Minus the Main Event & Tag Matches it really was a shame this PPV couldn’t be saved. It would have been awesome to see Punk eliminate Big Show in the opening minutes of the Chamber. Now if it had come down to RVD,CM Punk, and Lashley would Lashley still have won? I think Sabu could have still been in this Match as well.

He and Sabu got caught smoking weed when Van Dam was WWE & ECW champion right in the middle of his big push. Van Dam got suspended and had to be stripped of both title. Which is why it happened back to back on Raw and then ECW. Since then both guys were pushed down as you can see by how Sabu was written off this show.

Is this a bad time to admit I found Ariel attractive under this gimmick?

    …Yes? thought so, okay then.

    Hello,

First of all, I hope all is well with you. Second, I’ve been reading and enjoying your reviews for a while now and I can’t say enough about them. Really good job! I have a question for you, on the December to Dismember review, you said that RVD was already hated by the company at the time of the ppv. Why was he hated? In fact, I never actually understood his downfall in the WWE. Could you pleas explain this? thank you!

I’ll take this one KB. In July 2006, RVD along with Sabu was busted for speeding and worse, drugs. At the time RVD was both the ECW and WWE Champion. RVD was suspended for a month (but not before he dropped both belts on consecutive nights) and basically was a midcarder for the rest of his WWE run.

Basically, RVD messed up at a really, really bad time.
