Raw Draws Lowest Rating In Over 15 Years

It was 2.2.  My question: why does this surprise anyone?I’m surprised it’s that high.  We had a taped three hour show where NOTHING HAPPENED on CHRISTMAS EVE.  What were they expecting to happen?  I’m amazed that this is considered a big story by some sites.  Of course it drew a terrible rating.  What did they expect?  Kids to stay up late on Christmas Eve to watch Cena beat up Del Rio again?

    Wow really?

Well Im not surprised since you know it was Christmas Eve afterall.

Uh you do know that RAW was on Christmas Day in 2000 and still got a 3.5 rating? And in 2006 RAW got a 2.7 on Christmas Day.

Indeed I do. I also know that Christmas Day would likely get a far higher rating than Christmas Eve. As Fritz Von Erich said when he held the Star Wars shows on Christmas Day: “Once you open the presents, what else is there to do?” Apparently about 50,000 people agreed with him and came to a WCCW show on Christmas night.

What are they doing for the New Years Eve show? Don’t see the rating improving a whole lot from this week’s.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Nothing that I know of. The week after that is the Ryback vs. Punk match, but it’s going against a football game that I’ve heard could rival the Super Bowl’s numbers. That’s a BIG problem.

If WWE wants to run a new episode of Raw on Christmas Eve, that’s no biggie. It’s the websites shocked by this fact that deserve to hold a “stupid” sign.

Agreed, I don’t know why people or websites are shocked by this. You’ve been calling this low rating for weeks now. It just seems that people want to bash WWE right now(and to be fair, rightly so) I usually get on people for making excuses for the low ratings but this time they had a legitimate excuse: IT WAS CHRISTMAS ‘FREAKIN’ EVE.

New Years wont be much better, but I bet a lot of people throwing parties will have it on in the background.
And yes, the show was actually a lot of fun. I watched the replay and enjoyed it.

Waiting for the guy named Jay to comment.. .

It doesn’t help that it was an incredibly stupid episode. Perhaps fans don’t like having there intelligence insulted

  7. Shocked they didn’t run Tribute To The Troops on Monday. Isn’t that what they usually do before or after Christmas every year? I actually enjoyed the show, but with the exception of die hard fans, a lot of people aren’t going to go out of their way to watch a three hour wrestling show on Christmas Eve.
