Nobody wants to be a comedy character for two reasons.

    1. There is no upward mobility and thus no way to make more money.

    2. No one takes you seriously. Which also makes it almost impossible to make more money.

There isn’t anything wrong with comedy characters, but don’t kid yourself. No one wants to be one. It’s a dead end.

Brodus Clay seems to be the perfect example of someone who didn’t embrace it. As such he failed, got cut, and is slumming it in TNA.

Then again sometimes comedy doesn’t pan out and they fail. Derrick Bateman failed, then went serios in TNA and is their worlds Champion.
