Ezekiel Jackson Gone From WWE

Contract expired yesterday.  This can be filed under “what took so long?”

Jeff Jarrett Announces Global Force Wrestling

Nothing more than a name and logo at this point but more announcements are coming.

It looks like something from 1991.

Undertaker Update, A Bit More Context To The Loss

If true, this makes things a lot more understandable.Allegedly Undertaker was injured coming into the match and couldn’t move around that well.  The word on the street is that Undertaker made the call to end it because he couldn’t perform at a high enough level anymore.  I genuinely wonder if the F5 on Raw had something to do with it.  If true, there you go people that insisted they have contact before Wrestlemania.  You got what you wanted and now the Streak is over because of it.

Also Undertaker suffered a concussion/possible neck injury and was hospitalized as a result.  No word on his future or plans for tonight at all.

Thank You All

Second biggest day ever and had I posted a review we would have SHATTERED it.  Thank you all so much and I’ll have the review up tomorrow before Raw, barring any unseen issues.

Also thank you all for supporting me with the site and buying the e-books.  Those things are the reason I’m down here this weekend and having the time of my life.  Thank you all so much for letting me live this life as it blows my mind more and more every day.

Plug For An Amazing Site

I’ve discovered these guys while I’m down in the Big Easy and I’m sold for life: Parkingpanda.com.

It’s a simple idea: order parking permits in advance.  Down here for Wrestlemania and Raw, it’s $15 to park per show, cash only.  Parkingpanda listed a TON of parking areas within half a mile of the show, with some far under the cost.  I got a pass for each show for $4.50 each and THEY WORKED.  I found the parking lot, walked maybe ten minutes and was at the Super Dome.  No issues, no waiting in line (it was a good sized lot but very few cars as the regular price is higher than the site’s price), easy to get in and out of, it was great.

They’re available in most major cities with passes available for most major sports teams and arenas.  Check them out.

The Greatest Night Of My Life

I’m back at the hotel and still not back down to earth.  A very, very quick summary.Top 3 Mania ever, maybe even higher.

I have never freaked out more than when the glass shattered.

The place was STUNNED when the three count went down.  I literally couldn’t move.

I became a Daniel Bryan guy and I have a piece of the confetti.

More when I can remember what planet I’m on.

Wrestlemania XXX: This Is It

Wrestlemania XXVIII
Date: April 6, 2014
Location: Mercedes-Benz Super Dome, New Orleans, Louisiana
Commentators: John Bradshaw Layfield, Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler

It’s finally here. After months of waiting, we’ve finally arrived at the biggest night of the year. This is Wrestlemania, where everything changes as the WWE year comes to a close. All the major stories come to a head tonight, as we have Daniel Bryan facing HHH for a spot in the WWE Title match, Undertaker putting his Streak on the line against Brock Lesnar, and John Cena fighting the disturbing Bray Wyatt in a battle over Cena’s legacy. To say I’m excited is a huge understatement. Let’s get to it.

Since I won’t be around until several hours later, use this thread to talk about the show as it happens. Obviously spoilers won’t be an issue so say whatever you like. I’ll be back later tonight with a live report and hopefully a review tomorrow. Enjoy yourselves people and remember, tonight is our night.

Vickie Guerrero Leaving WWE

Even today I’ve got news.

Word on the street is that she’s getting into another business and is leaving after tonight.  I haven’t seen anything that says there’s heat on either side so she would likely be welcomed back in the future.  She got on my nerves at times but she played her role VERY well over the years.

Tonight Is Our Night

The only line I can remember stealing from Tony Schiavone.

Tonight is our night.

As wrestling fans we get a lot of flack from people over how stupid wrestling is or people constantly reminding us that it’s fake (you know, because everything else on TV is TOTALLY REAL right?) or using the most over the top stereotypes when talking about wrestling. Well tonight is the night where wrestling fans get to have it be all about us.

Tonight 80,000 people will pack the Super Dome in New Orleans and watch the greatest wrestling show in the world. We’ll see action, drama, comedy, romance, and above all else, athleticism at its finest. From the swamp preacher against the All-American boy to the undead former zombie against the former UFC Champion to the corporate killer against the bearded wonder to the fourteen Divas match, tonight is a mix of so many different characters and ideas coming together for one event.

We wait all year for this show and have to endure a lot of things, from Battleground to people getting squashed to bad “comedy” segments to Santino and Emma going on dates. However tonight is what makes it all worthwhile. There’s nothing like Wrestlemania and you can’t really describe why it feels so special.

The show has been running for thirty years, which is longer than a lot of fans have been alive. It’s the biggest show in wrestling and one of the biggest in all of entertainment. Back in 1985 it was a media sensation and drew a huge crowd as the in thing to do. Over the years it evolved into what you see today: the greatest spectacle in wrestling and something people from from thousands of miles away to see.

I’m lucky enough to go to the show tonight and I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited. It’s a special feeling that you get when you wake up and realize it’s Wrestlemania Sunday. I don’t feel like this for the Super Bowl, my birthday or even Christmas. This is the biggest day of our year and absolutely nothing tops it. When you’re watching the show tonight, stop looking at it so critically and just soak it all in for a change. You’ll have a better time and maybe even remember why you love this crazy world that wrestling has created.

Wrestlemania XXX Preview: Overall Thoughts/Predictions

This might be slightly biased.

So as you probably know, I’m going to be in the Super Dome tomorrow night for the show.  Obviously that’s going to change my take on the events a little bit, but I still think it’s going to be a good show.  There are at least four matches with potential to steal the show, and all roads seem to lead to Daniel Bryan walking out with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.  That’s the logical conclusion here and it’s something most people want to see.  I’m looking forward to it and it’s a chance for WWE to pull the trigger on someone in some long form storytelling.

The wrestling is going to be excellent and the drama will be cranked up to eleven tomorrow night.  Hopefully they throw in the Divas in between the four big matches to give us a breather, because that’s been a problem before.  I’m looking at you Wrestlemania XIX and for some reason talking to you like an animate object.  I don’t think it’s going to top Wrestlemania XVII or anything like that, but it could be up there with XIX or XX as far as an awesome show.

Now for the interesting part: the rumors.

1. I don’t think Sting shows up.  I believe it’s more possible on Raw than any time before, but I’ll stick with my stance of I’ll believe it when I see it.

2. No Punk.  It just doesn’t feel right.

3. Austin vs. Punk next year doesn’t seem likely for me either.  Austin has been almost flat out saying it’s happening on his podcast, which seems like it’s ruining a huge surprise, which isn’t WWE’s style.

Am I missing any?

The show should be great and I haven’t been this excited in a very long time.
