As opposed to the new Nitros that is.Raw and Smackdown could use some random matches between guys they don’t often feature. Look at the roster they’ve got. With as many talented guys as they’ve got, they can’t manage to ever get them on one of the bigger shows. I know they’re on Superstars and other such C-shows, but instead of having the same matches over and over again, let some of these guys be jobbers on the main shows. I mean, do we need to see Cesaro fight Kofi fifteen times or Sheamus vs. Barrett so often? Look at the six man tag from Raw. Those were six guys you could throw on TV at any time and get a decent match out of them, so why not use them?

This got me to thinking: are they any moves that are a guaranteed victory anymore? Back in the day, when someone kicked out of a big time finisher, it was a world changing event. Today if it doesn’t happen three times in a match the match is considered subpar. At that point, a move isn’t a finisher anymore. It’s a move you happen to do in a match.

Not a single one of the Divas in this video are full time wrestlers for WWE anymore.

Second, and more pertinent, I was watching a show setting up Wrestlemania last year and none of the three Divas and none of them are even in WWE anymore. Think about that: in a year the top of the division has been completely eliminated. And yet they wonder why no one cares about these girls.

Going into Wrestlemania 17 (April 1, 2001), they were record 6 time tag champions and would win their 7th titles that night. In the same year, five other teams (Dudleyz, Hardyz, RTC, Too Cool and Rock/Undertaker) all won tag titles. That’s about one title change every month, yet people complain when it changes every three months today. This was a golden era of tag wrestling though right?

Why doesn’t Savage get credit for such a career at Wrestlemania? That’s a fine career, let alone just at Wrestlemania.

Chyna had turned on DX and joined the Corporation I believe late last year. A few weeks before this she was holding HHH for a fireball shot from Kane, only to take it herself. HHH standing up for the honor of his friend who isn’t his friend anymore because she turned on him. As an act of friendship, HHH painted himself gold and wore a flowery robe while imitating a crossdresser and launched a flamethrower at Kane, burning him again. Later in the show, Chyna would turn on Kane and reunite with HHH, only to have BOTH of them turn HALF AN HOUR LATER to join the Corporation.

This of course is REAL entertainment, unlike what we got on Monday night right? Oh wait Cena sometimes makes jokes aimed at ten year olds so he isn’t entertaining right? Clearly it’s time to turn him heel, like everyone else in the Attitude Era did, sometimes more than once an hour!

Even though the match ended three minutes earlier. What is the statute of limitations for changing an ending to a match? Could Shamrock have cut Hebner off in the parking lot six months later and have the decision reversed there? Wouldn’t the thirty day title defense requirement be up for whomever the title is returned to? I can feel the walls of the wrestling time continuum crumbling as I think about this.
