History of Saturday Night’s Main Event and Clash of the Champions Now in Paperback, Plus Price Drops

Before we get to these new ones, a quick update: I’ve lowered the prices on all of the books. I was looking at them the other day and the prices were just too high. I probably wouldn’t pay that much for them and I have no idea why anyone else should be expected to either. Each one has been lowered by at least a dollar and some far more than that. The British prices have been lowered as well.

You can check them out, with the new prices, by clicking on any of the following:

History of Wrestlemania, the Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Summerslam.

NXT Volume I and Volume II

And now, for something new.

If you’re a wrestling fan, odds are you’re familiar with these two series. They’re some of the most important wrestling shows in history and for vastly different reasons. While Saturday Night’s Main Event offered a chance for the masses to see the WWF on a major TV network, Clash of the Champions went the other way and offered pay per view caliber matches on TBS.

In these books I’ve gone back and looked at every episode of both series to see why each one worked (and didn’t work) in their own ways. There were thirty five Clash of the Champions specials and thirty six Saturday Night’s Main Events, though I’ve thrown in the five Main Event specials as a bonus. Each show is broken down match by match and segment by segment with context, play by play and analysis.

Both are ready to go from Amazon in full paperback form. They’re both priced at $9.99 each and are available worldwide (only in English) from any country’s Amazon page. Here are the links for the US and UK versions.

Pre-Network Era NXT Added to WWE Network

As in the stuff at Full Sail from 2012 to just before Arrival.

It would be nice if there was a guide for something like that.  Say in paperback.  Maybe on Friday.  Like this Friday.  Which will be available on Amazon.  Along with a sequel that covers from Arrival to Dallas.  Which will be on sale too.  Just in time for Wrestlemania season.

That would be nice wouldn’t it?

Coming to Amazon For Royal Rumble Weekend

Remastered (as in I went through and edited them all to make them a bit more readable), with page numbers, chapter titles (if I can figure them out), About the Author and some rather snazzy covers (not exactly what you see here).

These are actual, physical paperback books with the most up to date reviews available, as in material not in the e-books.

So These Now Exist

And they still make my head spin.

New E-Book: KB’s Monday Nitro and Thunder Reviews Volume V with Special Price

nitro-v

A comprehensive look back at every episode of WCW Monday Nitro and Thunder from January – June 1999. WCW is in trouble and there’s not much of a better way to put it. They’re being defeated by Monday Night Raw in the Monday Night Wars, but as any wrestling historian can tell you, that doesn’t mean there’s no hope. Monday Night Raw was crushed for the better part of two years so maybe WCW can come back as well. In this book, every episode of both shows in the first half of 1999 is reviewed in full, complete with analysis, ratings and complete content included.

Normally this will be selling for $3.99 but for the next ten days (as in thru Sunday November 27) it’s going to be at a sale price of $2.99. Pick it up cheap while you can!

New E-Book: KB’s History of Wrestlemania

Mania

You might have heard about this one before. The show has evolved from a bigger than average house show in Madison Square Garden to a show that takes over a different major city each year as part of a week long event. It has been called the Granddaddy of Them All and the Showcase of the Immortals and lives up to its reputation as the biggest and most important event of the year. In this book I’ll be looking at every edition of the series and breaking down each show segment by segment and match by match. I’ll be including detailed analysis, history and ratings for each match and show overall.

In this book, I’ll be looking at every Wrestlemania to date, starting back with the glorified house show in 1985 and winding up in Santa Clara, California in 2015. Wrestlemania is a show with more prestige and grandeur than any other in wrestling history and now it’s all collected here. These are ALL NEW REVIEWS and the last time I’ll be doing them for a very long time. As usual I’ll be providing play by play, context and analysis of every show.

The books is my longest ever at over 500 pages on a Kindle and only costs $3.99, or the equivalent in other currencies. If you don’t have a Kindle or e-book reader, there are several FREE apps you can use to read it on pretty much any electronic device. You can find those from Amazon here.

New E-Book: KB’s Complete 1997 Monday Night Raw Reviews

Raw 97

Photo credit to Killjoy as always.

As 1996 came to a close, it was clear that WCW was in command of the Monday Night Wars. While Monday Nitro was running away with the battles, Monday Night Raw was the same show that we had been seeing for years. It was clear that something needed to change but it wasn’t clear what. The solution would wind up being everything over the course of the year.

In this book, I’ll be looking at every episode of Monday Night Raw in 1997. This was the year where things started to change. From Bret Hart turning his back on the fans to Rocky Maivia becoming the Rock to the Undertaker having a brother and dead parents to Steve Austin showing he had staying power to Mankind having three personalities, 1997 saw Monday Night Raw go from its roots to a modern show in a hurry. As usual I’ll be providing play by play, context and analysis of every show.

The books runs over 400 pages on a Kindle and only costs .99, or the equivalent in other currencies. If you don’t have a Kindle or e-book reader, there are several FREE apps you can use to read it on pretty much any electronic device. You can find those from Amazon here.

New E-Book: KB’s History Of Monday Nitro Volume III (Including Thunder!)

nitro3

When we last left WCW, they were the undisputed kings of the Monday Night Wars and that’s certainly still the case as they come into 1998. Things were so good that they decided to more than double the amount of television they were airing per week. To say this might have been too much too soon is an understatement but WCW had done stupider stuff before.

In this book, I’ll be looking at every episode of Monday Nitro and Thunder from January through June of 1998. This is the time where the Monday Night Wars finally started to get competitive again after nearly two years of being completely one sided. Having two shows a week was a fresh idea as well, making this a very important time in wrestling history. As usual I’ll be providing play by play, historical context and analysis of every show.

Also remember that I’ve already covered 1995-1997 Monday Nitro in case you don’t want to jump right into the later stuff. Both books are available from my Amazon author page.
