shuffle.Watching the Daniel Bryan documentary on the Network (worth checking out if you have an hour to kill) and it becomes obvious that he’s kind of lost right now. The problem at the end of the day is we got the big moment at Wrestlemania and now everything has changed. Yeah he’s still a big deal and incredibly over, but we hit the big point that everyone was waiting for. The match with Kane will be good and the story is rather good, but it’s not the top story. He’s proven that he’s worthy of being a top guy and will be for a long time, but it’s kind of hard to go anywhere after that huge story we just finished up.

And they’re just wrestling in it.According to Meltzer, Cena is not only #1 in merchandise sales over the last month (not sure if that’s March or dating back to like March 20/21), but he’s moving five times the merchandise as #2 (not listed, but I’d assume Bryan). Yeah Cena has a lot of merchandise, but not that much more than everyone else.
Cena is still the king and that’s not changing anytime soon.
This is a good sign for WWE.As I’m sure you know, Evolution (or at least most of it) reformed on Monday. I actually don’t have an issue with this for one reason: it makes sense in the story. I can’t count how often I’ve heard people say *insert stable here* should reform for no reason other than there are four or so people with nothing to do. That’s not going to work and it’s the same problem with turning people for no good reason. This team makes sense and fits the story as well as serving a purpose. That’s a good thing and hopefully it works here, which it should.
With a number of buys that would usually make Vince want to jump off a building.The show did under 400,000 regular buys but with the 660k+ that it did on the Network, the show set a record for most people viewing the show, according to WWE. That was the plan, and it’s not even taking international buys into account yet. That’s a VERY good result for WWE.
