It’s the last night of Verano de Escandalo and that means it’s time to get ready for the build towards TripleMania. That could mean quite a few things, but we do have another title match with the Reina de Reinas Title being defended in a triple threat match. Dominik Mysterio is here too so let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

Latin American Title Qualifying Match: Cruz del Toro vs. El Fiscal vs. Psycho Clown

Del Toro and Fiscal tease an alliance but instead Clown helps Fiscal get rid of del Toro. Back in and a pop up powerbomb gives Fiscal two on del Toro but Clown sends Fiscal outside. The dive is broken up so del Toro hits a big dive of his own onto the two of them. They all get back inside with Clown hitting a heck of a clothesline to del Toro, who is right back up with a super hurricanrana to Fiscal.

Clown sunset flips Fiscal into the rope for no count so del Toro covers them both for two each. Back up and Clown Psycho Drivers del Toro onto the apron, followed by a Cactus Clothesline to Fiscal. Cue a masked monster in the crowd to take out Psycho Clown, punch some fans, and rip off part of his mask. That leaves Fiscal to toss del Toro off the top and hit a frog splash for the pin at 7:59.

Rating: B-. This was more about the monster (and likely Psycho Circus attacker) being revealed and taking out Psycho Clown. That’s something we’ve been waiting to see for a long time now and hopefully the future of the story winds up working. Fiscal winning is a good thing too as I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him in recent months.

Rey Mysterio announces a tournament for the right to face Roman Reigns for the Raw World Title on September 14 in Mexico on Monday Night Raw. Yeah that’s big.

AAA was at the Summerslam version of Axxess.

Noisy Boy vs. Jack Cartwheel

They start with an exchange of headscissor escapes and both miss stomps on the apron. Boy is back up with a springboard cutter to take over and kicks Cartwheel in the head. Cartwheel is right back up to strike it out before going up top. A super headscissors brings Cartwheel down, leaving Graves to say that they’re just making stuff up now. Cartwheel sends him outside for the big running flip dive, followed by a Red Arrow for the pin at 4:32.

Rating: B. Oh good grief this was exactly what it should have been, with the two of them flying around and getting to show everything they could do. It made for a heck of a showcase, with Cartwheel getting to look great in the process. Odd name aside, Boy did well here too and it made him look like a bigger star at the same time. Rather impressive stuff here.

Post match here is Karmen Petrovic to signal Los Perros del Mal for the beatdown on Cartwheel. Daga says he warned us of this and here is Damian 666 (an original member of the team) as the newest member. That’s a big addition and he seems happy to be here.

We get a sitdown interview with Dominik Mysterio, talking about how he wasn’t happy with El Grande Americano not trusting him. Everything changed with Americano won Rey de Reyes and Mysterio left AAA for a bit. Americano went on to become the Mexican national hero but Mysterio will beat him at TripleMania.

As for Dorian Roldan, Mysterio joined up with him after Rey Mysterio became GM, because they both know what it’s like to have fathers in powerful positions. Omos will be here with Mysterio next week, and here is Liv Morgan to leave with Mysterio (along with give a hard glare at interviewer Andrea). That wraps up a bit of a loose end, as well as helps get us focused on Mysterio vs. Americano, as it should be.

Reina de Reinas: La Catalina vs. Lady Shani vs. Flammer

Flammer is defending and both of the other two have pinned her in recent months. Rey Mysterio has to leave commentary to “do some GM stuff”, which has JBL rather annoyed. Flammer gets knocked outside to start fast and Shani takes her down again with a dive. Catalina dives onto both of them before hitting Flammer with a running dropkick back inside. Shani is back up to take the other two down but Flammer gets in a running dropkick to both challengers.

That’s broken up as Catalina is up with a double missile dropkick before Gory Bombing Flammer onto Shani for two more. Shani’s spinning sunset flip gets two on Flammer with Catalina making the save. Catalina splashes Shani for two and then spears Flammer on the floor, followed by a running knee to Shani back inside. That’s fine with Flammer, who sends Catalina outside and steals the retaining pin at 9:10.

Rating: C+. This was fine and felt like a house show triple threat, right down to the most basic three way finish imaginable. The women’s division continues to feel like something that doesn’t really matter all that much in AAA and this didn’t do much to change the feeling. The match was completely fine, but nothing that felt like a big deal in any way.

Overall Rating: B-. This is one of those things you have to get used to, as AAA doesn’t exactly go all out for its final nights of a big event. Instead, these things tend to be front loaded and that’s a rather different way to go. The Cartwheel vs. Boy match was a blast and Clown being attacked definitely felt big, but the show itself, as usual, could have been any regular week. That’s just kind of how it works around here though so it’s hard to get that mad.

It’s a holiday in America and that probably means absolutely nothing for this show, which is doing quite well without the American side of things. The big story coming out of last week continues to be whomever is attacking the Psycho Circus. Other than that, we have a former World Champion here and that should be making for an interesting situation. Let’s get to it.

Here is Rey Mysterio for a chat. Mysterio talks about how he wants to bring the best to the fans in Mexico so join him in welcoming former WWE World Champion, Damian Priest! JBL: “As an old guy in a cowboy hat used to say, business is picking up!” Priest runs down some of his resume and says he’s dominated in WWE but never in AAA.

He isn’t here to make friends and doesn’t care if you’re good or bad, because he’s ready to destroy. Priest tells us to rise because El Campeon is here. This was a nice moment and Priest should fit in well around here. If nothing else, it’s nice to see him doing the serious stuff instead of paling around with R-Truth.

Lady Shani vs. Flammer

Non-title and the rest of Las Toxicas are here with Flammer. Shani armdrags her down to start and they shove each other a bit, with Shani getting the better of things. Flammer trips her to the mat and hammers away, followed by a kick to the leg in the corner. A spinebuster puts Shani down and Flammer shakes her head a bit, followed by the choking in the corner.

Flammer sends her into another corner but Shani reverses into a choke. An armdrag sends Flammer into the corner for a facewash, followed by some kicks to the head. Shani grabs a bodyscissors and rolls her around into a cradle for two. Flammer is back up with a hammerlock drop for two so she goes outside to grab the title. Cue La Catalina to cut that off and Shani grabs a Backstabber. An Iconoclasm is enough to pin Flammer at 8:56.

Rating: C+. This was a way to set things up for later and it’s a nice enough way to make that happen. The thing I like here is that it wasn’t the cleanest finish in the world, with Flammer costing herself rather than just getting beaten on her own. Someone has to end that title reign and while it feels like Catalina is an option, Shani at least feels like a serious challenger.

We look at Pagano being attacked last week and Psycho Clown begging his forgiveness while swearing vengeance.

We recap El Grande American saying he wanted the Mega Title and then being beaten down by the reformed Los Perros del Mal.

El Grande Americano didn’t see that coming and challenges Los Perros del Mal to show up and meet him next week. He just won’t be alone.

Dinamico/Drago vs. Money Machine vs. Mr. Iguana/La Parka

Plata and Iguana start things off, with Plata offering to buy Yesica. Iguana steals the money instead runs runs up the corner for a hurricanrana. Drago tags himself in and flips around a bit, only to get dropkicked by Oro. That’s shrugged off so Drago can hit a running shooting star but it’s off to Dinamico, who gets dropped by Parka.

Money Machine double teams Parka down, with a spinning splash getting two. The two of them are sent outside though and Drago shooting stars onto them as well. Parka flips Dinamico outside as well, leaving Drago to high crossbody Iguana for two. Money Machine takes over on Parka but get dropped by a springboard dive from Dinamico. Back in and Drago dives into a cutter from Parka, who hits the Bone Bender for the pin at 6:57.

Rating: B-. This was about all you needed it to be as they had a fast paced and high flying match. You pretty much know what you’re getting with a match like this and they did exactly what you would have expected. The fans still seem to love Iguana and Parka so giving them a win in a match like this makes perfect sense.

We look at a three way match from Verano de Escalando in 2009.

Rey Mysterio says Damian Priest is from Puerto Rico but represents the culture. As for next week, both Priest and Dominik Mysterio will be here.

Abismo Negro Jr. vs. El Fiscal

Fiscal fires off the clotheslines to start and hits a Backstabber. Back up and Abismo’s hammering doesn’t get him very far as Fiscal hits a clothesline to the floor, setting up the big suicide dive. Abismo misses an elbow off the steps and gets sent into the post but manages to escape a tombstone. They clothesline each other and here are Los Perros del Mal go jump both of them for the double DQ at 4:24.

Rating: C+. These two have quite the story and commentary explained it again rather easily here. It felt like we could be in for a big fight but the ending was more about setting things up for later. Hopefully they get the chance to have their big match at some point in the future because it feels like they’ve earned it.

Los Perros beat the heck out of both of them (though more Fiscal) to end the show.

Overall Rating: B-. This was definitely more about setting things up for the future than doing much here. That’s not a bad thing either as I want to see what is going to happen with most of these stories. Now all they have to do is actually make those stories work and we should be in for something good. AAA continues to be the easiest show to watch anywhere and hopefully that gets even better on the way to TripleMania.

We’re done with Noche de Los Grandes and that means it is time to get ready for the next major show, which is likely to be announced soon. There is quite a bit of fallout to deal with from the show and that might start this week. If nothing else, we haven’t heard from Dominik Mysterio that much lately so let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Galio/Golden Jacket vs. Galeno

Galeno runs both of them over to start and sends them outside for various throwing. Back in and the rapid clotheslines have Jacket in trouble in the corner and a double cannonball has JBL begging for mercy. A frog splash to Jacket gives Galeno the double pin at 3:17.

Rating: C. This was exactly what it should have been as Galeno got to go in there and wreck some people. He’s being built up as a monster and uses the power and size advantages that he has rather well. It works for him and that’s not something you see around here, making for a unique and good fit.

Omos sees this and wants three opponents.

Verano de Escalando is on July 25.

Los Vipers vs. Fiscal/Octagon Jr./La Parka

Octagon hurricanranas Taurus down and hands it off to Fiscal, who drops Octagon onto him for the big crash. It’s already back to Octagon to work on the arm and a headscissors drops Taurus again. Negro comes in and gets to face Fiscal so let’s go with Histeria instead. Parka comes in for some dancing and gets to enziguri Taurus into the corner.

A cheap shot lets Histeria take over on Parka, who is launched into a double kick to the ribs for two. The double suplex/high crossbody combination gets two but Parka flapjacks Taurus. Fiscal comes back in to clean house and NOW we get the showdown with Negro. Fiscal sends him outside for the big dive and they brawl up the aisle. Parka moonsaults onto Taurus, leaving Octagon to give Histeria a flipping fall away slam for the pin at 8:45.

Rating: B-. First of all, this doesn’t mean anything as far as Octagon’s injury as from what I can tell, this might have been filmed back in April. Other than that, they have something with the Abismo vs. Fiscal feud and if we ever get a big blowoff, it could go a long way. Parka is always going to get cheered and Los Vipers work well together so this was a nice addition to the show.

We look at El Hijo del Vikingo winning the Latin American Title.

Omos vs. Chris Carter/Kingu/Daimo

Omos splashes them in the corner to start and then does it again a few more times. Kingu and Carter are put up on Omos’ shoulders while he kicks Daimo. A Last Ride to Daimo is enough for the triple pin at 2:38.

We look at Las Toxicas being defeated last week.

Mixed Tag Team Titles: Joaquin Wilde/La Hiedra vs. Lola Vice/Mr. Iguana

Vice and Iguana are defending. Hiedra backs Vice into the corner to start and gets her into an early Brock Lock. Vice is back up and gets to dance as Wilde comes in. That’s enough to distract Wilde so Iguana gets in a blind shot, earning himself a faceplant from Wilde. We pause for Wilde to reapply the hairspray before Iguana small packages him for two.

Iguana fights up without much trouble and brings Vice back in to clean house on Hiedra. Everything breaks down and the champs hit stereo running hip attacks in the corners, followed by some YES Kicks to rock Hiedra. A double faceplant leaves both of them down and Iguana is back in with a high crossbody to Wilde. Back up and Wilde hits a superkick, only to miss a Lionsault. Iguana’s spinning bulldog retains the titles at 8:12.

Rating: C+. AAA does not hide what these titles are about and that’s not a bad thing. These titles are not at all meant to be taken seriously and they’re basically around as an “in case of a boring show, here’s a title match”. Vice and Iguana are fun together and they can do their thing against any random team, which is pretty much what we got here.

Post match the brawl stays on until Las Toxicas run in for the brawl. Bayley and La Catalina make the save and Flammer is beaten down to end the show.

Overall Rating: C. This was a good example of a show that was fun but completely unnecessary viewing. There was pretty much nothing added to the bigger stories here and none of the matches are worth going out of your way to see. The positive side though is that the show is less than fifty minutes (probably closer to forty five when you take out the graphics at the beginning and end) so it’s not like you invest a lot of time. Things will pick up again next week but for now, a totally skippable, yet fine, show.

We’re two weeks away from Noche de los Grandes and the likely main event is set, with the battle of the Grande Americanos. Other than that, we have the issues between Pagano and Psycho Clown, both among themselves and with the War Raiders. That could go in a variety of directions so let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Tokyo Bad Boys vs. Money Machine vs. La Parka/Mr. Iguana vs. NGD

The Boys are Kento/Takuma, Machine is Oro/Plata and NGD are Forastero/Sanson. Oro and Sanson start things off with an exchange of arm cranking until Sanson takes over. Forastero comes in for a triangle choke but Oro manages a hurricanrana to escape. Plata comes in and gets superkicked down but Takuma tags himself in. The Boys double hiptoss Plata but Iguana comes in for a running hurricanrana.

Parka launches Takuma into the air for a big crash but he’s right back with a tornado DDT to put Parka down. Everything breaks down (yep) and Parka gets double teamed but Money Machine is up with some dives to the floor. Takuma hits a big corkscrew dive and Parka follows with a middle rope moonsault. Iguana comes back in with the stuffed iguana, which is used to pull him face first into the buckle. A hurricanrana gives Iguana two and Parka is back in with a springboard crossbody to Forastero. The Bone Breaker finishes for Parka at 10:09.

Rating: B-. You knew what you were going to get with this match and that’s not a bad thing. There were a lot of people flying around and it made for a bit of a mess, but that’s all this was supposed to be. The flips and dives were entertaining and the fans are still into Iguana so it was pretty much a layup. An athletic layup mind you but a layup.

Post match the War Raiders come in and wreck people.

Dorian Roldan can’t get a meeting with his mom about being the new GM, but does find Texano Jr. who basically tells him to scram.

TripleMania will be a two night event. First night’s location still to be announced.

We look at Rey Fenix beating Laredo Kid two weeks ago.

Post match, Fenix said the fans loved that and wanted another shot at the title. Kid called him jealous of Penta, but Fenix said he was proud of his brother. Anyway, the title match is set for next week.

Galeno vs. Drago/Chris Carter

Galeno runs them both over for daring to double team him to start and throws them outside. Back in and Galeno backdrops Drago over the top and punches him in the face on the way down (that was awesome). Cue Omos to watch as the Galeno Special (kind of a spike double arm DDT) is enough for the double pin. Galeno looked good here and that backdrop punch was great.

We look at last week’s brawl with Bayley and Lola Vice saving La Catalina from Las Toxicas.

The six woman tag is set for Noche de los Grandes.

Cibernetico wants to be GM and Dorian Roldan is nervous.

Creed Brothers vs. El Fiscal/Aerostar

Julius takes over on Fiscal to start but Fiscal takes over on Brutus’ arm. Aerostar does the same and gets gorilla pressed into a splash onto Brutus for two. It’s back to Julius, who gets knocked to the floor and the Creeds get to catch a diving Aerostar. They also slam him onto the apron for a huge crash and Brutus steps on Aerostar’s head back inside.

The neck crank doesn’t last long so it’s back to Brutus for a hard shot to the face. The referee has to check on Aerostar, who flips out of a belly to back suplex and gets over to Fiscal to fight back. Fiscal sends the Creeds outside for a big dive and Aerostar hits a springboard dive of his own. Back in and Aerostar gets caught in the ropes, meaning it’s a powerbomb into an ankle lock for the quick tap at 7:20.

Rating: C+. This was a bit more like a regular tag match, as the Creed Brothers got to actually have some success for a change. They’re not exactly the best team on the main roster, but at least they have something to do here at the moment. If nothing else, they’re worth having around for the sake of offering a different style around here and that should serve them well.

Post match the beatdown is on until Los Americanos run in for the save. The Original El Grande Americano runs in to go after Bravo’s mask but El Grande Americano runs in for the save. Well kind of, as he can’t touch Original and has to wait for Rayo to jump Original, allowing Americano to go after the Creeds. Original calls this his house (the fans approve) and the match is going to be about Mexican pride. The match is going to have to work, but Americano’s work building this up has been excellent.

Overall Rating: B. The best thing I can say about this show is it has me wanting to see Noche de los Grandes. They’ve built up the main event very well and the six woman tag should be good. As usual, this show flies by and it has me wanting to see where things go next. Solid effort here, with more than enough stories that I want to see keep going to call it a success.

Rey de Reyes 2026 Night Three
Date: March 28, 2026
Location: Auditorio GNP Seguros, Puebla, Mexico

It’s the last night of Rey de Reyes and oddly enough, the biggest matches have been used up. There are still a few things to cover here though and we should be in for some good stuff. That has been the case around here in the first two weeks and I want to see where this goes after the big event is over. Let’s get to it.

The opening video talks about having what it takes to become forged into greatness. I believe the opening is the same as the previous two weeks, but it does move into clips about the remaining matches and talks about the final week of the show.

Cruiserweight Title: Jack Cartwheel vs. TJ Perkins vs. Dragon Lee vs. Laredo Kid

Kid is defending and this is one fall to a finish. Kid goes right after Perkins to start but it gets broken up, with Lee getting in some stomps to both of them. Cartwheel’s diving hurricanrana off the apron takes out Lee though and it’s Cartwheel with an Asai moonsault to knock down the pile. Back in and Lee knocks Kid down for two, followed by a bridging German suplex for the same.

Perkins is back up with kind of a double abdominal stretch to Lee and Kid, with Cartwheel making the save. Cartwheel takes out Lee and Perkins and hits the springboard flipping splash onto Lee. The sitout powerbomb gets two on Perkins with the other two making the save, leaving everyone down. Perkins is dropkicked to the floor and Kid is sent outside as well, with Cartwheel dropkicking Lee out too.

Cartwheel isn’t done and hits a big cartwheel dive onto the other three but Perkins crotches him on top. Lee superplexes Kid down to give Perkins two, with Lee making the save. Perkins gives Lee a Detonation Kick but gets caught with Cartwheel’s spinning moonsault…but the landing bounces Cartwheel into a Styles Clash from Lee, which lands on Perkins for a bonus. Kid breaks up a cover on…I have no idea and strikes it out with Lee. A running flipping DDT drops Lee but he’s right back with a running knee.

Kid takes Lee up but gets sunset bombed down by Cartwheel. Lee is able to block a super wheelbarrow rollup and double stomps Cartwheel on the back. Operation Dragon hits Cartwheel, with Perkins hitting a top rope legdrop for the save. Kid breaks up Perkins’ cover and a double superkick sends Perkins outside. Lee gives Cartwheel a big running flip dive but comes up holding his knee. Perkins misses a belt shot and gets taken down with a poisonrana. A curb stomp retains the title at 13:19.

Rating: B+. This was pretty much exactly as advertised, with everyone doing a bunch of spots and flying all over the place. That’s exactly what you expect with a Cruiserweight Title match, especially involving four people. Cartwheel and Lee got to stand out but Kid retains in the end to continue his record reign. Very fast paced, entertaining match.

Post match Rey Fenix comes out for the staredown with Kid.

Las Toxicas are proud of Flammer for her record reign as Reina de Reinas. There’s going to be a big celebration on April 11 in Mexico City. Champagne and men will be provided. Oh and there’s some woman named Sussy Love who she has to beat first but it shouldn’t be a problem.

We recap El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro (I believe the same video from a few weeks ago) to set up their latest grudge match. Apparently they’re fighting over the Abismo Negro name, with Fiscal being the son of the original Abismo Negro, while this one took the name in a bad direction as part of Los Vipers (I think).

Abismo Negro vs. El Fiscal

Fiscal jumps him to start and hits a dive before going back inside to slug away. A clothesline puts Abismo down and it’s time to start slugging away. Abismo ties him in the corner for a dropkick and a big clothesline cuts off Fiscal’s comeback (JBL approves). The chinlock goes on before Abismo just slaps him in the face. That earns him a double leg takedown but Abismo blocks a Tombstone (illegal in Mexico). Abismo tries one of his own but gets rolled up for the pin at 6:34.

Rating: B-. This had me thinking of Jake Roberts vs. Randy Savage at This Tuesday In Texas, as it was clear that they hated each other but they didn’t have much time to do the actual match. Fiscal pretty much had to win for the sake of the honor of his own name, though the ending feels like it’s setting up another match. You could feel the hatred between these two though and it came off as a fight, which is how it should have felt.

Post match Abismo jumps Fiscal and tombstones him onto the announcers’ table (which doesn’t break). Points for the medical team, as the stretcher is RIGHT THERE.

Here’s what’s coming next week.

Here is El Ojo for a chat. Dorian Roldan didn’t expect much from this crowd and the fans should have cheered for El Hijo del Vikingo. They have turned their back on him and need to get over Vikingo turning his back on them. Vikingo calls Mini Vikingo dumb and he doesn’t know what he’s gotten into. Last time, Mini Vikingo’s mother was crying, so buy her a lot of tissues for what he’s got planned. Vikingo is ready to go to Wrestlemania as the Intercontinental Champion because he’s seen the stupid man with the title.

So Penta can get out here with his dumb dance…and here he is, complete with the dance. Penta acknowledges Vikingo’s skill but doesn’t like Roldan, who turns everything he touches to trash. Vikingo doesn’t respect his town and his mother doesn’t like him. He’s out here in a suit like he’s about to be baptized and the match is on. How about April 11 in Mexico City? Oh and here’s the little dance you didn’t like, plus a shove to Vikingo’s face. Penta thanks the fans and hits his catchphrase to wrap it up. That’s a big match, as they’re definitely making the Mexico City show feel important.

Overall Rating: B. This show did a nice job of covering a few things, as not only did it have the very good opener, but it also bridged things forward. We have the Intercontinental Title match and Flammer’s celebration announced for April 11, albeit with another title defense for Flammer in the way. While this felt like the least important of the three weeks (because it was), they did a good job of keeping me interested. Nice work again here, which is pretty normal for AAA.

We’re a week away from Rey de Reyes and that means we has one more qualifying match for the show’s namesake four way. Other than that, Dominik Mysterio still has his hands full dealing with El Hijo de Vikingo and El Ojo. This show continues to be a lot of fun and hopefully that continues here. Let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

The opening recap looks at the Original El Grande Americano attacking Pimpinela Escarlata last week, with El Grande Americano going on to qualify for Rey de Reyes later in the show.

Opening sequence.

El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Dinamico

Dorian Roldan and Omos are here with Vikingo and Mysterio doesn’t know much about Dinamico, which isn’t a good sign. Or he’s the AAA version of Goldberg. Vikingo dropkicks him into the corner to start and hits a rather loud chop. A dropkick to the back of the head gets two but Dinamico manages to pick him up for a helicopter bomb.

Back up and Vikingo drops him with a clothesline, followed by a top rope Codebreaker for two. A top rope double stomp in the ropes gives Vikingo two but Dinamico hits a rolling cutter. That’s enough to send Vikingo outside, where a suicide dive takes him down again. Back in and something like a wheelbarrow driver gives Vikingo two and a weird wheelbarrow suplex gets the same. Vikingo drives him into the corner and hits the 630 for the win at 6:50.

Rating: C+. Dinamico was basically a warm body here but at least he got in a bit of offense, which helped somewhat. It wasn’t entirely a squash, but this was of course all about Vikingo looking like a big star. I liked it well enough, as Vikingo is already on his way to something rather big.

Post match Dominik Mysterio pops up on the screen to say next week will be different when he shows Vikingo something new.

Video on Flammer, the longest reigning Reina de Reinas champion in history. Therefore, say it with me, at Rey de Reyes, it’s an open challenge.

Rey de Reyes Qualifying Match: Mr. Iguana vs. Abismo Negro vs. Santos Escobar vs. Psycho Clown

We start with a series of knockdowns, with Negro spinning Iguana down for two. Clown sunset flips Negro for two and sends him outside for a big dive. That leaves Iguana to throw his stuffed iguana to Escobar for a dropkick. Back in and Escobar beats up Iguana, followed by a superkick to Clown for two. Iguana distracts Clown and goes up top for a hurricanrana….into an armdrag without hitting the ground (GEEZ) to drop Negro. Even commentary sounds impressed by that and I can’t blame them.

Clown is up with a dive of his own but gets beaten up by a stuffed iguana. That lets Mr. Iguana go up top, with Clown pulling him out of the air with a powerslam for two. Negro is back in to load up a Tombstone but cue El Fiscal to go after him. The two of them brawl out into the crowd, leaving Clown to give Escobar the Psycho Driver. For some reason he doesn’t cover though and here are the War Raiders to go after Clown. Pagano runs in with a kendo stick for the save and Iguana hurricanranas Escobar for two. Escobar goes to the eyes though and hits a kneeling Tombstone for the pin at 9:59.

Rating: B-. This was another wild four way to set up what should be one heck of a four way in a few weeks. What matters the most here is that they had an exciting match, with the finals being something that could go in a variety of ways. The interferences made sense here, though that hurricanrana armdrag was something else.

Rey de Reyes rundown.

Psycho Clown and Pagano head to the back…and Murder Clown is missing. Psycho blames Pagano for not keeping an eye on him but Pagano points out that he came to the ring to help. Psycho even accuses Pagano of being involved in this but things calm down as they hear a noise. It’s….Murder, who was in the bathroom with his headphones on. Everything is fine.

Original El Grande Americano vs. La Parka

The fans are WAY behind Parka here and the early dancing makes it even worse. Parka shoulders him down and dances again before grabbing a headlock. They trade rollups for two each until Americano misses an armdrag, meaning dancing can ensue again. Back up and Americano hammers away but has to bail outside to avoid a moonsault. Parka follows him to the floor and gets dropped knee first onto the announcers’ table. Americano starts in on the knee back inside, with said knee being wrapped around the post.

Commentary hypes up the Mega Title match, with Mysterio saying he’d be fine with his son losing, which is quite the funny line. Americano works on the leg some more and stomps him down in the corner. Another dragon screw legwhip has Parka in more trouble so Americano goes for the mask. That’s enough to fire Parka up and he gets two off a backslide.

They slug it out until Parka starts the clothesline comeback. A half and half suplex gets two on Americano, who is right back with a rolling Liger kick. Americano is right back on the leg but somehow Parka is able to hit a super Spanish Fly for two more. The ankle lock is broken up, as is the Bone Breaker, leaving Americano to twist the mask around. Rolling Chaos Theory pins Parka at 14:06.

Rating: B-. The match got some time and worked well enough, though Parka’s selling of the knee was spotty at best. There’s only so much value in working on the knee if the person with a bad knee is able to hit a super Spanish Fly. The good thing is that Americano is hated around here and AAA is smart to run with the heat that he has.

Post match Santos Escobar and El Grande Americano come out for a four way staredown to end the show.

Overall Rating: B-. This was basically a big preview for Rey de Reyes and that worked out well. It’s going to take place over the next three editions of the weekly show and that should be more than good enough to carry things. As usual, the show is a breezy watch and you can keep track of the stories with ease. Commentary helps a lot, as the three of them work well together and can explain the stories well. Nice stuff here, with the big shows starting next week.

We’re getting closer to Rey de Reyes and the show’s namesake match is starting to come together. At the same time, we are getting ready for the Mega Title match as Dominik Mysterio will defend against El Hijo de Vikingo. That could wind up getting a lot more interesting rather soon so let’s get to it.

The opening recap looks at Dominik Mysterio vs. El Hijo de Vikingo, setting up their title match at Rey de Reyes.

Opening sequence.

Here is Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., (in purple, likely a shot at Santos Escobar) who says there is someone who wants his Latin American Title. He gets right to the point in challenging them to come out here and see him face to face (even though you can’t see his face but I think you get the point).

Latin American Title: Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Belcegor

Belcegor is challenging and starts fast with a dropkick and clothesline. A hanging swinging neckbreaker drops Wagner again but he’s right back up with a headbutt. The running kick in the corner sets up a Death Valley Driver to give Wagner two and a spinning powerbomb gives him three at 2:35.

Post match Wagner calls out Santos Escobar for a fight right now. Escobar pops up on screen, saying it’s going to happen when he wants and on his terms.

We look back at TJ Perkins becoming #1 contender for the Cruiserweight Title.

Cruiserweight Title: TJ Perkins vs. Laredo Kid

Kid is defending and they fight over wrist control to start. Perkins spins out of a headscissors and they pop up to their feet for a staredown. A headscissors sends Perkins outside, where he drops Kid face first onto the apron. Back in and Kid gets dropkicked out of the air, followed by some boot scrapes in the corner.

The chinlock goes on for a bit, followed by a dropkick to send Perkins outside. There’s the expected dive before Kid throws him back inside for a running forearm in the corner. Perkins tries a rollup while grabbing the ropes but gets caught, allowing Kid to reverse a victory roll into a cradle to retain at 5:23 (even though it seemed Kid was pulling the tights and Perkins had the rope in time).

Rating: C+. They didn’t have the time to go very far here and that hurt things a bit, as it was more about the last few moments than anything else. The title only feels so important, partially as it seems Kid is such a dominant champion. Perkins was a fine choice for a challenger, but the ending suggests that this is far from over.

Post match Perkins jumps Kid and sends him into the steps. Perkins hammers him onto those steps and adds a running belt shot, followed by a curb stomp.

Video on Abismo Negro Jr. vs. El Fiscal. These two hate each other and Fiscal is the son of the original Abismo Negro, while Negro has no blood relation. Violence has ensued and it’s time to fight.

Abismo Negro Jr. vs. El Fiscal

They slug it out to start and head outside, with both of them being whipped into the steps. Back up and Fiscal hammers away against the announcers’ table, which is apparently enough for the DQ at 2:33.

Post match the beatdown stays on until security breaks it up. Abismo gets in a cheap shot to take Fiscal down so Fiscal goes after security as well. The fight is on again before eventually being broken up. This was good, with the video making it feel like a personal issue between two people who want to fight.

El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. is leaving when Santos Escobar jumps him and rides off on his motorcycle.

Here’s what’s coming next week.

Here are El Hijo del Vikingo (with Dorian Roldan and Omos) and Dominik Mysterio to sign the Rey de Reyes contract. Roldan asks Mysterio for his proposal but Mysterio says he’s going to be champion for a long time, even breaking Vikingo’s record. The rule is that if Mysterio wins, Vikingo cannot challenge for the title again, period. Vikingo says that he’s only going to need one match and if he wins, Mysterio leaves Mexico forever. And it’s going to be No DQ.

Vikingo signs and Mysterio (who is actually left handed) signs as well, with Vikingo calling him an idiot. We see a video of Vikingo in a hospital (impersonating a doctor) and going in to see Mini Vikingo. The regular Vikingo pulls out Mini’s IV and turns his bed over, saying that’s going to be Mysterio at Rey de Reyes. Back in the ring, Mysterio isn’t impressed and wants to fight, but Omos gets in his way. Cue El Grande Americano with a chair to Omos’ back, which doesn’t do anything. Mysterio and Americano leave but here is the Original El Grande Americano to jump Americano. Mysterio watches the beatdown go on to end the show.

Overall Rating: C+. There was very little in the way of wrestling this week, but the show ran less than fifty minutes and it covered quite a bit of stuff. The best thing I can say about this series thus far is that while I don’t know who a lot of these people are or how we got here, I haven’t been confused about anything. They’re telling the stories well and I want to see where a lot of this stuff goes. This is an easy watch and different enough from the usual WWE stuff, which is more than enough to keep it around.
