Thank God Cena/Orton didn’t main event WrestleMania 30. Granted, you can say that having it at TLC was a dumb decision, but at the same time, what we got for the main event instead was so much better.

It’s funny you mention Reigns as the star and it’s funny how much can change in a year. I think Reigns is the Shield member WWE wants to be a star but the more time goes on it looks as if Ambrose is the real star of The Shield.

  3. Civil Defence says:

Again, I don’t get your argument about ratings. They haven’t changed – Cena has not boosted them, nor have they dropped. The first two hours rate strongly but that is how it always has been for 3 hour shows. Even when Cena was featured during the last hour. He might sell a lot of merchandise, but WWE’s ratings have been in a constant decline for the last few years. Five years ago, if you told them John Cena would garner them a 2.7, Vince would have freaked out.

    • Rocko says:

Look at segment breakdowns. Not rating for whole show. Ratings have gone down due to number of reasons (DVR, internet being two huge ones). But you can see the effect a particular wrestler has when you look at segment breakdowns and see if they gain or lose viewers. Daniel Bryan lost viewers. Cena doesn’t.

  4. Civil Defence says:

TV ratings are the same now as they were when Bryan was in the main event. So I hardly see how you can blame him

Listen to the crowds. Punk and Bryan got the loudest reactions last night. In Cena’s hometown (or at least, close to his hometown) no less. The problem is no one cares about Orton anymore

    • Rocko says:

Yes but Cena is still a much better draw. Breakdown ratings by segment and you’ll see what I mean by Daniel Bryan not being a draw.

Crowd reactions don’t mean much (in terms of ratings).

      • Ted says:

It’s all about what the fans want.

        • Rocko says:

TV ratings do in fact come from fans. Just because you find Bryan interesting (as do I) doesn’t mean everyone does. Again, fan reaction does not correlate to being a draw.

        • Ted says:

Even though no one is a draw anymore. I’m stunned you or anyone is approving of this descion. They are having a unification match of the two biggest belts from supposedly the two biggest stars, and no one cares! This shit is inexcusable. Look Orton and cena are fine hands but the audience does not care. As for the ratings nonsense no one in the pattern they are in is going to get over minus cena, because the audience knows no matter how much they cheer or support someone. They aren’t breaking the pattern they’re in.

So please tell me how great Orton and cena will be for ratings while the audience sits on their hands and chants for the guys that aren’t draws.

  5. Rocko says:

The only problem I see for Orton vs Cena at mania is no Taker vs Cena.

I wonder if they will unify the US and IC title along with the two world titles. I would assume they would.

  6. M.R. says:

Unpopular opinion alert: I’d like to see Cena-Orton at Wrestlemania 30. With Batista gone, they’re the two biggest names of the new generation that spawned a decade ago and while they may not have had classics in the past they’re certainly capable of it. Not to mention a title unification raises the brand of every title in the company.

    • Ted says:

You want to see Cena and Orton? Watch SummerSlam 2007 or 2009 or Breaking Point or Hell In A Cell 2009. You could watch the deafening silence of their encounter in the 2011 Royal Rumble. These guys just do not equal stone cold and the rock no matter how much the WWE wants them to.

  7. mike says:

Why is the audience annoying when they chanted for bryan?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      1. It’s over.

      2. It’s distracting. The segment had nothing to do with Bryan and wasn’t supposed to. Let the people in the segment do their thing.

      • Ted says:

        1. Irrelevant the audience still likes Bryan.

        2. It’s the audience saying we don’t want to see this, and the WWE saying we don’t care what you want.

        • Rocko says:

TV ratings say they don’t care about Bryan. I like Bryan but he is just not a draw.

WWE has to put on what the fans will watch.

  8. Ted says:

Wow Cena vs Orton a match that has always been incredibly boring. Is now going to be boring at WRESTLEMANIA!

Decent show thought I wonder where it leaves Amborse and Rollins after Reigns goes on his own, They are good hands.

  9. M.R. says:

I chose football. I chose wisely.

  10. Not Jay(the real one) says:

THAT WAS AWESOME! Tremendous show tonight! Probably PPV of the year! I dare you to say something bad about anything tonight…I DARE YOU! Big Show vs Orton tore the house down!!! I love how the crowd sarcastically chanted ‘TNA’ during that match! LOL! I think they’re reasoning for chanting that was ‘hey TNA, you could never put on a main event this good’ SUCK IT TNA! Great show tonight. RAW needs to start now!

    • Jay H. (the real one) says:

      I HATE YOU!

Survivor Series turned out to be a good Show overall. The 5 on 5 was good and Roman Reigns is going to be a Huge Main Event Player. Cena/ADR and Punk/Bryan vs the Wyatts were good ones as well. Orton/Big Show tried so I have to give them that.

      • Moron H. (the realest one) says:

Oh look a WWE event that was critically negative was loved by Jay H. Well he liked Battleground so his opinion is up there with a 3 year olds.
