So it’s week two of Heroes Inmortales and the big Mega Title match has already taken place. This week should feature Rey Fenix defending the Cruiserweight Title against Mini Vikingo but the latter is hurt so it’s open challenge time. The rest of the show should be fine as well so let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

The opening video, which is at least very similar to last week’s, talks about the difference between being a hero and a villain. Either way, all that matters is being immortal. I’m assuming the people featured here are different but the narration seems to be the same.

Here is Laredo Kid to get things going. He’s the king of the cruiserweights and held the title for over 1,500 days. That’s why he’s here to take the title back and doesn’t need his brother to help him. Cue Jack Cartwheel to jump him from behind and say he wants the title. Takuma, of the Tokyo Bad Boys, comes in to say the same and it’s a three way brawl. Rey Fenix comes in to say he’s Kid’s daddy and he’ll beat all three of them tonight.

Psycho Clown finds Pagano in his dressing room. Pagano gives him one more chance to leave but Clown says no. Cue El Carnicero to beat Clown down.

Tag Team Titles: Los Vipers vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr./Galeno

Los Vipers are challenging. Wagner shoves Histeria around to start and it’s off to Galeno to knock him down again. Taurus comes in as Histeria cheap shots Wagner, allowing Taurus to get in a clothesline. The chinlock goes on for a bit, with Wagner wasting no time in escaping. Galeno comes back in to clean house, including holding Histeria up for a rather ridiculous amount of time. The big running flip dive hits Taurus on the floor and it’s a Wagner Driver into the frog splash to pin Histeria at 6:27.

Rating: C+. This was short and to the point, with the Wagner Brothers getting to go out there and show what they could do. The Wagners are turning into a good team and definitely feel like the best around here, which is how the champions should seem. Los Vipers could as well have been any two warm bodies but the match worked well enough.

Psycho Circus vs. El Carnicero/Pagano

Dave and Murder for the Circus here. It’s a brawl to start and Dave suplexes Pagano. That doesn’t last long as Pagano is up to knock Dave into Carnicero, allowing Pagano to get in a running headbutt. Carnicero seems scared of Pagano’s tag but then takes it and hits a hard clothesline. The Circus is dropped again and we take a break.

We come back with Carnicero and Pagano continuing to wreck various clowns. Carnicero boots Pagano down by mistake though and Murder gets in a short DDT. A top rope splash gets two but Pagano low bridges Murder to the floor. That leaves Carnicero to Boss Man Slam Dave for the pin at 9:01.

Rating: B-. I’m not sure what to think of Carnicero, but he’s a good enough monster and that’s all he needs to be. At the same time you have Pagano, who fits so much better as a villain, with the personal issues against Psycho Clown being that much better. Good enough match here, but the story has a long way to go.

Post match Psycho Clown tries to come in for the save and is quickly crushed.

Cruiserweight Title: Rey Fenix vs. Jack Cartwheel vs. Takuma vs. Laredo Kid

Fenix is defending. They start fast with Takuma armdragging Fenix and grabbing a tornado DDT. Kid makes the save and chops Cartwheel in the corner. A nasty inverted Michinoku Driver drops Cartwheel and Kid hits a 450 for two, with Fenix making the save. Fenix’s springboard cutter hits Cartwheel and the running flip dive takes Kid out. Back in and Kid’s destroyer DDT gets two on Fenix and he drops a frog splash for the same, with Takuma making the save.

Takuma’s Backstabber gets two on Cartwheel and Fenix’s Angel’s Wings gets the same. Takuma is right back up with a crazy springboard dive to Fenix on the floor but has to dive in for a save of his own on Kid. Fenix Swantons the cover and then goes up but Cartwheel makes the save. Cartwheel hits a big dive to the floor, leaving Fenix to catch Takuma on top. The Mexican MuscleBuster retains Fenix’s title at 11:14.

Rating: B+. You knew what you were going to see here and that’s what they delivered, with a bunch of flying around and crazy saves/dives. That’s all it should have been and it worked like it always does. Fenix is on a roll right now and that has been spreading over multiple shows, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise if you’ve followed his career.

Dorian Roldan is on the phone and wants an answer next week.

Overall Rating: B-. It still messes with me that these specials are all top heavy with such a big drop in the second and third weeks. That being said, even if this show didn’t feel as important, it was still a perfectly acceptable week of TV. The action, especially in the main event, was good and there is enough being built up for the coming weeks. I want to see where the Pagano/Carnicero/Circus stuff goes and that’s enough to carry my interest for the time being. Perfectly acceptable show here, again.

We are two weeks away from Heroes Inmortales and the main event seems to be set, with Dominik Mysterio getting his rematch against El Grande Americano for the Mega Title. That should be enough to carry things to the event, though we’ll need some more matches in there. We should get some of them this week, which should be good. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Los Americanos vs. Tokyo Bad Boys

Rayo and Takuma start things off with Rayo flipping around and escaping for some dancing. Bravo comes in to dance Takuma into the corner for a tag off to Kento. A running shoulder and atomic drop have Kento in trouble and a wristlock lets Bravo dance some more. There’s the big dive to take the Boys out but Takuma makes a blind tag. That means a springboard missile dropkick can hit Bravo, who is fine enough to suplex both Boys at the same time.

Rayo comes back in to clean house and Crash Landing Takuma onto Rayo for two. Rey Mysterio joins commentary as Bravo spins both Boys at once. Rayo adds a Swan Dive for two but Takuma uses Bravo as a launchpad to moonsault onto Rayo for a tornado DDT (GEEZ that was awesome).

Everyone is knocked down until Bravo and Takuma slug it out from their knees. Kento helps knock Bravo down so Takuma can hit a great looking shooting star press for two more. Some superkicks have Los Americanos in more trouble but Bravo is back with a handspring clothesline. A super hurricanrana has Kento in trouble but Takuma grabs one of his own for a nice save. Los Americanos are right back up with a Russian legsweep/top rope headbutt combination to finish Takuma at 10:15.

Rating: B+. This was rather fun and I wasn’t sure how it was going to go in the end, even if there was no reason to believe the Boys were going to pull it off. Some of the spots in there were great and the Boys looked the best I’ve ever seen them. Los Americanos’ dancing made it even better and this was a blast all around.

We recap El Carnicero attacking the Psycho Circus before revealing that he was in league with Pagano.

Here are El Carnicero and Pagano for a chat. Pagano says that of course he was behind the attacks on the Psycho Circus. The best part is that Psycho Clown knew it was Pagano but he stopped believing in his own mind. Pagano showed up here ten years ago and wanted to take Psycho’s mask. The two of them teamed up and accomplished quite a bit, but it was always about Psycho.

We pause for Pagano to smack Carnicero to…well completely fail to calm him down. Then one day Pagano stopped recognizing himself and he knew that he didn’t need anyone, including the Clowns or the fans. Cue the Psycho Circus, with Carnicero taking them out in short order. Now it’s Psycho Clown himself to show up and attack Pagano as Carnicero keeps up the beating. Security is beaten up as well as Psycho and Pagano seem to have fought off. They didn’t exactly have any mind blowing news here but it told the story well enough.

Here’s what’s coming next week.

We look at Mini Vikingo and Chazz Hall’s success in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Jack Cartwheel vs. Nobu San vs. Joaquin Wilde vs. Mini Vikingo

For a future Cruiserweight Title shot. They trade flips to start and get in some leapfrogs until San and Wilde are sent out to the floor. Back up and San clears the ring, only to get kicked down by Vikingo. Hold on though as Wilde has to get his hair spray in, setting up the big running flip dive.

We see Rey Fenix watching in the back as Wilde and San get together to double team Vikingo. This lasts until San’s assisted moonsault gets two, much to Wilde’s annoyance. Back up and Vikingo hits a missile dropkick, followed by a Michinoku Driver for two on San. Cartwheel gets back up and misses his corkscrew moonsault, leaving everyone down. San is back up to stand on Wilde’s back for a superplex to Vikingo but gets sent into Cartwheel.

That lets Wilde get in a running poisonrana to Cartwheel but Nobu catches Wilde on top. Naturally Cartwheel is up with a double flipping kick to the head and there’s the Sasuke Special to the floor. Vikingo dives in to make a save of his own and a springboard crucifix driver gets two on Cartwheel. The big springboard corkscrew dive takes out Cartwheel and Wilde on the floor, meaning it’s the 630 to give Vikingo the pin on San back inside at 11:27.

Rating: B. You’ve seen a bunch of these for months on here and while this was just another one of them, it was still awesome to see Vikingo get to fly all over the place like this. San isn’t someone who has been around very often but he more than held up here. Vikingo had to get the win as he’s ready for a big title shot and it was a lot of fun on the way there. As usual, this worked very well.

Fenix is ready for the title match at Heroes Inmortales.

Overall Rating: A-. This show was more about the two rather awesome matches and setting things up for the big show in a few weeks. That’s quite the hour and the big promo segment in the middle moved the story forward too. AAA does its shows differently and as usual, just keeping it down to an hour is quite the change of pace in a positive way. I want to see where things are going and that’s the big point around here, so well done.

We’re rapidly approaching TripleMania and the big story continues to be Dominik Mysterio teaming up with El Ojo to deal with El Grande Americano. That could make for some interesting situations between now and the biggest show of the year, but we also have to deal with the new monster coming after the Psycho Circus. Let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

The opening recap looks at Los Perros del Mal recruiting Penta to fight with them, saying he needs help against Roman Reigns and the Bloodline (as we continue pretending that anyone but Penta is winning the #1 contenders tournament). Penta isn’t sure, but will face Bronco Nima tonight with his future on the line.

Opening sequence.

Galeno vs. Omos

Dorian Roldan is here with Omos. Galeno forearms away to start and Omos is staggered but knocks Galeno into the corner with ease. A beal out of the corner sends Galeno flying and Omos gives him a slam. Back up and Galeno dropkicks the knee to set up a DDT as the fans are behind him. Galeno’s frog splash only gets one and Omos’ chokeslam gets two. They go outside with Galeno using the steps, which Omos takes away and uses on Galeno. The referee calls what we’ll say is a No DQ at 5:28.

Rating: C+. This was the old WWF idea of a battle of the big men, even if one of them was tiny compared to the other. That’s how you should use someone like Omos, as he doesn’t get in the ring very often and gets to smash through anyone. It worked here, with Galeno doing well in his role as well.

Post match Omos goes to crush Galeno but Rey Mysterio gets in his way. A chokeslam is loaded up but Roldan breaks it up, with Mysterio suspending Omos. That earns Mysterio a shot to the chest as Dominik Mysterio is here to try to calm things down.

Flammer and La Hiedra came in to see Rey Mysterio earlier today, with Flammer saying she’s taking TripleMania off because there is no one left to come after her. Mysterio had another idea: a gauntlet match, with the winner getting the TripleMania title shot. Works for Flammer, but Mysterio wants to talk to Hiedra about something else.

Money Machine vs. LWO vs. Psycho Circus vs. Los Americanos

For a Tag Team Title shot. Del Toro and Rayo trade missed dropkicks to start and it’s off to Wilde, who gets taken down with a backbreaker. A slingshot hilo connects on Wilde so Money Machine comes in to take over on Bravo. The Circus comes in to take over on Oro and it’s everyone getting together to go after Murder Clown. Plata hits a dive to take over and the Machine beats on Bravo in the corner.

Naturally Bravo can suplex both of them at once and it’s back to Rayo with a top rope seated senton. It’s right back to to Dave The clown to clean house, including a big suicide dive to the floor. Murder comes back in for a dive of his own to the floor but of course Bravo is able to give him an airplane spin. The LWO takes the Clowns out and a Phoenix splash hits Rayo, with Bravo diving out of nowhere for the save. A Russian legsweep/top rope clothesline combination finishes Wilde to give Los Americanos the title shot at 12:17.

Rating: B. The match was the usual messy affair that you would have expected but Los Americanos going forward is a good way to go. They’re associated with the hottest star in the promotion so tack them on with another title match. It’s not like any of the other teams really stand out all that much.

We get the weekly press conference from Rey Mysterio, where he reiterates that Omos is suspended and says that Galeno will be out of action due to injuries. Therefore, Damian Priest will be in the final match for the Latin American Title. That’s next Sunday at Ola de Calor.

Penta vs. Bronco Nima

If Penta wins, he’s free but if Nima wins, Penta is in Los Perros del Mal. Nima jumps him from behind to start and throws him inside for the bell. Penta’s mask is tied to the rope but Nima takes too long, allowing Penta to fight back. That means the big running flip dive, only for Nima to come back with a shoulderbreaker for two.

The Mexican Destroyer is blocked so Penta has to settle for a tornado DDT. Penta is right back with a basement superkick and another try at the Mexican Destroyer, which is blocked as well. This time though the counter is countered into a small package to give Penta the pin at 4:58.

Rating: C+. This didn’t have time to go anywhere but Penta isn’t about to lose anytime soon when he is all but guaranteed to get a title shot against Roman Reigns in a few weeks. This wraps up the loose end of Los Perros as Penta is on his way to Mexico City and the biggest match of his career. Nima was just a warm body here and that’s fine.

Post match Los Perros come in and lay Nima out, with Penta just leaving them be. Penta gets in and is offered a shirt but turns the team down. That earns Penta a beating of his own. Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee run in for the save and the challenge is issued for Ola de Calor. Rey Mysterio makes it official to end the show.

Overall Rating: B. The more I watch of this show, the more I like it. This was another situation where they started fast and kept going, covering a few things in just over an hour. It remains the easiest show to watch every week and I could go for seeing where it goes in the coming weeks. TripleMania should be a show stealer and that’s exactly what it should be, especially with how well this show has been going as of late.

We’re on the way to Verano de Escalando and three week event has a trio of main event matches set. This is the last big push towards the show and we have the new oddball team of Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano being ready to face off against Los Perros del Mal. That has a long way to get us to TripleMania but they need something to bridge the gap. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Here is Rey Mysterio for a chat. He gets right to the point of making amends, which starts with bringing ring announcer Andrea Bazarte into the ring to rehire her for more money. Bazarte is rather happy with the whole thing and is officially back (JBL doesn’t approve). With that out of the way, Mysterio moves on to the vacant Latin American Title. There are going to be four triple threat matches and a four way at TripleMania will crown the new champion Here are the lineups:

• La Parka vs. Mecha Wolf vs. Dragon Lee
• El Fiscal vs. Cruz del Toro vs. Psycho Clown
• Omos vs. Damian Priest vs. Galeno

The fourth match starts right now.

Latin American Title Qualifying Match: El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Abismo Negro vs. Texano Jr.

Abismo jumps the other two to start fast and Wagner is sent outside. That leaves Wagner to fight up and knock the other two down, only for Texano to get two off a backbreaker. Wagner breaks that up and slugs it out with Texano. Abismo’s Tombstone is broken up and a superplex drops Abismo again. Wagner’s top rope splash gets two with Texano having to make a save of his own. Texano is sent outside and gets punched out by Abismo and his foreign object. Another swing misses Wagner though and it’s the Wagner Driver to pin Abismo at 8:34.

Rating: C+. Perfectly nice opener here with Wagner getting to move on as a former champion. Abismo seems a lot more likely to go up against El Fiscal in the big showdown at TripleMania and Texano…well he exists too. I’m not sure if Wagner is going to be winning the title, but he does fit into the match rather well.

La Hiedra and Laredo Kid mock Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice about how they’re going to win the Mixed Tag Team Titles. Vice says Hiedra still loves Iguana, who does a spit take.

Someone films the Psycho Circus.

La Hiedra/Laredo Kid vs. Faby Apache/Joaquin Wilde

For a shot at Lola Vice/Mr. Iguana, who are at ringside. Wilde sunset flips Kid to start and it’s quickly off to the women. Apache kicks Hiedra down and hammers away in the corner, followed by stereo STF’s to Hiedra and Kid. With those broken up, Hiedra gives Apache a hip attack to take over, leaving Wilde to tornado DDT Kid.

Wilde gets choked in the corner though and Kid gives him a brainbuster for two. That’s shrugged off and Wilde dives over for the tag to bring in Apache to clean house. Apache’s big dive takes out the other three on the floor, followed by a high crossbody for two on Hiedra. Wilde’s backbreaker drops Kid for two more but Apache is back in. Kid grabs her leg though and Hiedra gives Apache a Stunner for the pin at 9:55.

Rating: C+. The Mixed Tag Tam Titles have become a fun idea as they aren’t meant to be taken seriously in the slightest and the teams feel thrown together every time. There is no pressure on them but they have been made to feel important enough because teams want to come after them. That’s more than you get sometimes and I kind of want to see the title match at Verano de Escalando. I wouldn’t have bet on that happening with these belts so well done.

We look back at Dominik Mysterio saving El Grande Americano from Los Perros de Mal.

Rey Mysterio wants to see where this goes and runs down the Verano de Escalando card. Finally, Octagon Jr. is hurt and has a long way to recover but his spot will be waiting for him.

Here are Los Perros del Mal for a chat. The team was around a long time ago and they’re here to go after the weak. They know how to fight and now they’re back because when you’re a dog, you’ll always be a dog. Daga introduces the team and says they’re here to be the nightmares to everyone in that locker room. This includes Dominik Mysterio and they’re ready to face he and El Grande Americano at Verano de Escalando. Cue Mysterio and Los Americanos for the big brawl to end the show.

Overall Rating: B-. This was about getting us ready for Verano de Escalando and the best thing they managed to do was not get dull at the last step. That has been an issue for the company’s previous go home shows but they made it work pretty nicely here. The brawl at the end was the big highlight and at least we have something to get us to a new Latin American Champion over the next few weeks. As usual, it might not be a must see show but it does a good job of keeping me wanting to come back.

The big story coming out of last week was the return of Los Perros del Mal, who reformed with a new lineup to attack El Grande Americano. That’s not going to go well for Americano, who is probably going to need some help. Either way, it feels almost impossible that he isn’t going after the Mega Title at TripleMania so he has some work to do. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Here is Psycho Clown, so we recap the Psycho Circus being attacked by someone, who Clown thinks has been Pagano. Back in the arena, Psycho talks about how he is tired of all this and wants to know what is going on. He calls out the rest of the Psycho Circus but none of them know what happened.

Psycho calls out Pagano, who doesn’t show up. The Circus goes to find him…and find a bloody Pagano unconscious in his dressing room. Psycho, who had been swearing revenge during the search, immediately apologizes and begs forgiveness. Pagano wakes up to forgive him, but there is a message on the mirror saying Psycho is next. Interesting indeed.

The Copa Bardahl, a gauntlet elimination match, is returning at TripleMania. We look at Omos winning the most recent edition of the match in dominant fashion.

Galeno vs. Mecha Wolf

How nice of them to have a match almost halfway through the show! Wolf slugs away but gets sent into the corner for some fast clotheslines. Galeno misses a charge to send him outside, where he cuts off Wolf’s dive. Cue Dorian Roldan and Omos to watch as Wolf gets in a cheap shot on the distracted Galeno.

Wolf dropkicks him into the ropes for some running knees to the back but Galeno strikes away. A backsplash and powerbomb get two on Wolf as Galeno’s arm is banged up. Wolf grabs a springboard DDT to limited avail as Galeno blasts him with a clothesline. The cannonball hits Wolf but Galeno stops to glare at Omos. The Galeno Special finishes Wolf at 5:50.

Rating: C+. It’s almost weird to see Galeno treated as a giant but he’s doing a nice enough job of wrestling like one. That should set up a good match between Galeno and Omos, likely with the latter smashing through him. Wolf was little more than cannon fodder here but he did well in that spot.

We look back at a tag match at last year’s Verano de Escandalo with Los Garza winning the Tag Team Titles.

Rey Mysterio was surprised by Los Perros del Mal returning last week but now they have AAA’s attention. In addition, the former WWE World Champion will be here next week and Vikingo will be defending the Latin American Title in NXT. We also get a quick preview of next week’s show.

NXT Women’s Title: Lola Vice vs. La Hiedra

Vice is defending. Hiedra jumps her from behind to start fast and gets an early two off a Michinoku Driver. It’s quickly broken down into a brawl and they crash out to the floor with Hiedra possibly hurting her hip. Back in and Vice kicks away but walks into a spinebuster for two. Hiedra gets her in the corner for some running boots to the spread out thighs and we hit the seated abdominal stretch.

Vice fights up and they grab stereo running faceplants for a double down. Hiedra is knocked outside for a running seated senton, allowing Vice to get in some dancing. Back in and Hiedra hits a quick Stunner, setting up a wheelbarrow faceplant for two. The spinning backfist connects for Vice but here are Las Toxicas for the cheap shot. La Catalina runs in to even things up a bit and another spinning backfist retains the title at 7:42.

Rating: C+. This was a way to have an outside title on the line and that is a good way to spice the show up a bit. La Hiedra was never going to feel like a threat to win the title but Vice is an established name on this show and it was nice to see her getting in a title defense. It might not be the most important thing here but it was a nice treat for the live fans.

Post match Vice dances with La Catalina but Las Toxicas come in to jump them. Lady Shani runs in for a big return and the save to end the show.

Overall Rating: C+. I like the Psycho Circus/Pagano mystery and Galeno vs. Omos should work when it happens. At the same time though, this was another show where it felt like not much was really happening and that’s becoming a bit annoying. The good thing though is the show only runs about forty five minutes so one good segment getting about ten minutes is a big chunk of the show. It’s definitely a different style around here, but hopefully they start giving us a bit more on the weekly shows.

The focus is on the tag division here as we have the face to face showdown between Pagano and Psycho Clown. This comes after someone has been going after the Psycho Circus and Clown thinks Pagano has been behind the whole thing. I’m not sure where that is going but it is quite the story. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Octagon vs. Cruz del Toro vs. Lince Dorado

They circle each other to start and we get a triple (Or is it double?) headlock. Dorado is sent outside so Octagon kicks del Toro in the head. Del Toro is back with a kick to the head of his own and a Prism Trap with a bodyscissors goes on. Dorado comes back in for the save but gets punched by del Toro.

With del Toro sent outside, Dorado hits an Asai moonsault into a cross armbreaker back inside. Octagon is back in with a springboard hurricanrana but del Toro pulls him outside. Dorado is taken out as well but Octagon is up with a dive onto del Toro. Back in and Octagon hits a slingshot hilo to del Toro but Dorado pulls him outside.

Dorado and Octagon slug it out until Dorado hits a handspring Stunner. They all trade kicks to the head until Octagon gives del Toro a super flipping World’s Strongest Slam. Del Toro is back up with a Coast To Coast to Octagon but Dorado breaks it up with a shooting star press. A brainbuster to del Toro gives Dorado the pin at 9:38.

Rating: B. This was the kind of match that was hardly making things complicated, as it was all about three people getting in as much as they could in about ten minutes. I’m not sure if this is going to go anywhere from here but Dorado looked rather good here. Then again so did the other two, making for a rather entertaining opener.

Chessman goes to see about the GM position but runs into Dorian Roldan. While Roldan doesn’t think Chessman should waste his time, Chessman blows him off and heads into the office.

La Catalina vs. Jessy Jackson

Hold on though as here is Flammer to watch at ringside. Jackson’s early wristlock doesn’t work as Catalina rides her on the mat and snaps off some armdrags. A running dropkick sends Jackson outside for a running flip dive off the apron. Back in and Catalina misses a shot and gets caught with a dropkick against the ropes.

Jackson chops away in the corner but Catalina dropkicks her into another corner. The running hip attack gets two and a running knee drops Jackson again. Jackson is right back with the running knees in the corner for two but Catalina hip attacks her in the ropes. A spinning top rope splash finishes Jackson at 7:34.

Rating: C. I wasn’t sold on this one, as Catalina is certainly the next big hope to stop Flammer’s reign, but it doesn’t do much good when it took her seven and a half minutes to beat someone who I don’t believe has actually been on this show before. Catalina is talented but she didn’t really look dominant here. The women’s division has been kind of a weak spot for AAA since I started watching and this wasn’t doing much to change that.

Post match Catalina and Flammer have a staredown until Las Toxicas run in for the beatdown. Lola Vice makes a failed save attempt but Bayley runs in for the real save.

We look at Galeno del Mal and El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. taking out Omos last week.

We look at last week’s Grande Americano contract signing and post match attack from the Creed Brothers.

We recap the Psycho Circus being attacked over the last few months. Psycho Clown thinks Pagano might have done it, despite the two of them being Tag Team Champions.

Psycho is in the ring and says this is why he is here tonight. He wants answers and wants to see Pagano face to face. Pagano comes down and Psycho says their brothers have been taken out one by one. Psycho found a Pagano bandanna next to Murder Clown and his heart is broken. What is going on here?

Pagano talks about everything they have done together and now Psycho is accusing him of attacking his own brothers? This is a game and Pagano understands why Psycho thinks he did it. Psycho needs to take a look in the mirror though, because it wasn’t Pagano. He isn’t the kind of person who would turn his back on his family.

Psycho doesn’t seem convinced but leaves, with Pagano yelling at him to stop. Pagano says Psycho will find out that it wasn’t him but here are the War Raiders to jump Psycho. Pagano makes the save and they leave separately, with commentary suggesting that Psycho might have done it (which Pagano may have suggested) to end the show.

Overall Rating: C+. The big showdown at the end was the featured attraction here and that went pretty well. The best thing I can say about the Psycho/Pagano story is I don’t know who is behind the attacks and I want to find out. I’d call that good storytelling, which is a nice feature to go with the fast paced opener. Not a great show here, but the big story went well.

We’re coming up on Noche de Los Grandes and we have a heck of a main event for the show, with the Grande Americanos facing off in a mask vs. mask match. This week will see the contract signing and there is a good chance things are going to get intense. Other than that, we are still trying to figure out who has been attacking the Psycho Circus. Let’s get to it.

El Ojo is talking about El Hijo del Vikingo’s match tonight. They mention being family, but El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. comes in to ask what they would know about that.

Mini Vikingo vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

Hijo jumps Mini to start and stomps away in the corner as the fans are not pleased. The running dropkick hits Mini again and the big forearms against the ropes make it worse. Hijo rolls him up for two and grabs something like an STF, with Mini’s face being slammed into the mat. Mini tries to fight back but gets kicked in the face and dropkicked to the floor. Hijo sends him into the steps and adds a suplex onto the ramp.

Another drop has the referee ready to stop it but Mini wants to keep going. Back in and Hijo chokes away but Mini actually manages a Code Red for two. Hijo is sent outside for a running flip dive…into a crucifix bomb, which even has Mysterio impressed. They head back inside, where Hijo kicks him in the head and grabs a powerbomb for two, meaning it’s time to look stunned. Hijo takes the turnbuckle pad off but gets sent into it instead.

A 450 gets a rather near fall so Hijo sends Mini into the corner, knocking the referee outside. Mini grabs a hurricanrana and the bell rings but the referee is still down. Hijo gets in a cheap shot and hits a super Rock Bottom but there is still no one to count. Back up and Hijo seems to have messed up his shoulder, even as he grabs a chair. Cue Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. for a Wagner Driver onto the chair, allowing Mini to hit a 630 Phoenix splash for the shocking upset at 12:58.

Rating: B-. This is what you get when you keep stringing out the near falls and hope spots, as Hijo got too cocky and lost it in the end. I had a good time with this and they did a good job of keeping the story going through. Hopefully Hijo’s shoulder is ok though, as that didn’t look great in the end. Either way, nice job by Hijo by making Mini look great (which isn’t a surprise as it’s his younger brother).

Post match Omos comes in to wreck Mini and Wagner. Galeno del Mal (Wagner’s brother) runs in for the save. Hijo was getting his shoulder looked at as Omos came out and was still on the mat at the end of the segment so that’s not a good sign. Also who rang the bell? Wagner?

Rey Fenix vs. Laredo Kid

Non-title. Kid’s running shoulder doesn’t do much to Fenix, who pops up and sticks the landing on a hurricanrana. They trade some flips and flip up to a standoff, allowing Fenix to do his rather springboardy wristdrag. Kid cuts off a dive with a big clothesline though and a basement dropkick gets two.

A Michinoku Driver gives Kid two and a top rope splash connects for two more. Fenix avoids a charge in the corner though and hits a rope walk kick to the head to send Kid to the apron. Fenix kicks him out to the floor and there’s the slingshot hurricanrana. Back in and a top rope moonsault press gives Fenix two and a running springboard kick to the head connects in the corner.

The Mexican MuscleBuster is broken up though and Kid’s Canadian Destroyer gets…one. Back up and Fenix hits the rolling cutter for two and they chop it out from their knees. Fenix charges into a shot to the face in the corner but he catches Kid up top. The Mexican MuscleBuster gives Fenix the pin at 9:40.

Rating: B. These two worked well together, though that’s a pair of losses in a row for Kid. I’m not sure what that’s going to mean, but there is a good chance that this sets up a big showdown at Noche de Los Grandes for the title. Kid has been champion for the better part of ever so it might be time for Fenix to finally get a big win. For now though, you had two guys going nuts for about ten minutes and it was rather entertaining.

Post match Fenix offers a handshake but Kid clutches his belt and shoulders past him.

We recap the Psycho Circus vs. the War Raiders, which is going on at the same time that the Circus is being taken out one by one. Pagano is the most likely suspect and there is going to be a face to face showdown between Pagano and Psycho Clown next week.

Video on Catalina, who is making her in-ring debut next week.

It’s time for the Grande Americanos’ contract signing, with a bunch of security and a few hosts. Dorian Roldan explains the stakes of mask vs. mask but Original has a piece of paper, which he hands to Roldan. Apparently it’s from Original’s attorney and this match isn’t going to happen without some conditions. There can be no physical attacks from now until May 30, and if there is, the attacker has to unmask. Grande is ticked off but signs anyway and Roldan has security leave.

Hold on as there is something else on the paper: the female host/interviewer has to be removed from AAA for attacking Original. She wants Grande to take Original’s mask and leaves. Original signs and throws the pin at Grande before leaving. Grande: “SHORTY!” He has something else to say but the Creed Brothers run in and put Grande through the table. Los Americanos run in for the save to end the show. This is a great example of a story that might be a bit silly but it’s working so well because the fans care about the people involved. That’s how a good story should go and I want to see these two fight so nice job.

Overall Rating: B. This was more of a story heavy show and that’s nice to see on occasion. You can see where a lot of the Noche card is going and I’m liking what is being put together. The wrestling here was still pretty good and I want to see what happens from here. They keep me hooked week to week and that’s not something some much bigger promotions can pull off. This was a solid show and the ending was a hot angle, which is more than good enough for about an hour.

We’re back to Mexico but in this case the commentary is in Spanish as WWE didn’t upload the show to their YouTube channel (likely due to a case of Wrestlemania). There is no telling what we’ll get around here, but the show has been one of the more consistently entertaining series in recent months so hopefully that continues. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Aerostar vs. Lince Dorado vs. Joaquin Wilde

Dorado knocks both of them down to start and backbreakers Aerostar for two. Aerostar is sent outside but comes back in for a double superkick to Dorado. Wilde sends Dorado into a DDT from Aerostar, who gets taken down with a neckbreaker. Back up and Aerostar is sent outside for a heck of a flip dive from Dorado but Wilde takes both of them out with an even bigger dive.

Back in and Wilde poses on Aerostar and gets his picture taken until Dorado breaks it up. Dorado is sent outside and Wilde superkicks Aerostar, who catches Wilde on top. A powerbomb out of the corner gives Wilde two, with Dorado shooting starring in for the save. Aerostar knocks Dorado outside for a suicide dive and then takes Wilde out as well. Back in and Aerostar gives Dorado a rolling cutter but Dorado rolls through a super hurricanrana for the pin at 7:05.

Rating: B. This was, pardon the expression, total nonstop action and that’s what the match should have been. It was a case where any of the three winning would have been fine, though Dorado is probably the biggest name out of the three. Good opener here as they certainly started the show fast.

The War Raiders and Psycho Circus get in a fight before tonight’s main event.

Dorian Roldan appeals to his mother about Mini Vikingo costing El Hijo del Vikingo the Intercontinental Title last week. Things have been insane and the company has no leadership so he should be the new GM. She wants a week to think about it.

Mixed Tag Team Titles: Dinamico/La Hiedra vs. Mr. Iguana/Lola Vice

Iguana and Vice are defending. Dinamico isn’t sure what to make of the stuffed iguana and Iguana flipping around and having a seat makes it worse. It’s quickly off to the women with Hiedra working on the arm but getting pulled into an armbar. Hiedra pops up and shakes her hips, only to get pulled into a cross armbreaker. Iguana gets the same thing on Dinamico but both of them are broken up.

Iguana is sent into the corner for a running hip attack and Hiedra gives Vice something like Shattered Dreams. The fans react to Hiedra giving Vice a spank but Vice is right back with a suplex. Iguana comes back in for a big spinning headscissors on Dinamico, who is right back with a running cutter. It’s back to Vice, who gives Dinamico the running hip attack but gets rolled up to give Hiedra two. Vice kicks Hiedra in the face, leaving Dinamico to powerbomb Iguana for two. Iguana gets caught in an electric chair but spins out into a DDT to retain at 7:57.

Rating: C+. There was a lot going on here but these titles are hardly the most serious thing in the world. It’s fine to see something like this, with a bunch of comedy spots and the fans mainly there for Iguana and Vice’s shtick. You could do just about anything here and it would have been fine, which was on display with this one.

We look back at the battle of the Americanos last week, with the mask vs. mask match being set.

El Grande Americano talks about how what he said at Rey de Reyes came from the heart. El Texano is with him and says all the titles and accomplishments mean nothing if you won’t fight. Americano is ready to fight and Texano respects him for accepting the mask vs. mask match. They seem ready to team up.

Here’s what’s coming next week.

We look at the Psycho Circus vs. the Viking Raiders at Rey de Reyes with the match ending in a double DQ.

Ivar vs. Psycho Clown

They start fast with an exchange of clotheslines in the corner until Clown takes over. Clown knocks him outside and hits a big suicide dive but Ivar is back up with a Tour Of The Islands. Clown’s comeback is cut off by Ivar sitting on him out of the corner but Clown knocks him down again. A split legged moonsault gives Clown two and he hits a running corner boot.

Ivar spinebusters him out of the air but misses the Doomsault. That’s shrugged off and Ivar kicks him in the face, followed by a tiger bomb for two more. Clown fights out of a superplex attempt and hits a sunset bomb, followed by a Code Red for another near fall. The referee gets bumped so Clown’s Samoan drop doesn’t get a count. Cue Erik to lay Clown out and a double powerbomb gives Ivar the pin at 8:43.

Rating: B. This was two big men hitting each other really hard until…well until it took a bonus big man to cause the pin. That’s all this was supposed to be and since we haven’t seen anything close to it on the show, it stood out that much more. I liked this a good big and it was a rather fun way to wrap up the show.

Post match Pagano runs in for the late save. The Raiders leave and Clown yells at Pagano for not being there. They keep arguing to the back and violence seems likely but they go different ways. Clown finds Murder Clown attacked with a Pagano shirt to end the show.

Overall Rating: B. This show continues to be simple, easy to follow, and entertaining. Part of that is due to it not taking up too much time every week, but I have more fun watching this show than just about anything else. I’m glad to see it finding its groove while giving some WWE stars something to do. Another good show this week with above average wrestling.

We continue the road towards King Of Kings and the qualifying for the namesake match continues. That’s in addition to El Hijo de Vikingo getting ready to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Mega Title. This show has been a breeze to watch in its early weeks and it would be great to see that continue. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Jack Cartwheel vs. La Parka

Cartwheel cartwheels around to start and Parka loses his sleeves, though his arms have bones on them as well (that’s great). A running crucifix bomb plants Parka and he rolls outside, where Cartwheel busts out a space flying tiger drop for the big crash. Back in and Parka gets two off a Michinoku Driver but Cartwheel snaps off a poisonrana. A Red Arrow misses though and Cartwheel gets suplexed into the corner. Cartwheel rolls outside so Parka nails a suicide dive, followed by the Thriller for the pin at 3:59.

Rating: B-. I was surprised at the length of the match as I was expecting this to be a good bit longer. They crammed in a bunch of stuff into just about four minutes and that’s great to see. Cartwheel was hyped up as a big deal, but given that Parka was in the Royal Rumble, it’s no surprise that he got a showcase here. Fun match either way though.

Post match Parka brings in a kid for some dancing. Works around the world.

We look back at El Ojo destroying Mini Vikingo.

Mini Vikingo is in the hospital, with his mother by his side. He says his heart hurts the worst, because he tried to honor Vikingo and this is what happened. He’s so glad his mother is here with him, though his mother finds a note saying “SEE YOU SOON!” from El Hijo de Vikingo. Unfortunately she doesn’t show it to him. This was so over the top that it was great, especially getting to see Omos wreck him again.

Santos Escobar doesn’t like people dancing around here and is ready to put El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. on trial, with Escobar as judge, jury and executioner, say at King Of Kings.

Las Toxicas vs. Faby Apache/Jessy Jackson/Adelicious

Apache charges at Maravilla to start and grabs a flipping backslide for two. It’s off to Adelicious, who gets hit in the face and Hiedra comes in for a backbreaker. Jackson comes in for some running knees in the corner but a distraction lets Flammer come in and the villains take over. A kick to the face in the corner puts Jackson outside but she manages a double clothesline. Adelicious comes back in with a double missile dropkick and a 450 gets two, with Hiedra making the save. Everything breaks down and Flammer’s basement dropkick pins Adelicious at 3:42.

Rating: C. Another quick and to the point match here as the regular trio gets to smash through a makeshift team. If nothing else, Flammer, the Reina de Reinas champion, getting a win is a good way to go as you want to remind people that the champions are indeed good. Not much to see here, but they were moving while they were in there.

The Original Grande Americano declares that he is the real version and accuses SOMEONE of impersonating him for the last six months. That impostor even SANG SONGS in Spanish to pretend to be him. Don’t worry though as he’ll win the Rey de Reyes tournament and then the Mega Title.

We look back at Panic Clown being attacked a few weeks ago.

The Psycho Circus and Pagano want to keep their eyes out tonight and then go see Panic, but one of them (Dave I believe) has forgotten something in the locker room.

We look at the rather intense rivalry between Abismo Negro and Fiscal, who meet next week.

Money Machine vs. War Raiders vs. Los Americanos

For a Tag Team Title shot against Pagano/Psycho Clown (on Spanish commentary) at Rey de Reyes. Bravo armdrags Plata down to start and stops to dances so Oro comes in, earning a beating of his own. The Raiders aren’t having this and clears the ring, including dropping Oro for two. Money Machine gets back in to take over on Erik but Ivar takes both of them out. Los Americanos are in to jump Ivar, but the Raiders pull the two of them out of the air.

That means a toss to send the two of them into each other for quite the crash but Money Machine dives in to dropkick the Raiders down again. The Raiders catch the diving Money Machine and toss them into each other as well though, leaving the Raiders to go after Rayo inside. The Bronco Buster misses for Ivar though and Bravo comes back in to slug away at Money Machine.

Rayo’s middle rope moonsault clears out a bunch of people on the floor and Bravo actually slams Ivar back inside. Stereo diving headbutts get two on Ivar but Money Machine is back in to take over. A suicide dive hits Ivar and a second takes Erik out but Los Americanos double headbutt Oro. The Raiders make the save though and a belly to back suplex/top rope splash finishes Plata at 9:27.

Rating: B. They went with the fast paced, exciting style here and that worked well. The Raiders were a smart addition as you can always use a team with a power brawling style. It helps that they already have a reputation as former champions in WWE to add some star power. The other teams were rather good as well, as they were flying around to confused the Raiders, making for a hot main event.

Post match the champs get in the ring for the staredown with the Raiders, but here is Murder Clown to wave Psycho and Pagano to the back. Dave the Clown has been attacked and is taken away in an ambulance to end the show.

Overall Rating: B-. The best sign is that these shows seem to be starting to bring in some more AAA stars rather than just having the WWE guest stars. That makes sense to a certain extent, but eventually you need to stick with what this show is supposed to be about. They made it work again this week, with a completely entertaining show, even without most of the bigger names. Hopefully they can continue that trend, as it’s a good thing to see.

AAA Alianzas

This appears to be a show that airs about once a month or so and in this case, it was broadcast on the WWE YouTube channel. That’s enough to get me to watch the show, though apparently commentary is entirely in Spanish. I’m not sure what this is going to mean or how much I’ll understand but the name of the show means Alliances, so expect some kind of a team deal. Let’s get to it.

Note that I do not follow the regular AAA shows nor do I understand more than a tiny bit of Spanish so I apologize in advance for any storyline or character points that I miss.

We open with a recap of El Hijo del Vikingo saying he’s the best and being interrupted by El Grande Americano, leading to a brawl. We also see Dominik Mysterio beating Dragon Lee to retain the Mega Title at Heroes Inmortales. Later, the Wyatt Sicks attacked Pagano and Psycho Clown and Chelsea Green and Ethan Page became the Mixed Tag Team Champions.

Mysterio and Americano, partners later tonight, share a bag of popcorn.

A team called El Ojo (the Eye) gets what seems to be instructions from their manager (I believe it’s Dorian Roldan).

We get the traditional tribute to Antonio Pena.

Je’Von Evans vs. Axiom vs. Octagon Jr.

For a future Cruiserweight Title shot, with champion Laredo Kid on commentary. Octagon gets knocked down to start but gets back up for a rollup on Axiom. Commentary talks about John Cena and Smackdown as they trade missed dropkicks for a triple staredown. A dropkick and springboard armdrag send Evans outside and Axiom follows it up with a running hurricanrana to Octagon.

Evans is back in to send Axiom outside, only to get hurricanranaed by Octagon. Back up and Octagon hits a running corkscrew dive to take both of them out on the floor, followed by a slingshot corkscrew splash for two on Axiom. The corkscrewing continues with a high crossbody for two on Evans as Axiom makes the save. This time it’s Axiom hitting the big dive to the floor to take both of them out as the fans approve.

Back in and Evans is knocked down, followed by a Codebreaker to Axiom, leaving all of them needing a breather. Octagon’s 450 mostly misses Evans but gets two anyway, with Axiom breaking it up. Evans hits a heck of a no hands dive onto Octagon on the floor, followed by a great frog splash for two on Axiom.

Back in and Axiom kicks Octagon down and backslides Evans for two. A superkick gets two more on Octagon, who catches Axiom on top. The tabletop superplex drops Axiom for another two with Evans making the save this time. Axiom’s super Spanish Fly hits Octagon but Evans cuts off the Golden Ratio, using Octagon as a launchpad for a cutter. The top rope cutter gives Evans the pin on Axiom at 12:12.

Rating: B. This is straight out of a bunch of promotion’s playbooks, as you take athletic wrestlers and let them fly around the ring for a bit to start the show. It’s worked well for years and will continue to do so for a long time. Evans continues to rack up experience, which is only going to help him in the end. Axiom is already fairly seasoned and can hang in there with anyone, with Octagon being more than good in his own right. Rather fun opener here.

Post match Kid gets in the ring for a respectful handshake and staredown.

Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano are in the back, with Mysterio holding up some Gringos Locos masks.

El Ojo vs. Psycho Circus/Pagano

No DQ and Dorian Roldan is here with El Ojo (El Mesias, Mecha Wolf, Forastero, Sanson) and Psycho Circus is Psycho Clown/Murder Clown/Dave The Clown). The Clowns clear the ring to start and we settle down to Pagano striking away at (I believe) Wolf, including a springboard cutter. Pagano whips out the weapons but gets taken down by the quick dive, allowing everyone to grab weapons for the big brawl.

The Clowns get the better of things and Murder takes over with cookie sheet. That earns him a big group beatdown, including stomps and kendo stick shots. Murder is right back with a double Samoan drop and the crushes Mesias, allowing the needed tag off to Psycho. Everything breaks down again and we hit more dives, meaning it’s table time. Dave takes out Psycho by mistake and Mesias gives Dave a Backstabber.

Pagano’s middle rope Codebreaker takes Mesias down and Murder chokebombs Wolf. Sanson comes back in to clean house until Psycho sunset flips Forastero for two. Forastero and Sanson take Psycho up top for a double superplex, which naturally is turned into a Tower Of Doom. Some top rope splashes ensue and everyone is down for a needed breather. The clowns hit their dives (mostly) and it’s Psycho with a super Spanish Fly onto some chairs to pin Sanson at 12:08.

Rating: B-. Kind of like the opener, you knew what you were going to get with the people involved. They didn’t bother trying to do anything but have a violent fight here and from what I’ve seen, that tends to go with the Clowns’ strengths. The Clowns have felt like a big deal around here for a long time and having them face what seems to be a top heel stable is always going to work.

Post match the Clowns brag about their win but Bo Dallas pops up on screen and accepts a challenge for a match against the Wyatt Sicks at Guerrera de Titantes. It seems to be a Carnival Of Carnage, which doesn’t sound pleasant.

Dragon Lee talks to El Hijo del Vikingo about their tag match tonight but Vikingo doesn’t seem interested.

Mixed Tag Team Titles: Lola Vice/Mr. Iguana vs. Chelsea Green/Ethan Page

Green and Page are defending and the champs run them over to start fast. Some stereo hurricanranas take Green and Page down though and Vice rams her hips into Green’s head. Vice even blows a kiss to Iguana, who isn’t sure what to do. A snap suplex drops green and it’s off to the men, with Iguana pulling out his namesake. Page cuts that off with a powerslam out of the corner and kicks Iguana in the face for a bonus.

Another powerslam attempt is countered into a tornado DDT and the tag brings in Vice to kick away at Green. The running hip attack in the corner gets two, with Page making the save. Everything breaks down and Iguana hits a springboard hurricanrana to take out Page on the floor. The referee goes down and Green brings in a kendo stick. Vice takes it away but so does Page, and a hard shot knocks Iguana (who was protecting Vice) out for the pin at 7:02.

Rating: C+. Green and Page are some of the most entertaining people in wrestling today and they got to showcase some of that here. At the same time, Iguana and Vice were able to do their thing, with the fans approving. These titles are almost guaranteed to be a bit less than serious, so Green and Page annoying the fans until someone knocks them off is a good way to go.

Post match El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. runs in for the brawl with Page. Green gets in a cheap shot though and Page beats him down.

Dominik Mysterio/El Grande Americano vs. Dragon Lee/El Hijo del Vikingo

Mysterio and Americano are the clear crowd favorites here. Lee and Mysterio start things off with Lee snapping off a running hurricanrana. Vikingo comes in to cut off a charge into the corner so it’s off to Americano, who shoves Vikingo down. Americano’s armdrag into a hammerlock has the fans singing (again) and Americano does a handstand, complete with claps of his feet.

That’s broken up and Lee hits a running dropkick but Vikingo won’t let him use the big dive. Vikingo does his own dive and NOW Lee can bust out the flipping dive. Lee and Vikingo nearly get in a fight on the floor, allowing Mysterio and Americano to hit stereo baseball slides. Back in and Mysterio dropkicks Lee outside again and some rolling suplexes make it worse. Vikingo gets the tag to take over on Mysterio, but Lee tags himself in out of frustration.

Lee’s top rope double stomp in the Tree Of Woe gets two and it’s back to an annoyed Vikingo. A Michinoku Driver gets Mysterio out of trouble and Americano comes in for the comeback. Americano hits a springboard Blockbuster (nice) into something like White Noise for two on Lee.

Vikingo goes up but Lee is sent into him for a crotching so Americano covers Lee, with Vikingo firing off a 450 for the save. Unfortunately that hits Lee, who is right back with Operation Dragon for two on Mysterio. Lee dives over for the tag and of course Vikingo pulls his arm back and even knocks Lee out. The 619 sets up Americano’s running headbutt to finish Lee at 17:01.

Rating: B. The fact that I can’t understand the promos or the backstory but knew the story they were telling in the match means they were doing something right. The action was there as well, with everyone working hard and putting in a good match that the fans liked. I got into this and it felt like a big time main event, so well done all around.

Post match Mysterio brags about their win and says they’re the best in the world. Cue the reunited Lucha Bros, who seem to disagree, and say something about chicken nuggets. This seems to be a challenge for Guerra de Titantes on December 20 in Guadalajara. Mysterio and Americano seem to be in to end the show.

Overall Rating: B. I had a good time with this show, which certainly felt like a WWE formatted show at times. I could get a nice enough idea of what was going on here, which is quite the feat when the show is in an entirely different language. This was definitely a faster paced style, but the show was entertaining and kept my attention for almost two hours. Nice job, and something I could go for more of if WWE wants to do some more special broadcasts.
